Help!  Strange video distortion after importing film onto IPHONE.

So I used Compressor H.264 to create an .m4v file to play my film on an IPhone. For the most part it sounds and looks great. But in two separate spots this weird video distortion occurs in a part of the frame. It's like these large squares of video appear for a second or two, then disappear. The really strange part is that it's always in the same two spots. I tried re-compressing the file thinking it mignt be a problem in the pressing. Watching the files on my comp using Itunes or Quicktime player there is no distortion. But once the movie is synced onto the Iphone it's always the same result. Those wierd digital shifting cubes pop up at the exact same two spots. No matter how many times I re-compress. Any ideas? I'm at a loss and I gotta figure this out in the next few hours.

Here is an article from the apple support website that might help out.

  • Video Screen dimming while filming using iPhone 6

As you can see in this video..
it seems as if a light was turned off while in fact nothing happened...
And this has occured in several videos which i have filmed using iPhone 6

    UPDATE
So, after working with the guys at Apple, they were able to provide a solution.  Now I have no problems using Home Sharing with my iPhone 6 Plus!!!
(I should add that I have the Linksys Advanced Dual-Band N Router (E2500))
The issue was fixed by giving one of the wi-fi channels a different name, thus splitting the channels into 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.  Then, I connected my iPhone to one channel (2.4 GHz) and my MacBook Pro to the other channel (5GHz).  In this configuration, I have had no issues streaming my music and video.
It seems that the problem is some kind of interference between both devices when using the same channel (i.e., when both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz channel share the same name).

  • Barrel distortion after import (Aperture 3.5.1)

I've noticed before now that when I import any photos to Aperture, it applies some sort of automatic adjustment the first time the photo is viewed. It's usually just a slight thing, almost as though the contrast has been put up a little bit. It's something like a 'deepening' effect on the images. It isn't anything I've set (no preset or adjustments have been applied at this point), but it nevertheless affects every photo that I import.
I just got a 35mm f/1.8 lens for my Nikon, and started testing it out by shooting in raw (.NEF), just for the fun of it. When I imported the shots to Aperture, the same effect happened as before, only much more exaggerated; higher contrast, more saturation, and a certain amount of barrel distortion seems to have been applied. I don't know if this is Aperture attempting to reduce distortion that it detects, or what it might be doing, but it definitely is doing something to alter the photo. This lens has much less distortion than I was expecting, and in-camera it performs beautifully -- but after importing to Aperture the photos take on a weird look. This is particularly a problem when shooting in raw, while JPEG shots don't seem to be effected by distortion.
    Any help with this issue?
    Thanks!

What you are seeing is the difference between the in-camera raw processing and lens distortion correction, that is applied to the camera generated jpeg previews, and the naked raw files, that is Aperture presenting you.
When you first import a raw image, you will see the preview generated by the camera. This preview will show all incamera processing, including Nikon's  lens correction.  After loading the image, Aperture will replace the camera preview by a preview rendered from the raw.
Aperture does not do lens correction to correct any barrel distortion. If you are shooting raw, you will see the naked raw without any in-camera processing applied in Aperture.
If you want to profit from Nikon's in-camera processing, import the jpegs with the highest quality setting and not thr raw files. Or use lens-correction software like the Aperture plug-in PTLens.

  • Strange overbright effect after importing the movie

Im trying to convert my HD (sony sr7)underwater video to a dvd, but somehow after importing in Imovie the sandy bottom of the ocean turns overbright. I've tried importing as large and as full but got the same overbright effect.
For instance the sunlight that reflects on the coral, is also incredibly bright, the coral disappears for a bright white spot.
When i try the same on my pc with Sony picture motion browser, the result is like it should be. But then i miss the editing abilities of imovie....
Anyone got an idea how to darken those spots ? Or even better get a decent import ?

There are many formats you can export to. It is possible to choose just quicktime or mpeg4 that I choosed.
SP means shortplay. But I want to say LP what means longplay. I recorded another movie in SP and now I don't have the problem anymore.
So a dvd in LP mode ripped to mpeg4 with DVDxDV causes problems with a twisted screen after importing to iMovie 08.
In SP mode there is no problem anymore.
    Thank you!

