Help required on replacing the Superdrive please!

My internal superdrive gave up the ghost a few weeks back and I have been managing fine with a LaCie external DVD burner without a problem. However, i am thinking of selling my iMac to get one of the newer models and would like to replace the superdrive before selling.
I have found these easy to follow instructions on how to remove the existing drive:

This all looks simple enough and was wondering if purchasing the Pioneer DVR-K06 would be a viable option as a replacement drive as it seems to only be about £35 ?

Clearing can be performed, only if the GL account / Vendor account / customer account balance is 0.
In your case the account balance must not be 0.

Error "Sense Key: Media Error" show that disk: SEAGATE Serial Number: XXXXXXXX should be replaced.
It's look like this disk under VxVM control.
Read Docs about replace disk under VxVM control. It can require some spcial steps.

The way you post that, it looks very much like "Do my work for me". Nobody around here likes that kind of post, they consider it lazy and selfish. But perhaps you didn't mean it that way? Why don't you explain what you have done and what parts of it you are having problems with. Explain those problems in detail.

Itunes stopped syncing and says I must restore Ipod. My media videos did not get backed up. I can't replace the videos PLEASE HELPPPP

I need some serious help, PLEASE!!! While I was syncing with Itunes and my ipod touch everything just stopped. Then itunes says I must restore. I didn't get my media file videos backed up and I won't be able to replace the content. (mom 82 YOA playing panio & yodeling etc) Can i do anything to save them? Now my ipod won't do anything. I try to get it to open so I do as told with trying to get the red slider (?) but only get white apple then the itune symbol with the picture of the USB plug & wire below that. Please someone help.

Thank you, but I did that. I de-selected and then re-selected but because the 13019 still won't allow the sync, all it did was completely delete everything on my Ipod! I now have no songs on my Ipod when at least before, I had all my songs but the new 12 songs! I'm freaking!

Annotations can also be processed at run time using the core reflection API (java.lang.Class & java.lang.reflect.*), so you might want to explore down that path. I have no idea how JBoss actually does it, but annotation processing at build time and core reflection at runtime are the two most obvious possibilities.

We have chosen to replace the standard HTML Editor in the Web Page Composer by the TinyMCE Editor. I have worked my way through the document written by Boris Magocsi (https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f04b5c5d-3fd2-2a10-8ab0-8fa90e3ac162) and the TinyMCE Editor is diplayed when we add or edit a paragraph.
However, we can not type any text in the input field anymore and we can not click any of the buttons in the TinyMCE editor. Can anybody help a total Javascript newby with fixing this? Full points will be awarded obviuosly. Thanks in advance!

I was wondering if the superdrive can be replace with an sata 3 hdd or whether it should be a sata2 hdd.
I´ve heard of problems with sata 3 ssd´s as superdrive replacement.

There are many ways to do it, it will all depend on your environment.
The way that works for me is:
1. Deploy your project to SAR (it will actually generate a jar file)
2. Copy the generated file to the environment where it will be deployed
3. Use the ant-sca-deploy.xml to deploy it
ant-sca-deploy.xml will be located at $BEA_HOME/Oracle_SOA1/bin
and you can call it from your own ant build.xml like this:

Replacing the Superdrive with an SSD or HD

I'm thinking of replacing my internal superdrive in my 17" MBP (2.3 i7 early 2011), as I very rarely use it, and could do with more internal portable space...
Can it be done?
Does anyone have any links to tips or guides?
Can anyone recommend specific tools/products I should use?
Can anyone recommend a casing/caddy that I can put the Superdrive into should I wish to use it externally?
Are there any compatibility issues I should be aware of? Particularly with communication with the OS...
Any other comments?

