HELP!  Two iPhones, One iTunes Account...

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law both have iPhones and they share an account.  He just called me to sign in and find his iPhone because he can't find it and it pulls up his wife's.  I knew this would happen if they share an account, but is there any way to retrieve the location of HIS phone?

It doesn't matter that they have the same iTunes username and password. Like I said earlier, we do that here and it will show all phones. You said in the earlier post "Mr Smartypants doesn't have the app on there" and I told you he doesn't have to have the app on the phone. The app is to track "other" devices, not his own. It just needs to be activated as I said in my earlier post.If it isn't found, he either didn't activate it, the battery is dead, the phone is off, or it wasn't lost, it was stolen and the thief has powered it off, remove the SIM, turned off Find my iPhone or location services or has restored the phone.

  • Photostream not working - two iphones, one itunes account, two icloud accounts

    Hello,
My wife and I both have iphones (both 4s). I have had mine for some time and she got hers last week.
We have one itunes account. We have two icloud accounts.
We cannot get shared photostreams to - my phone will not receive invites from hers. It works the other way round though.
All the settings are correct and switched on.
Please don't send me to the FAQ page as I have tried everything on there to no avail
    Thanks
    Matt

The quickest and easiest thing to do is take the desired iPhone and connect it to the desired iTunes account. This most likely will erase and data on the iPhone and replace it with the data from the itunes account it is connected to.

  • Two iphones, one iTunes account, two icloud accounts

    Hi,
I have two iPhones, one  privat, one from my company.
    I would like ...
... to have all music, apps, books bought via iTunes to be on both iPhones - use same Apple ID for iTunes account?
... seperate calender, contacts, todos - use different Apple IDs for iCloud?
Is there still a way to have all pictures taken in one common photo stream?

I have the same question.  My daughter and I share an apple account which is fine, but now I am getting some of her texts and each time I send her one I get a duplicate?  I thought I messed this up when we tried to Facetime each other and I have deleted all those options.  How do I fix it so I have my own texts and she has her own texts, I don't get duplicate texts but she can still access our I tunes account?  Please help

  • Two ipads one itunes account

Old story, heard many times before I'm sure...two ipads, one itunes account. How do I set it up so one ipad is not always syncing the other's data etc?

You select the exact content that you want to sync to each device. You can use one iTunes account with 6 iPads. You just have to set your sync preferences the way that you want them to be set for each device.
    Using apps as the example....
    Sync with iTunes.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Apps Tab on the right.
Click on all of the apps that you want to sync.
Click on the Sync Apps Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
You do the same thing in every tab in iTunes. Select the content that you want to sync to that particular iPad and iTunes will remember the configuration the next time that you sync.

  • Two macs -- one iTunes account -- one mobileme account

ok, so i hope i can get my question across correctly. thanks in advance for those of you that help. i have a macbook pro, along with an iPhone and an iPad. my husband has an iMac and an iPad. we both want to be able to use the same iTunes account but we both want to be able to sync our iPad's & iPhone to our own computers. we both also want to sync in mobileme. my questions:
    1. how do we sync both computers to one iTunes account?
    2. do we both need to have a separate mobileme account?

This might be just the place to post my question.
First, I'm on Windows Vista ... not a mac ... and I do not own MobleMe ... wondering if someone has suggestios for me concernign sharing an iTunes account between me and my wife.
Currently, my wife and I have separate Windows Logons ... and we each have our own respective iTunes account.   She syncs her iTunes with her iPhone, and I sync my iTunes with my iPad and iPhone.
I'm interesting in merging our separate iTunes accounts into one for the purpose of not having to purchase duplicate apps that we each will be wanting in the future.  (She doesn't know it yet, but she's going to get her own iPad for a surprise present.)
Looks like we are going to repurchase all her paid apps and place those into my account ... (she has fewer paid apps than I have, and that seems to be the least expensive way to start off.)
    So... Here's my question:
Is it better to have her sign off permantly from her installed iTunes Account, and sign back on as "me" ... then download all the apps I have already bought that she wants?   ( I.e.  have two separate iTunes installations - both using the same login ID and password ... but personally configured to our liking).
    ... OR ...
Is it better to delete her installation of her iTunes Account and just start using mine ... again configured to her liking by checking which apps should install her her devices and which should be installed to my devices?
    =============
Right now, she has her own music and I have mine ...
I'm open to any suggestions about PROs and CONs of each method ...
    Thanks for sharing

  • Two iPhone, One iTunes Music Library?

Hi there! New here so thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Both my husband and I have iPhone 3Gs. We do not want to sync everything since we both have different apps as well as different items in contacts, calendars, notes, etc.
All I'd like to do is share our music library by syncing to only one iTunes account. Currently, we use home share, but it's difficult to remember exactly which songs I added to my library so that he can drag them to his phone, then sync.
Is there any way to accomplish syncing JUST MY SONGS/VIDEOS to his iPHONE by connecting his iPhone to MY to my computer?
I'm looking for a way that he could still sync to HIS computer for his apps, calendar, contact, notes information to be stored safely. I'm just looking for an easy way to get our music/videos to both phones without using homeshare.
We do not have MobileMe as we were very unhappy with it and canceled it, not that that has anything to do with it, just trying to anticipate any questions.
Thanks for any help you can give me!