  • FCP Video Distorted While Importing & Playback Issues

While importing a Mini DV off of my Sony DVCAM deck there are some moments lately where the video playback and importing is distorted. There are four vertical lines that are pixelated with multi color over the video that is playing back. It happens on and off. This just happened and I play the video source from my camcorder everything looks fine. On top of that there are moments when I can control my deck through FCP but there is no video playing back in FCP. Am I missing something? This just popped up considering I have imported footage before with no problems. Anyone have a clue? Thankx
    iMac G5 Mac OS X (10.4.2)

Try capturing a short segment using iMovie.
If it works, you most likely have a Quicktime issue.
Often in upgrading the OS, QT or FCP for some odd reason QT will get knocked slightly off kilter. The usual solution it to force a full reinstall of QT.
    This is how:
Go to /library/receipts and delete any files that say Quicktime followed by a number e.g. Quicktime703.pkg
Go to the Apple quicktime site and download the appropriate version of Quicktime to your hard drive.
    Run the Quicktime installer.
    Reboot
Repair Disk Permissions for your System Disk (Disk Utility > Select the system disk > Repair Disk Permissions)
    Good luck.

  • Help Needed : Video Glitch after exporting from Premiere Pro CC

    Hi all ,
I have been experiencing this issue for sometime now. I occasionally encounter a video glitch after exporting a video from Premiere Pro CS6 or CC. Sometimes it happens in my NLE timeline , which I have to remove the affected clip that has the glitch/flicker problem from my bin and re-import the clip from my original source, which solves the problem.
However , the worst part is when the glitch/flicker happens when I have already exported the video when everything seems fine in the timeline of Premiere . My sequence settings do match with the clip . This issue happens intermittently as I always have to hope for the best when the video exports.
Here is an Example of what I mean, the glitch/flicker happens at 3:28 of the music video.
Hopefully those who have the same issue can share how to troubleshoot this problem . Thank you.
    Regards,
    Elias Lo

  • Music Distortion after ripping CDs onto iTunes

This is really frustrating me now.
Just recenlty I purchased a brand new CD and ripped it onto me iTunes but i sounds distorted and generally bad. I don't know why this is happening as its never happened before and i've tried everything all my drivers are updated and I've re-ripped it over and over. On Windows media player though it also sounds distorted and i've tried it on another PC with iTunes and it works fine. I ripped another CD which also sounded terrible and i just deleted it. After a while though it seems as thoughit just "got better" and now it sounds fine, but when i went to rip the CD i orginally deleted, it sounds distorted again. I have no idea in what i did in order to make it better and am desperate to find a solution to this issue

  • Why is my video choppy after importing?

    Howdy!
I am on a quest to find a video editing software that actually works with my computer, and it seems like Adobe Premiere elements is in first place so far. Which isn't saying much because I am still having a lot of troubles using this software.
I am recording myself using a webcam & I am using the Windows Media Encoder software to record. From there, I am importing my .wmv file into adobe premiere elements. Whenever I play my imported video in the main window, it lags terribly. The video will play fine for about a second, then it will only show frame by frame clips of the movie with about a second in between each frame. The audio, however, is not lagging at all.
I am confused on why this would be happening. I just recently bought a computer to record and produce music with. I spec'd it so that it could handle recording stuff no problem...however I know the one area I skimped out on was my video card. Here are the specs of my computer:
    >Model: ASUS Desktop PC M11AD Series
    >Processor: Intel Core i7-4770S CPU @ 3.10 GHz
    >RAM: 8.00 GB
    >Operating system: Windows 8.1 64 bit
My processor comes with integrated graphics, so that I is what I am using for my graphics card. It's called Intel HD Graphics 4600. I know that integrated graphics are not ideal to edit movies with, but I thought I could get away with the bare essentials to make simple movies with. However, I am getting very poor performance when I watch my video so I am thinking that my graphics card could be causing the problem.
I have seen suggestions to "Render the Work Area", which I have actually tried. It is not working on my computer. For some reason, it will not render my video! All that happens whenever I press the render button, it just plays the video....
I have also monitored my RAM when playing the video to see if I am running out of RAM...my tests showed that I maxed out around 45% Memory usage when playing the video. Isn't 45% not straining the system too much?
I also was recommended to download the program GPU-Z to monitor some outputs of my video card. There are two different fields, "Memory Usage (Dedicated)" and "Memory Usage (Dynamic)". I monitored both of these while recording and the Dedicated was at 0 MB and the Dynamic didn't go higher than 116 MB. This doesn't seem like it is straining the graphics card...this won't be the problem will it?
Can anyone shed some light onto what is happening with my computer?
Is it a software issue with Adobe premiere elements?
Any help would be much appreciated...I have 2 days left with my Adobe trial. I would really like it if I could get adobe working properly...I can justfiy buying it if I can figure out what is wrong with mine!
    Thanks,

