Help:  Report Builder does not do JSP on Laptop ......

Hi, your experts:
I installed 9i DB and 9i DS (a complete 1.9GB install) in separate homes on a laptop running win 2000. I can create or open paper-layout reports with no problem. But, I can NOT create new JSP reports (using report wizard) OR open JSP reports created elsewhere. An "internal error (REP-0069, see below) occurs when the "Finish" button is clicked in the final step of the wizard or open button is clicked in file opener. The error occurs no matter whether my laptop is connected to our LAN or not. I did a complete deinstall and then a complete (re)install and the problem is still there.
Following is a detailed description of what happens when you try to create a jsp report using the report wizard:
When the finish button is clicked, a Report Builder error message box pops up with the following messages:
REP-0069: Internal error
REP-0: IDL:oracle/reports/RWException:1.0
After OK button of the msg box is clicked, the following error pops up:
REp-6023: Unable to parse template file: rwbeige.html
Click on the OK button, the REP-0069 box pops up again. Clicl on the Ok button now, the web source editor will show up with codes in it.
Now, if you try to run the report, the following error popsup:
REP-0069 Internal error
REP-50003: Bad command line: webserver_srcroot=C:\ORA9IDS\reports\docroot
RVER_DOCROOT=c:/documents and settings/duz/localsettings/temp/docroot
Click on OK, you get the browser with "The page cannot be displayed" error messages.
Any suggestions and comments are appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Zhirong
P.S., By the way, my 9i DS is paid production version, and I tried to get help from Oracle Support. However, because they can not reproduce the problem, they can not do anything about it.

hello,
look in your O_H/reports/templates for a file rwbeige.html. it might be that it is missing. if so, just copy one of the others (rwgreen.html, rwblue.html, ...) to the rwbeige.html name or choose another template in the wizard.

  • Reports Builder does not start

    Hi,
My Report Builder (v. 9.0.4.0.27) does not start. If I start it I get the initial pop up with the "Oracle Reports Developer - Oracle Developer Suite 10g" and the rwbuilder process is running. I dont get the application window. If I end rwbuilder process the popup is gone.
I run Windows XP Pro sp 3. (Forms Builder works fine.)
    Any clues?
    Lodewijk

There is a strange "feature": sometimes when you open up report-builder it will place the report-builder-window somewhere outside the screen. What works for me: Right click the report-builder-entry in the taskbar and choose maximize, this should make the window visible again.
    hope this helps.

  • Reports Builder does not react

    Hello,
I've a strange problem. If I want to start my reports Builder (Oracle developer suite->Reports Developer->Reports Builder) I get the normal startup screen (GUI), I see the Oracle Reports Builder -> Oracle developer 10g suite screen but nothing seems to happen after that. So developer does not startup. If I look at my taskmanager I see the task RWBUILDER.exe but no cpu acivities. I'm using Oracle 10g, I've already reinstalled the developer suite again, but it makes no difference.
Any one has an idea what this can bee?
    kind regards,

    Hello,
In order to know if the problem is related to the Reports Builder window location, you can use the free utility winlister :
    http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/winlister.html
Is there an "entry" for Reports Builder ?
If yes, what is the value for Location ?

  • Report Name does not come when converted to HTML format.

We are using Report Builder 10.1.2.3.0 to convert a .rep file to HTML. We need the HTML output file to feed to a reports to xls converter.
Problem is, the html output does not have the report name. Report name (and also date, time. user, page etc.) are in the margin section. For some reason, it wont print the report name in the html. It works fine when I run it in the builder.
Here is a graphic of the actual outputs: http://postimage.org/image/uio1x32gt/
Why is this??? The property palette for a label that is printing in all pages (like Date ) is the same as for the report name (GL EXTRACT DETAIL REPORT), BUT it does not appear in the HTML output???
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS: We use rwrun.exe with desformat=HTML.

    hi,
have you tried another label for the header of your report.Hi Amit, I tried that, and you are right.
I created a simple text boilerplate in the margin , on top of the report name. And when we generate the HTML it comes in every page properly.
The property palettes of the 2 texts are EXACTLY the SAME.
So why doesn't the old text (with report name) does NOT appear and ONLY the new text appear????
Cos, we are trying to generate an MS Excel version of every report. For this, we use a tool called rep2excel, and it users as in input an HTML file. So, we have to generate the HTML from the rep and feed it to that.
So, since we have 200 odd reports, we will have to change all of them, that is why.
Here is the output (HTML file): http://www.freeimagehosting.net/newuploads/dgrip.gif