Since a SSD uses less power then a typical spinning HDD I have not noticed and real decrease in battery life.
But then I don't use any of my notebooks on battery that much. My MBP is is 5 weeks old and only has 14 charge cycles on it. My new Dell maybe 5-7 which I got about 1 week before I bought the MBP.
Not sure what you mean by your seconsd question. Are you talking aboth the Superdrive or the second HDD.
Neither with either.
I never unmount the HDD in the Superdrive bay. If the Superdrive is connect by USB cable once you eject the disc it unmounts and does not mount until you put a disc in.
Yes the Superdrive still reads and write the same as far as I can tell. Which IMHO is very SLOW. Even when it was in the case it was slow. Not sure how jyour is but mine was like watching paint dry.
Tthe only thing you can't do is Boot from it. So if for some reason I need to boot something that is on a CD or DVD I image it and then restore to a USB thumb drive. The one reason I did this is about the only time, in the last 3-4 years, that I use a CD/DVD drive is to make MP3s from music CDs or to burn utilities and info to give to someone.
As far as burning I haven't done that yet on the Mac so I don't know for sure but I don't think I'd have a problem.

What drive to replace the superdrive with?

A few days ago the superdrive in my Powermac G4 (MDD - 1.42Ghz) decided to start making tons of circular scratches in any disc that is inserted into the computer. I have a feeling it's going to have to be replaced (actually - this is the second superdrive in the computer. First one was replaced under warantee within the first year... but that's not an option anymore...)
So... what drive should I use to replace it? Is it best to stick with whatever is currently in it - or is it possible to replace it with one of the new dual-layer drives found on dealmac? Most of those don't seem to be specifically mac compatible, but often times things like that work anyway. Does anyone have any experience replacing their superdrive with something else? How does iDVD, itunes, etc. work? Thanks!!!

I installed the Pioneer DVR-111D in my MDD G4 and have not had any problems using it in any applications. I moved the OEM Combo drive down to the second bay and use it as the disk source for copying CDs and DVDs.
BTW, IMO, the 111D is a very quiet and smooth operating drive compared to most optical drives I've heard.
Note, you have to remove the 111D's tray faceplate to use it in the MDD G4 as the faceplate will interfere with the opening and closing of the flapper doors on the MDD G4. Not a big deal, just pry it up gently from the bottom with your fingers and it will pop off.

Sorry, it's unclear what you want.
If you have two NUMBER columns (c and d) and you want to diplay either one or the other, based on a DATE column (dt), then you can use a CASE expression.
For example, if dt is earleir than this year, then you want to display c, and if dt is in the current year or later, then you want to display d:
SELECT ...
,       CASE
            WHEN dt < TRUNC (SYSDATE, 'YY')
            THEN c
            ELSE d
        END   AS c_or_d
...You can use a CASE expression wherever expressions are allowed. For example, either argument to NVL can be a CASE expression.
Whenever you have a question like this, it helps to post some sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements) and the resuts you want from that data.

I can do a replace on <SMALLIMAGE and turn it to <IMG ,
however how do i add the SRC="charcothip.jpg"> ?

How are you replacing it currently? Could you store the
replacement string in a variable and use it instead.

myStr = myArr.join(replacementString);
Obviously, this will only work if you are replacing all of
the <SMALLIMAGE pieces with the same image. If not then you
could use the following:
var searchFor:String = "<SMALLIMAGE";
var newString:String = myStr.substring(0,
myStr.indexOf(searchFor));
newString += replacementString;
newString +=
myStr.substr(myStr.indexOf(searchFor)+searchFor.length);
You can keep the width and height attributes since Flash will
recognize those when rendering the HTML.

Help required to understand the concepts for data files in tablespace

Hi Guys!
Conceptual understanding for data files.
A tablespace is having 2 datafiles.
What once the data files will get full? I know we can create data files but what if there is no space on the server for any additional file to be created?
Do we require to make the oldest file offline and move outside the environment?

ThanksIf the datafiles are full, there is not much that you would get from the "defragmentation" of the datafiles. It would be sort of like this in the start,
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Then it will be ,
FFFFFFFUUUUUFFFFFUUUUUU
So what you are going to get is something like this, (if would be done),
FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU
So that's how the datafile would like. But that won't give you much of the space anyways still. The option to add a storage must be there with you. The file being offline wont take away the space that it has already allocated. And moreover, doing so, would also impact the access to the data that it would be storing within it.