Background Information on Project Settings (Project file aka Project.Prel)
The output from these screen capture programs can be highly problematic for Premiere Elements. Sometimes the capture output format does not import completely as well as has a variety of other workflow issues. But, before blaming the screen capture program, you need to assure that you know the properties of your source media and that you (manually) or the project (automatically) set the project preset to match the properties of the source media. Once that is done you are good to go in the Edit area, deciding between project glitches and video incompatibilities.
With versions 11 and 12, the project took over the role of setting the project preset in the new project dialog. So, typically you do not get to see the new project dialog. The default project preset is NTSC AVCHD Full HD1080i30 or its PAL counterpart. When you import your video and drag it to the Expert workspace Timeline, the project automatically sets the project preset based on the properties of the first video drag to the Timeline. Sometimes it does it correctly; sometimes not. When not, the result is not the closest fit but rather the project default NTSC AVCHD Full HD1080p30 or its PAL counterpart. More details on this are in my blog post on the subject, and writeup includes the how to on how to set the project preset manually.
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE11: Accuracy of Automatic Project Preset (New Project Dialog) Setting
You can find out what the project has set automatically from the readings of Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Size, and Pixel Aspect Ratio found Edit Menu/Project Settings/General.
    What Next....
Is the video properties information that you posted above and which I have summarized below those of the video that you are importing into Premiere Elements and having problems with the preview?
    1280 x 720 @ 29.97 progressive frames per second
Video Compression = Windows Media Video 9
Audio Compression = Windows Media Audio 9.2
    File Extension = .wmv
If so, please start a new project and set the project preset manually to
    NTSC
    FLIP
Flip Mino HD and Ultra HD 29_97p
For details for manual project preset setting see that information in the lower section of
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE11: Accuracy of Automatic Project Preset (New Project Dialog) Setting
Then back in the Expert workspace of 12, import your 1280 x 720p30 using Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets from where you drag the file to the Timeline Video Track 1/Audio Track 1. When the file arrives in the Timeline, is there an orange line over its content or no colored line?
If you do see that orange render indicator line, then please press the Enter key of the computer main keyboard to Timeline render the file. Is there any difference in the playback of the unrendered vs the rendered here? I am hoping that you do not see any colored line there and that the video plays back OK since no Timeline rendering needed nor possible. But, let us see.
The part of this is for you to let us know where that other .wmv came from, the one that you say had no problems at playback in Premiere Elements Edit area.
By the way, is your web cam recognized by Premiere Elements12 and its Add Media/Web cam or WDM?
    More later.
Thanks for your follow up. I think that you have made so significant gains.

  • Can you fix your help project (via coding) after importing a topic from an output file by mistake?

Yes - I admit it - I imported html topic files from an output folder of another RH project into the help project I am currently working on (the source files were lost and I needed to bring over a lot of legacy content in a hurry). However, I completely forget that the RH output html file contains unique Java scripting that is used to render the topic properly in a browser, but that same Java Script causes havoc when you open it up in as a source file in another RH Project. Needless to say, it has caused numerous weird things when I went to publish and view my files (but, surprisingly, you don’t really see or notice them in the RH Design WYSIWYG view or preview mode).
The bad news is that it took about 2 weeks for me to notice the issue (the help output is viewed on a special console running Linux with a QT browser that I only view occasionally). The good news is that is that I figured out what the problem was (that took some hours) and I can restore my help project back to a time before I did the "naughty deed".
    I am now at a crossroads - do I:
Try to re-enter all of my content from the last two weeks? (Actually, to avoid repeating the same mistake twice, I will need to re-enter the text manually and NOT cut and paste from the RH output files!)
Or locate and find the offending HTML coding in my topic files (if that is even possible)? Has anybody documented what the RH output file JavaScript code injects into your files, and what files they affect?

OK - here is the documentation of this weird issue (hopefully, you can read the htlm code in the screen images):
    1. In this topic, I cut and pasted some text into the table you see at the bottom of the screen. I had to reapply the “TableBody” style to this text. After doing this, I moved my cursor to the “Keyboard" text on top. Notice that it is displaying the "TABLEBODY" style, although visually, it is displaying the correct style on screen (“Heading 1”).
    2.     In HTML view, notice the addition of the class= “TableBody”> code for this “Keyboard” text.
    3.   I then reselected Heading 1 for this “Keyboard” text.
    4.   Notice that the class= “TableBody”> code is now removed for this “Keyboard” text and has just the proper <h1> tagged assigned.

  • HD clips have video stutter after import

New problem with Sony HDR-SR5 import:
2 of 10 clips from recent vacation have video stutter/jerkiness upon import. All other clips are fine. The two clips that stutter in iMovie 08 play fine on the videocamera. I have never seen this before. I have reimported the abnormal clips, but no change. The audio is okay; it is just the video Any ideas?
    Mark

*How comforting* ( for me alas ) to find I'm not alone with this problem.
    Config: iMac-Intel - 2,16MHz, 1Go RAM, 320Go internal drive, 500Go USB external drive, OS-X 10,4,11 ( Tiger ) IMovie 7,1,1, SONY HDR-SR5E
My first few imports worked fine, then Imovie started to quit and 2 other movie sequences were corrupted ( stuttering image ) no matter how long they lasted or which HDD I decided to store them to.
Apparently other posters have signaled this to Apple, but that unfortunately does not help us getting on with our respective work.
It would seem there are only 2 solutions while we wait -
FCE = hand in wallet, or
Just copy the files from the SONY directly to a HDD location and wait for the Imovie issue to be solved.
Maybe unplug my Firewire Presonus Firebox ?????
All futher comments and possible work-arounds welcome naturally.