  • "SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services does not support map report items"

    Hi,
I am trying some new feature that are introduced in SQL Server 2008 R2 version. While I try to use "Map" control within it, it threw the following error:-
"Error 1 The map, Map1, was removed from the report. SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services does not support map report items. "
-Also, similar kind of error I am getting for "Indicator" control.

    Hi Tej,
I think you get this error message when you are deploying a report to report server using BIDS, correct?  If not, please provide more details on your scenario :-)
If I guessed correctly, then this message is a result of trying to deploy a map report (a SSRS 2008 R2 feature) to a non-R2 2008 report server.  When deploying a report of RDL2010 format to a non-R2 report server, BIDS will downgrade the file to RDL2008 format, so that the non-R2 report server can process it.  Any report elements using features not supported in RDL2008 will be dropped during this downgrade process.
BIDS gets the server version from a report project property called TargetServerVersion:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee635898(SQL.105).aspx
If your report server is indeed the 2008 R2 version, then the TargetServerVersion property should be set to "SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services."  The project property page also has a "Auto Detect..." option if you are uncertain about the version of your report server.
    Hope this helps!

  • Report Builder is not exist in fusion middleware forms&reports installation

    Dear All,
i have installed oracle fusion middleware forms & report services ofm_frmrpts_win_11.1.2.1.0_64_disk1_1of1.
form builder is there, but the report builder is not there? why? where is report builder?
    Regards.

    Hi Maahjoor,
Try Starting Report Builder using the rwbuilder.bat found in the %ORACLE_INSTANCE%\config\reports\bin\ directory.
    If you still getting issues
    a)Backup the %ORACLE_INSTANCE%\config\reports\bin\ rwbuilder.bat file
b)Now modify rwbuilder.bat file from the %ORACLE_HOME%\bin\rwbuilder.bat file,by manually hard-coding the correct paths for:
    $$Instance.directory$$\config\reports\bin\reports.bat
$$Instance.oracle_home$$\bin\rwbuilder.exeThat is, if your instance home is C:\Oracle\Middleware\as_inst1, then change the rwbuilder.bat to reflect:
    C:\Oracle\Middleware\as_inst1\config\reports\bin\reports.bat
    C:\Oracle\Middleware\as_inst1\bin\rwbuilder.exe
    c)Then, re-execute the modified rwbuilder.bat file from the %ORACLE_INSTANCE%\config\reports\bin\ .
    If it still doesnt work...

  • Report data  does not reflect the SQL Query?

    Hi,
I have a report which does not seem to be processing all records returned from the database. When I run the SQL Query produced by crystal manually against the SQL Server all data is returned correctly in crystal not. Does this mean my links are not set up correctly in the Database Expert? or is there another issue, I use a Crystal Syntax selection formulae which is based on a couple of paramters to filter the database records.
    Help is appreciated
    K

<p>I agree with Rahul on checking the record count on the report vs. the record count from the query.  Conditional suppression and Group selection formula will hide records that are actually being returned.</p><p>It sounds like (from your question) that you are using the database linking expert in CR.  You can also check the SQL that CR is sending by going to Database -> Show SQL Query... compare this with the query you are using for validation, this will give you some clues as to whether your linking structure has an issue. </p>

  • Compiling fmb module in Form builder does not change the fmx file

    Hi,
I am using Oracle Forms Builder version 10.1.2.0.2 To edit 10g2 forms.
In the last month, it happened twice that an fmb file I edited in the forms builder did not change the fmx aftrer compilation.
namely, when I opened the fmx file in the application, I didn't see the changes, but they were present in the fmb form opened in the Form Builder.
Usually when we have the fmx file open in the application, the form builder won't let me compile it - showing the following error:
FRM-30087: Unable to create form file
When this error happens and the changes are not reflected, this error message doesn't appear even though the fmx file is open in the application.
I tried deleting the fmx file, and then opening it in the application to see if there is another copy of it.
The application gave an error 40010 - can't read form.
When I recompiled the file, the fmb didn't show any changes either, even though the file was created again in the file system.
I could not find a way to consistently reproduce this problem.
Did you ever encounter such a problem?
I noticed the edit -> preferences -> general menu has the option to "save befor building".
Does it mean the Form Builder keeps a cached copy of the fmb in memory, and when this error happens it compiles the original file system fmb file rather than the cached memory copy with the changes?
    Thanks,
    Eyal Azran
    Configuration Management Engineer - Isracard

