This is a common problem with iPhone 4s (and IOS 5) There isn't ' anything you can do about it, so you're best bet is to go down to the store and get an exchange. If you have an older iPhone (3gs/4) roll back your update from IOS 5 to IOS 4.

You can't override it no matter what you do. The device has to connect to the server to complete the iOS update. You could try rebooting the iPad and see if that lets you connect to the server after it starts up.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that will not work, you can try connecting to iTunes on your computer and see if the activation will complete. Sometimes when thes activation issues arise, you end up having to restore the device again, but first things first. Reboot and see what happens.

Why do I get "No service" when I try to make a call or send a text message?

Ever time I want to send a text message this little loading bar at the top stops at ~80% and after a few seconds I loose signal and it says "No service".
Aslo when I try to make a call I don't hear a thing and then I get "No service". This is messed up and I have called my carrier and they told me to contact apple becquse they should fix it.

It could definately be a hardware problem if your brother's sim had the same issue. A way to isolate a hardware issue would be to back up your phone and set it up as a new device (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137) Give it a test with no information on the phone. If it still doesn't work, it's a hardware issue. Where you have a 4s, you're definetly still covered in your limited hardware warranty (if you don't have the apple care) You could then make an appointment at the apple store (http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/) Or call 1800 MY IPHONE to set up a mail in replacement. Nokia 5800 XM dies when i try to make a call

I just got this problem, i tried to make a factory reset.. formated memory card, removed it... made factory restart again... notting helps... my nokia just dies when i try to make a call or even when i try to recive it... Does anyonehave any solution to this? It's really anoying thing...

Hmm, odd. It actually seems a hardware issue to me. Anyhow, you can try calling when there is no memory card inserted, to see if its an issue with corrupted system files on the card.
If that doesnt work, do a hard reset:
A hard reset (x6, 5800 and 5230 only) is done by the following (warning, this deletes all data on your phone):
1.) Turn off the phone and remove battery for 5min
2.) Reinsert battery
3.) Press and hold the green, red and camera buttons. DO NOT LET GO.
4.) While holding the three buttons, press the power key to boot the phone up.
5.) Keep on pressing until you see the country selection screen.
A correctly done hard reset would show you that everything on the phone (contacts, messages, calendar entries, etc) would be deleted. So it is advisable to back them up. Upon restoration, do not restore settings or files if possible.
If that still doesnt work, you'll have to take the phone to a Nokia Care Center.

My contacts keeps closing when i try to make a call

I am having the exact same issue and have called customer service no less than 5 times, husband has called once. Every time I get a new answer. We've been told go buy new sim card from walmart (for $50???!!! Not going to happen for this brand new phone I just bought a week ago from Best Buy) or get one from my local verizon store (which, by the way, won't or doesn't do a THINK with prepaid cell phones). Been told our phone is no good and to return it. Been told we don't get coverage here. (Have been able to successfully make 2 calls and receive 1 so that can't be the case.) Twice we have thought the issue was resolved, only to find that when we hung up with the customer service rep, it was right back to where it was before.......we ported a number in from another prepaid carrier, which may be the issue as the phone worked before this. But, Geez, Verizon, I've had the phone activated for 1 week and have gotten to use it so little. By the way, texting and 4g LTE work perfectly! And Verizon, getting through to a human on that menu of yours? Hmm.....