  • Video Distortion after burning i.e. "tracing"

Hello all. I have been working on this project for a couple weeks now. I do a lot of "copy and paste" edits where people bring in dvd's and other media and want me to put together a demo disc or something of that sort. This high school student has brought me a bunch of basketball footage I have imported and created a nice dvd. While watching it in FCP and DVDSP the video looks fine. Once I push it to DVD there is a massive amount of distortion, in the form of "tracing" following the basketball players on the court, to the point where it has become nauseating. I have fooled around with my settings in DVDSP and have not been able to fix this.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have my encoding setting set at Two Pass VBR
    Bit rate - 7.6
    Max Bit Rate 8.9
It is a short video compilation, maybe about 15-20 mins long
    Thanks in advance.

nothing quite so dramatic. We can't see it but I'm guessing you're seeing interlacing artifacts. My guess is that the interlacing got out of step somewhere. The easiest thing is just to make your video progressive out of compressor. then the DVD player can deal with it.
How are you getting your video from FCP to DVD SP? The ideal way is to go through compressor. And in there you can switch your rendered output to progressive, that is remove the interlacing. Of course it's a guess from here. I'd do a test of one of the tracks and put it back on the DVD and see what happens. You'll have to make sure you remove the old track from the DVD.

  • Distortion after importing songs, same tune sounds WAY better in WMP!

At first I thought it was a hardware problem with one of our IPODs, but after transferring the tunes from one IPOD that died to another, and hearing the same problem, I have confirmed that the same song (Sufjan Stevens's "Flint") sounds terrible when played off the CD in ITunes (latest version)(very noticeable distortion, an AM radio sounds better), and also when imported, no matter what format ("AAC" supposedly being the "best"), while the very same song off the CD sounds great (noticeably louder at the same speaker volume level) and richer, with no distortion in the piano) when played in Windows Media Player. So what gives? I read that Apple brags about "CD quality" sound but nobody warned me it would be so hard to make a quality transfer of tunes from a CD to an IPod. Anyone else experienced a similar problem?
    IPOD 15GB   Windows XP

    Yes!
Exactly the same problem. Got a pair of expensive shure earphones, no eq settings and not excessive volume.
i ripped radiohead amnesiac at apple lossless(!) and there is a very noticable distortion on some tracks on my 5g ipod
    i really cant understand this

  • Help with video playback after updating to 3.1

Hi there, after updating to 3.1 on my 2nd gen iPod Touch, I restored it and loaded some videos I converted. On playing those files, the video would play normally until at a random point the video frame would freeze, while the audio continues to play. If I quit the video app and go back to the video, it would play again normally for maybe 1 minute and then the video frame would freeze again, while audio still continues.
These video files were working perfectly before I updated to 3.0, so I doubt that there is a problem with the files. Could someone suggest what I should do in this situation? Should I revert the firmware back to what it was before updating to 3.0?
Thanks in advance for your help!

I have the same issue, except that if I let it go on for a few secomds the video eventually catches up. I am also watching converted videos, and mine are in mp4 format. I haven't tried m4v yet but this is still a bug that Apple should fix.

  • Video distortion when importing MOV file into Premiere Pro

On my mac my premiere is having issues when I import .Mov files. I was shooting on my Canon 70D DSLR at 30frames and when I import files the playback breaks up and is distorted at various points. It doesn't seem like all the files are doing this only some of them have this problem when they are imported. The footage was all shot under the same settings in the same 3 hour period. I tried exporting files and the distortion is still present in the exported media file. I've attached a screen shot of what it looks like.

Interesting that it's on the same frames ... have you certain effects that would impact those more than others?
Also ... only 8Gb RAM, sounds like one internal that's pretty much stuffed, and footage on an external ... PrPro runs a ton of crap through both the CPU & the GPU (depending on what you're doing and how much it "likes" your GPU/Vram)  and also writes massive files to the database, media cache, and through the CPU use the OS's system cache typically. You've got a LOT of readin'/writin' going on, and with only 40Gb free there's not a lot of free space for things to be just parked for random access in a moment or two.
Also curious ... what's the connection to the external? USB2 or 3? Thunderbolt? eSATA?