    Hey Craig,
    Thank you for your response.
I verified the version of the forms on the Application Server and they are the same.
This problem is quite tricky to reproduce, it happens once every few months!
(we have about 10 developers, who are developing and testing on multiple servers - so far two of the servers showed this issue)
I've determined that the reason this happens is that:
    1. The compiled fmx is vied in the application.
** for some reason, the frmweb.exe process on the server does not terminate properly **
    2. The developer compiles the form again in Form Builder
    3. The Form Builder does not detect that the form is open in the mal-terminated process
There usually is an error message here saying the fmx module is locked - this error happens because this message is not displayed.
I will attach an image of the process monitoring tool we use ( ProceXP ) showing the ghost process that locks the fmx module.
    <edit>oops, I guess I can't attach the image- I can e-mail it if you'd like</edit>
If anyone has an idea for a solution, this will help immensely.
    Eyal

  • The site reporter tool does not work

There is an item in Firefox Help where you can report a Web site that does not work.  Originally, a report database was available on line and you could review existing submissions.  The database access site was officially [http://blog.mozilla.com/website-archive/2010/12/08/mozilla-reporter/ retired] and the data gathered were expurgated and dumped for everybody to download. It is 1.3 GB uncompressed; install with { gzcat | mysql mozrep; } to avoid doubling the space.
The [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Menu%20Reference#w_report-broken-web-sitead site reporter tool] does not seem to work any more.  It just submits the report forever.   It seems that Mozilla has broken functionality in a supported browser, disregarding all users.   The original reporter site redirects to a new feedback site.   The problem with that site is that you have to install version 4 beta to use it, which is not nice at all.  To add exploitation to disrespect, Mozilla tries to turn all customers into beta testers.

    Hi there
Sorry, but you need to give us more information. For starters, you *ARE* using Adobe Captivate, right? And what exactly are you trying to do where you are seeing the eyedropper isn't working? Can you post a screen capture or a small video recording of it? You can use Jing http://www.jingproject.com or maybe Screenr http://www.screenr.com.

    hi,
report designer is for front end view design and the designcan be done with restriction to navigation.
you have dynamic and static report designs with restricted navigations.

You gave a default target in the build.xml, and then didn't define the target.
This is an Ant question. You're better off asking Ant questions on an Ant forum.

  • Interface Builder does not open when I click Mainwindow.xib file on Monotouch.

I did a lot research about it, What the most of view say it is because of the iOS SDK, not because of the MonoTouch, they say that iOS SDK provides the Interface Builder? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. iOS SDK Version 4.3.

Does Monotouch work within Xcode? I'm not sure what it is. If so then Interface Builder does not open a separate window in Xcode 4. When you first go to your .xib, you must select your "Window" to see the window. Otherwise you get an empty grid. Here's an image with the "Window" selected. I have it set for Mac applications not iOS but what you have should look similar.

Would be problems with purchases, billing, and redemption option.  It's not 100% exact to your issue, but it will get you to the right department.

  • Appc does not compile JSPs under WEB-INF

    Hi,
We are using WLS 8.1 and I noticed that appc does not compile jsps that are
under WEB-INF. Is this expected? If the jsps are outside of WEB-INF then
              appc works fine...
              Thanks!
              John

Although the client is not allowed to directly access jsps under WEB-INF, it
is perfectly acceptable (and often recommended) to use a front controller to
forward to jsps. Often these jsps are "hidden" in the WEB-INF directory so
that they can't be accessed directly by the client. This pattern works fine
under 8.1 except that appc won't precompile the jsps under WEB-INF (the
container does compile the jsps when they are called). I believe this is a
bug... If jsps are allowed in WEB-INF then appc should compile them...
