Help! Speaker no longer works!

My speaker is now longer working! I can only hear someone on the phone is it is on "speaker phone." I've tried doing a soft reset. Any suggestions?

Before you take it in, just try playing something in the ipod app while headphones are plugged in and then pull the headphone cord out. Just a hunch, because I let the phone go to sleep last night with headphones plugged in, pulled them out before awaking the phone and couldn't hear anything. Then a plug in and pull out and all was working fine. First and only time this has happened to me. <<</div>

Speakerphone is a very nice feature and we want you to be able to enjoy it. How long has this issue been happening for? Also, if you try to play music are you able to hear it without headphones or other accessories? Any physical or liquid damage to the phone?

All help menus no longer work after installing Mavericks

After installing Mavericks on my iMac all help menus no longer work. You still get the drop down box which contains the search window and other choices, but if you try clicking on them the screen just flashes or you might get a box that says " safari help is not available". It does this system wide, doesn't matter what application your in. My internet works fine but for some reason in Mavericks the help menus are not accessing this information. Anyone else have this problem? Or an answer?

My speaker does not work after new update ,also bluetooth keeps shutting off . How can i fix this . If I use an external speaker i can hear the radio . If not there is no sound and no adjustment for volume .Can I go back to previous sytem .I also dont care for the new map system .Can i get the other one back ?

Event Log Help Links No Longer Working?

Have the help links in the Windows XP event log entries been discontinued?
They used to open up the Help and Support Center with further information about the Event Log error if it was available.
For some time now they have all just given a "page not found" error, which then re-directs to Bing with offered results that are no use at all!
This happens now on every XP system I've tried it on.
As a user of Windows 8.1 as well as XP, I'm well aware that the Windows 8 Event Log help links have never worked so far, but the XP ones always did, and despite the looming "End of Support" I can see no reason for all that information to have been
removed.
Any explanation for this?

Hi - thank you DaveHawley for the report. Just wanted to confirm that I've passed this on to the team that looks after the redirect service behind the "More Info" link.
There have been some major changes in how this redirection works over the years as well as in the last months. The most recent efforts added the option to enable use of the TechNet Wiki [sample]
to allow the community to comment & contribute for a given component. I'm only guessing here, but this might have accidentally impacted XP.

N70 Phone's Handset speaker no longer works

Can anyone tell me why I suddenly no longer hear calls on my N70 unless I have a headset plug or go to loudspeaker. Its like all of a sudden my handset no longer works.

Sounds like you've got a faulty earpiece...
Backup your phone, and reset it to factory settings... not that I think that will work, but it's worth a try...
If not, take it to a Nokia Service Centre and they should be able to sort it for you.

My speaker no longer works in Ipad 2 after 7.1.1 update

I recently updated my ipad 2 to ios 7.1.1 and my speaker stopped working,one day everything worked fine, the next no speaker, I am not a happy camper. The volume control no longer controls the volume only sound effects and the mute button only controls screen lock or sound effects mute.
if I plug in headphones then my volume controls return and it works fine, but disappears once I remove the headphones.
I have tried, rebooting, resetting, etc, followed half a dozen "fixes" online, none work of course.
took my device to the apple store on the opposite side of town, waited in line to speak to someone who tells me a) I need to make an appointment to see an expert, which is what I thought I was standing in line for. B) if its a speaker they need to replace my device and it will cost me $250 for a 32GB Ipad, or I could go online and use chat, but apparently my warranty is out so they wanted $20 to answer my question thru chat or phone, to tell me my warranty is out and I need to pay $250 for a new one.
I don't understand why I need to pay $250 for something APPLE did to my device, especially seeing multiple complaints online for the same issue.
can anyone help me? Can I rollback the firmware? This is ridiculous.

Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings for Wi-Fi, FaceTime, Message, Home Sharing, Wall Paper, Sound etc will be reset

Please help:Midipipe no longer works after Garageband/iMac upgrades

Hi. I was wondering if anyone could help. I use my Yamaha Dtxplorer electronic drums to record drums on my iMac's Garageband program. I use a program called "midipipe" to assign the correct midi drum pad sounds before the signal goes into Garageband, and then I use the "EZdrummer" plug-in to get more realistic drums sounds. Here's the problem. In June 2011, I upgraded my iMac to "Snow Leopard" (Mac OS 10.6.7), and at the same time, I upgraded Garageband to Garageband '11 (ie Garageband 2011). Now that I did those 2 upgrades, I can no longer get midipipe to work in any way. There are NO drums sounds coming out through midipipe now, and when trying to tweak the settings, there is no longer any way to click the "hijack" checkbox on the midipipe "midi in" setting. The "hijack" button is now "greyed-out" and cannot be selected. Now I can no longer use my drums with Garageband, which is really, really disheartening. It seems like all I run into with my iMac and Garageband is nothing but problems and glitches that are making me considering recording my music on a Windows computer, and ditching my iMac altogether. I've already tried repeatedly to create new "pipes" with midipipe, but nothing will work since I cannot select the "hijack" button anymore. This problem occurred only after the Garageband and iMac upgrades, and midipipe used to work PERFECTLY with garageband and ezdrummer before. Nothing else in my set-up has changed.
If anyone has ANY possible solutions, please help. I've wasted so much time with this computer already. All I want is for it to work properly. Thank you very much in advance.

