Help updating/removing itunes due to message, Error1327.InvalidDrive:F:/

Right, my dad thought he was being helpful after I had some problems with my laptop by removing itunes and then reinstalling it. However, he used the disk I received when first getting my ipod and since then I havent been able to update to the newest version or remove itunes.
The process will get so far then report the message,
*Error 1327. InvalidDrive:F:/* Now I have no idea what to do, not only have I lot all my library info but I can't seem to get Itunes to do anything.
If anyone has any ideas as to what I can do I would be very grateful.

Do you have a camera or memory stick to connect to one of the usb ports on the computer? That may provide the F drive the computer is looking for. You should then be able to install itunes to the drive you want to.

Generally this is a sign that the iPhone had previously been
hacked/modified/jailbroken and the update relocked it to the
original wireless carrier. If this is the case, only that wireless
carrier can unlock your iPhone. You must contact them to see
if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
Where did you acquire this iPhone?
What wireless carrier did you use before this problem?
Does the app Cydia appear on your iPhone?
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>
    About=>Carrier?

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME REMOVE ITUNES SO I CAN RE INSTALL IT!

How Can I Remove and Unistall Itunes From My Computer I Went To "Add or Remove Programs" and Clicked Itunes "Change/Remove" and nothing happen! its still there same thing for quicktime and im trying to unistalled them because i dont have any were in my computer to click itunes to open! so its like i dont even have it but i cant download it till i remove that one on the add or remove program section but i cant because nothing happens CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME REMOVE ITUNES! FROM THAT LIST!

Well, you can do what I did. You can click onto "Start" and then "My Computer". From there, click onto Hard Disc Drive "C". A window will open that shows the folders that are present. Click onto "Program Files" and then another window will open. You should see both I-Tunes and Quicktime there. Right click onto each one and then click "Delete". That should work. When it's done, restart your computer.
If it doesn't work, hit the "control/alt/delete" keys at the same time and select "Processes". If they show up there, delete them from that list first and then repeat the above procedure.
Good luck. By the way, check out my post on "People with Problems, Read here". You'll find that there's many of us here that cannot make our I-Pod's work correctly because the software for them is HORRIBLE!

  • Can't update/remove itunes; problems on windows installer

    I've been trying to update my 10.6 iTunes because my IO6 devices only require 10.7 but windows installer has been giving me problems. I've got error messages such as;
"Error occured furing installation. Your system has not been modified"
"Windows installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if service installer is not correctly installed. Contact support personel."
"Windows installer could not be accessed. This can oocur if you are running windows in a safe mode or windows installer is not correctly installed."
I 've been searching solution online but still hasn't solve this.
I hope someone can help me with this.

Is this on a 64-bit system, steffi? If so, try the following user tip:

  • I'm trying to update my iTunes and it says that an old copy of bonjour can't be uninstalled. Then the download just stops. Any help is appreciated.

I am trying to update my iTunes and a message comes up that an old copy of bonjour cannot be uninstalled. The download just stops. I tried to uninstall bonjour but it says I need to find an alternate route to bonjour. I'm not particularly computer technically savvy, so I'm not sure how to rectify this. Any ideas?

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the thingy on the page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • My thanks for the help in restoring iTunes. I was unable to remove both Apple mobile and Apple support, however, removal of iTunes and Bonjur was sufficient to allow a new download of the latest version. Thanks!

My thanks for the help. Removing iTunes and Bonjur and then reinstalling did the trick!

    Hello jaybearden,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are not able to restore the iOS device since you get an error 9. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

  • When i try and updat my itunes it says 'the path isnnt found' and that I 'dont have access to the location'??

When i try to update my itunes an error message tells me 'the path cannot be found' and 'you dont have access to this location' any help?

OK so you need to do a cleanup with the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility.
First download the latest iTunes installer and save it on your PC
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
    If you want Quicktime get it from here;
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
The Microsoft Installer Cleanup utility has been withdrawn by Microsoft because of compatibility issues with Microsoft Office so you will need to find a copy elsewhere – the installer is msicuu2.exe. You need version 3.
    Google  msicuu2.exe download
mydigitallife in the above search has a copy of version 3
Check for malware before installing it.
Now uninstall iTunes and all related components using the method here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
    or for XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
One or more of the uninstalls will fail, don't worry.
Carry on and delete the files given in the method.
    Restart your PC
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
If you get  permission denied error, Try Run as Administrator – an option if you right click on the program.
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
If you don’t see an entry for one of the programs that did *not* uninstall, look out for entries that start All Users that are blank entries or have numeric entries that look like version numbers
restart your PC and try installing iTunes

  • Can't upgrade OR remove iTunes!

I've downloaded iTunes 7.0.2, the same way I've downloaded all the updates since, and when I went to run the installer the following message popped up.
    http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i17/ice_boxx/errormessage.png
I read through it, and added the "alternate path", after having found iTunes.msi, and that didn't work either. Another box popped up saying the following.
    http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i17/ice_boxx/errormessage2.png
So I went to the Support page and looked at the installation trouble shooting guide, and proceeded to remove everything iTunes and Quicktime from my computer... But when I went to remove iTunes, the first message popped up again! So I can't even remove iTunes from my computer.
    HELP!!

The installer tells me "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is not available. I run diagnostic and it tells me that I am a administrator and Apple has access through the firewall. Then it tells me that it can't find itunes.msi, I point the installer to it. Then it tells me the the itunes, msi I have is not a valid installation package.
With that one, let's try the following procedure.
First, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. If it goes, good. If it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to iTunes.
Next, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility:
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Now launch Windows Installer CleanUp ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"), find any iTunes and/or QuickTime entries in the list of programs in CleanUp, select those entries, and click “remove”.
Next, we'll manually remove any leftover iTunes or QuickTime program files:
    (1) Open Local Disk (C:) in Computer or whichever disk programs are installed on.
    (2) Open the Program Files folder.
    (3) Right-click the iTunes folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
    (4) Right-click the QuickTime folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. (Note: This folder may have already been deleted if QuickTime was successfully removed using Add/Remove Programs earlier.)
    (5) Delete the QuickTime and QuicktimeVR files located in the C:\Windows\system32\ folder. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue. (Note: These files may have already been deleted if QuickTime was successfully removed using Add/Remove Programs earlier.)
    (6) Right-click on the Recycle Bin and on the shortcut menu, click Empty Recycle Bin.
    (7) Restart your computer.
Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly now?

  • How do i update my itunes?

I need help updating my itunes account. Every time I try, it redirects me to the apple website and wants me to download Itunes.... I'm confused.
    help??

Your title says iTunes, but the body of your message says iTunes Account, so I'm confused too.
To update your iTunes Account, use iTunes to sign in to the iTunes Store and select Your Account.
To update iTunes, in iTunes, select Help/Check for Updates.
What are you clicking on that takes you to "the Apple website", is this in a browser?

  • Help/Updates doesn´t work

Every single time I click on "Help/Updates" I get this error message: "The update server is not responding. The server might be offline temporarily, or the Internet or Firewall settings might be incorrect".  My Internet settings are fine, and this is a recurring problem (I am on Photoshop CS6 now).  My Firewall is Norton 360, which has never, ever, created any connectivity problems.  Any thoughts of what may be going on?

I found the fix to this problem.  It is on an Adobe KB article:
