Help! Starting Weblogic in Debug Mode

Hi there
Any clues/suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Has anyone experienced any difficulties when starting weblogic in debug mode.
More specifically, it cannot start correctly because it thinks that another instance
is using the same port (definately not the case).
Error log follows:

The following error has nothing to do with running in debug mode?
It just means that there's another process already binded to port 8320
you might want to see the output of netstat -a
BTW, what flags you switched on to run the server in debug mode?

Unfortunatley the port is definately free/available during startup.

Before starting your server, please could you check that the port is
not used by one
other process. You can use the netstat command to do this.

After restarted weblogic, in eclipse set your breakpoint , open debug perspective then choose Remote Java Appliction and configure Connection Properties (host=localhost and port=3999)

messages in the shell window where you started the server?

How to start weblogic in debug mode from BEA WebLogic Eclipse plugin

I have a problem making weblogic work with eclipse3.1. I am using a BEA WebLogic plugin to handle weblogic (start/stop) from eclipse. However I want to debug my application and I am unable to figure out a way to start my weblogic in debug mode like we do in WSAD. I tried using some other plugins also but no luck. Please suggest me a plugin to handle this or any other way of debugging my application from eclipse. I am using weblogic 8.1.

Created a server that i would like to deploy my EJB so that i can put break points on my EJB in eclipse.
How do i do it?
I managed to deploy an ear (containing the ejb) directly to the weblogic installed folder and it deployed the ejb. But the breakpoint set in eclipse is not triggered. Of course in this case as weblogic server is running the .ear file deployed manually in the file system.
Any help is appreciated.

OC4J - Starting container in debug mode

When the container is started in debug mode, start-up messages are referring
to XAtransactions. This is causing a bit of confusion as we?re not using
distributedtransactions. Is this an internal message ? The message is:
Null: Connection XAXA Orion Pooled jdbc_oracle:thin:10.106.50.18.1521:EAGRI
allocated (pool size+ 0) .
Any help would be appreciated.

Devloper system configuration (weblogic in debug mode on Eclipse/windows)

Hi,
I work on a project, which we may consider as big. Couple of thousads of java files, muilti-tired. We use, weblogic in eclipse on widows for development. Curreltly we have 1G ram on each of developer mechines. But most of us are complaining that, system is running slow in debug mode. Sometimes, we can't even work.
I greatly appreciate if somebody can point me to the URL or suggestion for good system configuration, so that we can work comfortably.
Just asking to increase the RAM may not help me in convencing the business/management. If there any specific recommandations by either by BEA or IBM (eclipse), that helps me a lot in raising the same to our buisness.

Starting Server in Debug Mode - Need Some Advice Plz.

Hi Guys,
I have an EP SP 12 Server Running and I am trying to Start the Server in Debug mode from the Netweaver Developer Studio but when I right click the Server and try to choose Debug, the option is greyed out and even while viewing the Debug option from the SAPMMC I see that under the column Debug, it say 'Disabled' for the Server and Dispatcher.
Can anyone suggest how this can be done, I would appreciate any help as I have been working on this for some time.

Hi John,
If the you cannot start the server in the debugging mode through the NWDS then you can try the other way round.
Through Config Tool:
You can enable the debuggine mode from the Config Tool as well. Just visit the following path :
C:\usr\sap\<SID>\JC<SYS_NO>\j2ee\configtool\configtool.bat
Click on the your instance. Then under the tab VM Environment, Set the DebugMode = true.
Restart the engine now. This will open the J2EE server again in the Debug Mode.

Whenever the server starts it does not start in debug mode.
One has to manually start the "SDM" and "Server0" in the debug mode.
Is there a way I can make the server start in debug mode for the first time itself.

Hi Saurabh,
You can start the server in debug mode using config tool. Just open cofig tool (/usr/sap/<SYS ID>/JC<SYS NR>/j2ee/configtool/configtool.bat).
Click on the your instance. Then under the tab Servers Debug check Debuggable and also Enable Debug mode.
Restart the engine now.
However a word of caution: Starting the server in debug mode decreases the system performance. You should only start the dev server in debug mode.

I have started my AS Java in Debug Mode. Now, the Portal is down, shing the following error message:

Help putting BC4J in debug mode

Hi,
I would like to put the BC4J in debug mode. I already see that bc4j.xcfg can have properties like:
jbo.debugoutput
jbo.debug.prefix
jbo.jdbc.trace
jbo.logging.show.timing
jbo.logging.show.function
But where the messages appears when i run my application in iAs 1.0.2.2 with mode Jserv.

why does the Java /bin appear twice?
why don't you use the JAVA_HOME variable that you set? don't repeat yourself.

Running weblogic in debug vm

Hello,
I have been trying to start weblogic in debug mode, so that I can connect
to it from a distributed debbugging ide, like visual cafe. I want to be
able to do this manually. I have been using visual cafe, and while it
has a menu option for starting the weblogic server in debug mode,
it only allows this if you are working on an 'ejb project' in visual cafe.
Unfortunately, visual cafe, at this point, is so buggy, that I have
resorted to completely avoiding the ejb project wizards. I just
want to use it for compiling and debugging, but I want to only
use generic java projects, so that it doesn't try to do a bunch
of stuff, which inevitably gets it all confused.

I am sorry that you are unable to get it to work. Unfortunately, the best
place for you to find information on how to use visual cafe with WebLogic is

Remote Debug mode while starting Weblogic server using my eclipse plugin

Hi
When am starting the Weblogic server via my eclipse it is opening in Remote Debug mode. Can anyone tell me how do I change the preferences/configure so that it doesnt run in debug mode.
NOTE:I have deployed the application and ran number of times, till yesterday it wasn't starting in this mode, though I haven't changed any settings since then, it is starting in Remote Debug mode.