Hi JMX. No, I've had no luck trying to figure out the problem, which started ever since I upgraded my iMac and upgraded Garbageband. No replies except yours, and I googled a bunch of web pages trying to find an answer. The guy who programmed the Midipipe program didn't reply either. I'm thinking about getting a Windows computer to record music, along with Protools. Have horrible luck with Garageband since the day I bought my iMac, unfortunately. Nothing but glitches and problems.
But I wish you (and anyone else running into the same problem) the best of luck. I just don't have the patience for the contstant obstacles when trying to use an Apple Mac to record songs.

Measurement Studio help reference no longer works correctly.

I've recently loaded a new version of MSDN (Oct. 2001) and Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0(the latest as of July 2003. Now the hyperlinks in the Measurement Studio Reference give an error that indicates it cannot no longer find the linked information.

The help file problem was due to a missing Microsoft update that had not been installed on my system.
The problem arose because Microsoft had fixed a security vulnerability in the IE. Their security fix caused the "side effects" I described and which needed a patch. In essense, I had one update that caused a problem, but did not get the second update to fix the first problem,.
The missing Microsoft update immediately fixed the help files' non-working hyperlink problem.
Thank you very much for taking the time to look into the help file problem I was having.

My built-in speaker no longer works on iPhone 4

it is less than a month old and i have an Otter cover for it. When i took the cover off after this happened a few days ago the sound came back through the speaker. Now it no loger works whether the cover is on or off.

Help: Camera No Longer Works Properly after Software Update

I can no longer use my blackberry camera outdoors. Even if I set the white balance to outdoors, the entire image is white. I used to be able to take brilliant, clear pictures outdoors in direct sunlight. I even used to be able to take pictures of the sky. Now, even on overcast days, all I get is a white mass of nothing.
I'm really upset because I used to use the camera a lot.
It's also really slow in moving from the camera app back to the main screen.
Is there a way to uninstall the software updates or restore the phone to factory (pre update) settings?

Yes, you can install your older OS (check your carrier website for the download) to your PC.
Then you can downgrade to the old OS.

Right speaker no longer works?

Hey everyone. So the right speaker on my Macbook Pro just stopped working properly. When I go into the system preferences > sound > output and try to just have it come out of the right speaker (instead of having it balanced between the 2), it comes out really quiet and with this weird echoing/tinging sound. Any advice? There hasn't been any damage or injury to the computer... Thanks!

Without knowing exactly what is wrong, hard to tell if MBP is worth getting fixed. An Apple Store will diagnosis the problem for free. Ask them how much the repairs will be. Once you find out what the problem is, call an AASP & ask about the cost of repairs. May be cheaper than an Apple Store.

External Speaker no longer working

Okay - I've only had my phone a month - no damage - didn't get it wet and have checked that the volume was on. However, the ringer, speakerphone, etc isn't working. I have used headphones with it and read somewhere that it can sometimes not register that they've been removed. However, I've tried plugging them in and removing them and that hasn't fixed it. I've also tried leaving the battery out overnight.
Anyone have any ideas?

Hello DNS84 and welcome to the forums!
I think in your situation you should look into reloading the software on the device. Just make sure you back up your data before proceeding so you can have a copy of it. Of course the application loader will take of this for you by default.
1) Here is how you back up your device.
2) Here is how you reload the software cleanly on the device.
3) Here is how you restore your data to the device if it is not backed up automatically.

Crazy Headphone problem? Speaker no longer works in some cases

Basically my phone work just fine. But when I get a call I have to put it on speaker phone to listen to anything. Also when I adjust the volume it always indicates Headphone.
and Yes I do not have my headphones in. I looked at the cleaning thing and that is not the problem as the iPhone does detect that the headphones are pulled out.
I restored, rebooted, checked settings, you name it. Nothing comes out of the speakers when you touch the keyboard no clicks and yes these are all enabled.
I have not as of yet enabled Bluetooth devices, but turned that off also.
Everything seems to work fine if I do use the headphone.
Any ideas? driving me crazy...

I still think the problem lies in your headset jack. Maybe plugging in/out 20-30 times?
Also, try resetting your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
If this doesn't work, try restoring. See p. 141 of the manual... http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPhone_UserGuide.pdf