Yes, this is currently what we do. I'm looking for another option. I upload new songs to my iTunes on almost a daily basis. To keep both computers iTunes libraries identical, I would have to go in and delete all HIS music/videos, then via Homeshare, drag all mine over to his. I don't want to have to do this on a daily basis as it's very time consuming.
I'm looking for a way to attach his iPhone to my computer via USB and transfer my SONGS and MOVIES ONLY to his computer. Afterwards, he will need to sync his iPhone to his own computer for his Apps, contacts, calendars, etc.
I'm just not sure if this is even possible.

  • Two Macs, One iTunes account

I have a mac book and mac mini. Both are authorized computers on my one iTunes account. How can I sync their libraries? Each has some different purchases.

There are a few utilities that can help you sync iTunes across different computers. You could begin your research by having a look at these for instance:
    TuneRanger
    SuperSync
    syncOtunes
You can also look at this page for other methods to copy purchases: iTunes for Mac: How to copy purchases between authorized computers

  • Two ipads, two PC, one itunes account

    Hi,
I bought a first Ipad and it works perfectly with my PC and my itunes account, then my wife bougth her personal ipad so now we have two and of course she wants to sync it with her PC and not mine, but of course we want to share the bought apps and so we would like to use only one itunes account.
So I installed itunes on my wife's PC, registered with my account. Now I don't understand how I must behave in odert to upload in her PC all the apps we bought so that when she syncs se find all the stuff I have and can upload her docs, her books, her photos and so on. I tried to copy all the apps I found on my PC to hers but they don't appear to the itunes window so I've no idea what to do...
    Thanks
    Andrea

When you copied the apps to the computer, did you put them in the Mobile Applications folder, and then in iTunes did 'File > Add Folder to Library' with that folder so as to tell iTunes that there was new content in it ? You can also re-download the apps from the iTunes store for free (using the same account that they were originally downloaded with) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

  • Two devices, one itunes account, push notifications not working

We just got an iPhone and use an iPod touch. Figured it was easier to just use one iTunes account, since we had plenty of apps already purchased on the Touch.
Loaded the apps on the iPhone, and now apps like CNN, ESPN, Outside, etc won't get push notifications. Facebook, Words with Friends, and any other app my wife is logged into gets them, but apps not requiring a log in and has push isn't working. I'll get the push notifications on my Touch, but nothing will come across the iPhone.
    Any ideas?
    thanks.

Me too I am having this same issue. I just thought I was the only one with this problem.

  • Two iPods - One iTunes account

My wife has an iPod touch and I have a iPod classic. She is looking to upgrade her touch and give me her old one. I want to have both the iPod touch and iPod classic on one iTunes account. Is this possible?

There are 3 methods for this. Avoid #3 if you can, it leads to confusion if someone forgets to open the correct library.
I think most folks use method #2.
I prefer method #1 because I don't want my family's play counts and ratings in my itunes setup.
It's all down to personal preference which method you choose.

  • One computer, two users, two libraries, one itunes account

How can I access/merg to the other users library?

or can you have more then one itunes account on the same computer

  • Two Macs, two iPods, one iTunes account

    Hello,
We've had multiple iPods syncing with one computer (call it 'Mac1'), where we store all our music, etc, for some time, no problem. Now, we have another (wirelessly connected) Mac in the house (call it 'Mac2'), in a more convenient location than the first one.
My wife has a new Nano she wants to put music on, and it would be easier if she could do it off this new computer ('Mac2'). This raises a few questions.
First, if she logs in to our (one) iTunes account an buys music, it'll be downloaded to 'Mac2': how to get it to 'Mac1' so we can back it up, etc?
Second, if she uses 'Mac2' to access the shared music from 'Mac1', can she create playlists on 'Mac2' using music from 'Mac2' and sync her Nano with that?
    Thanks!

If both Macs are authorized, you can now (in iTunes 7) move purcahsed songs from the iPod onto Authorized computer.
File -> Transfer purchases from iPod
When you access a shares library, you can not add any songs from the shares library onto a playlist of the library accessing that library remotely. You would want to physically move those files/songs from Mac1 to Mac2 if you want to use them in playlists on Mac2.

  • Removing one of two iPhones from iTunes account

I have two iphones connected to the same itunes account, I need to decouple one of them from the account - how do I do this?  Will I lose all content from the phone?

  • One App   Two iPhones   Different iTunes Accounts

I currently have an iPhone 5 and I will be upgrading to an iPhone 6. I'm going give the iPhone 5 to my brother. I purchased a TomTom Navigation App and I want the App to be available on both phones but managed through different iTunes accounts. How should I go about doing this, if possible?
If it isn't possible to do this because the App is linked to my iTunes account, can I, instead, manage my iTunes account on multiple computers? Or is it that one computer can handle multiple devices?
I read the following two forums but they are not exactly the same questions as mine.
    One APP to Multiple iPods?
Can you use apps from one computer/iTunes accounts on multiple iPhones?

Suppose I authorize another computer to use my current iPhone 5 and sync apps to that computer. Then I get my iPhone 6 and sync my apps to this new phone. Then I change the apple ID on one of the two computers. Would leave the installed apps on both devices? I don't have the new iPhone yet as I'm waiting to get an unlocked GSM version directly from Apple so I can't try this right away.
