HELP PLEASE Backing up
Ok I'm using win xp, i have the iphone 3G and when i go to back it up it starts backing up and stops Half way and thats it, I can't seem to get the 3.0 on here because of this, theres not little X where when i click it to cancel the backing up it then goes to the Synk part which is fine, but Now it just gets stuck,

I had mega problems too. Try following the steps in my posting as below after creating a new user account on your computer with ADMIN priviledges also. See my posting on 20/06/2009 22:33 titled "Upgrade Error number 4 and Restore Error 1603 when going to OS 3.0 - Solved" And turn off any antivirus and firewall software too, before doing so. In ITunes, highlight your iphone icon and then click the Restore Button on the ITunes Summary tab which seems to force the iphone into an update. Dont try using the Check for update button. Good Luck...........
If i was doing my upgrade again i would first do a backup in ITunes, and then On the phone go to Setting > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. And then restore the backup after the OS 3.0 upgrade

Well, you needn't delete the "save stuff" folder after you're done, but it'd be the most logical. It's just a collection of Aliases.
You'll need to delete the info from the original location manually. This is what I meant by keeping note of exactly which files you're backing up.
If need be, completely move all of your original files that you wish to backup to a temporary folder before you burn everything.
This way, you can just drag that temporary folder to the burn folder when you're ready to burn, and then delete both that and the burn folder afterwards.
I'm sorry if this sounds a bit complicated. It's not really that difficult, but it's actually more complex sounding that it really is.

I downloaded an upgrade to my adobe reader today, and ever since my search engine has switched to yahoo and wont change back to google. I have a macbook pro, help please? Does anyone know how I can change this back? I have tried through my settings but it doesnt work

If you are using Safari as a web browser :-
Open Safari, go to Safari menu > Preferences > General, and put Google as the homepage. Then, choose Google as your default search engine.
If you are using Google Chrome as the web browser :-
Open Google Chrome.
In the top right corner of the page, click the Chrome menu Chrome menu > Settings.
In the "Search" section, select Google from the drop-down menu.

There is nothing wrong with your Dell, it will work fine with any MacbookPro. I have been using Dell displays for over 12 years with many different Mac models. I have two 21" Ultra Sharp displays working side by side to design a Keynote presentation right now.
The issue your having is with the way Keynote takes control of the video output to both displays, it sends the presentation signal to one and the presenter display to the other, this is set up in;
Keynote preferences > Presenter display.
If you want to show a wesite or another app on either display, use application switcher:
press the the command key on the keyboard, then the tab key; a row of applications will show what applications are running, choose which one you want to show. Use command > tab to return to Keynote. -
I opened my iPod Touch up to fix my home button. When i closed it back up it had a white screen. I tried pressing lock and home button for 10 seconds and it worked but while i'm using it it goes white with lines on the screen. Help please. I can't figure out how to get the music on my iPhone5s to shuffle. If I use the arrows to skip a song, it shuffles through a handful of the same songs then goes back to the song menu. Help please!
Un-sync all your music to remove it from the device, then restart (hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go). Now re-sync your music.

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
~/Library/Preferences
Click Go
Move the com.apple.PrinterPrefs.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.

I had a hard drive failure, external one, the i use to have all my music collection ( 550 gigas of music )
I got a new external HD and put there all the music the i had it back it up, .... same folders name, same HD name ... and i get The song “Point 0” could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?
Under itunes preferences i uncheck always " copy files to itunes media folder when adding to library "
Becouse i work with music, i created for many years playlist and also rate songs, info the i dont wanna lose, and it will be really really hard to re load all the tracks manually back agein, if i just drag my music folder on the eternal HD to itunes agein ......
My question is, why itunes wont see my music if everything its under the same folders, and folders names .. ( all my music was backed up as it was ), i just put it back on a new HD ..... how can i fix this keeping in mind the i really need to keep all my playlist songs, and raiting tags ??
Thank you so much .....Thank you for your time and help guys,.... to check the path i use to have, i select a song with the ! mark, and comand I to get hte info and inone of the info tabs, you can see where the file was located at,... and i realice i had a missing space in the folder name where my music was. Made the change, restarted itunes and the problem was fixed.

my ipod touch 3rd gen wont turn on or charge,laptop doesnt even detect it. no indication that its charging even in laptop no heat up at the back. how can i fix it? it happened after i plugged it in a socket then shows not supported with this accessory....help please.........thanks
Try:
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My IPhone 5, was backed up and restored. Music doesn't sync, when reconnecting device each time, it only offers restore or new phone rather than sync option. I have reinstalled ITunes but still this hasn't worked. Can anyone help please?
This problem started last year when ios 8 was released. I think apple is trying to force users to buy music on iTunes store and that's why it's impossible to sync other music and also that's the reason why they haven't solved this serious problem. That's really disappoints me and i'm angry with apple because i have like 10 gb of music in mp3 and i can't sync music from iTunes to my iPhone.

After hours of back-up, downloading and uploading...I am now updated with all the latest Mac software. However, I no longer have access to Excel and Word. Is there a way I can access my documents in either of those? Help, please.
If you have older versions of excel and word that previously ran under the Rosetta emulator (allows PowerPC code to run on Intel system), they will no longer work with Lion.
You can use the Apple programs Pages and Numbers to access the files. They can be bought and downloaded from the App store. NeoOffice is available at http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/en/index.php which has Lion support. OpenOffice doesn't talk to Lion support, it's at http://www.openoffice.org/ -
My ipad keeps crashing and this time it won't come back on it just keeps telling me to connect to itunes which I did and it just keeps telling me it can't restore this ipad because an error has occured! Really need help please?
If it keeps coming up with an unknown error - no error code given - try another computer. If that doesn't work, it's time to take it to an Apple Store or an authorized service center to have the device evaluated.

I noticed a couple of days ago that my url bar on my imac was no longer there,I am new to the apple community and I am not sure how to progress with my qustion. I have tried selecting :- view / customise toolbar but the dropdown box which has various options to drag and drop does not show the address bar I am stuck can you help
