Help Viewing Content Purchased On Apple TV on other Devices

Hello, I have purchased a TV series on my Apple TV3 and I want to watch it on one of my other devices, either an Ipad3 or new Macbook pro
All three devices are logged on to the same Apple ID. I have homesharing on the computer turned on and Apple TV can see the computer
The TV series is there in Apple TV and it's indicated as being in the cloud, but it doesn't show up under purchased in Itunes on the computer, nor on the Ipad.
Is there something else I need to be doing to get the Ipad/computer to find the series in the cloud. Am I right to assume that any content I purchase from the Itunes story should be visible/playable on all the devices or is some content more equal than other.

Changing the method of media transfer from sync to stream will not affect the tv in the way that you want it to. You you might want to change the type of library to a shared library though.

How to view shows purchased using Apple TV on a Mac computer

I have purchased several shows while viewing my family TV and through Apple TV. I can replay those purchases on my family TV no problem (through Apple TV), however I cannot seem to find where those purchases reside so that I may view them on my computer workstation, or other Apple devices. I have iCloud but there is no listing of purchased content there, nor are those purchases listed in iTunes. I thought if content is purchased through Apple TV that it should be available to other devices.

Your daughter is too young to have an Apple ID because the minimum age is 13 years old. You can use her email address for FaceTime and Messages. You add the address as the contact address when you activate both of those apps. But both apps will still have to be tied to your Apple ID.
I was managing 5 different devices with one iTunes library and all devices had their own unique content on them. It is not that difficult to manage.

Can't see Help Viewer content

When I try to learn how to use iWeb, I pull down the Help menu, choose iWeb Help. I get a window with various link, but when I click on one, i get a message that says "Help Viewer Cannot Open this content."
So what's the problem?

Yes, I can access Help in Garage Band and also Pages and prsumably other Apple apps. But not iWeb. Also, when I try to search for a topic, I cannot get the cursor to appear in the search window.

I have a "not authorized to view content" on my Apple TV.

I have an Apple TV (1st Gen). All software is up-to-date. Last spring there was an issue where the Apple TV would not talk to iTunes. After a week or so, Apple fixed the issue. I was able to access and view all my movies on my iMac and I synced my Apple TV. When I went on Apple TV I was able to watch all my movies except one, Les Miserable. When I purchased the HD version a few months prior, I was able to watch the movie several times with no issues. When I try to watch "Les Miserable" on Apple TV now, I get a message that says: "not authorized to view content." I'm not sure if it's a hardware issue or an iTunes issue.

Content purchased on Apple TV also downloads on iTunes. How do I stop this?

My iTunes is set to "streaming" not "sync" with my Apple TV. The problem is that even though I am set to "stream", most of what I purchase direct from my Apple TV also wants to download to my iTunes which means that I now have 2 copies of the same content which I do not want because it takes up hard drive space on my Mac. I only want the Apple TV content on my Apple TV only. Is there a way to change a setting somewhere instead of having to call Apple to remove the content from my download Que?

Content Purchased from Apple TV Not Transferable?

Hi. First, I'm a newbie to these discussions.
Second, I recently purchased some content through the iTunes store on my Apple TV. The content shows up in my purchase history but is not available for download to my laptop. This seems strange to me as content purchased on my iPhone is transferable and is able to sync.
QUESTION: Is this a known bug and/or how can I resolve?

Is this a streaming library only - I'm not sure if purchases only sync back to a synced library - when I right click on my AppleTV it says 'turn off syncing' not 'turn off streaming' in the options.
Beware os setting up a new streaming library at this stage as it might wipe your AppleTV clean of purchases - this would clearly be a stupid software feature.
AppleTV really needs a foolproof drag and drop to get purchases on your computer to backup.

Is it possible to view books purchased in iBooks on an Android device

Hi, I've bought my first book within iBooks, is it possible to view it using an Android device e-reader (I use Aldiko, but could use any other)? I get a technical failure when I try and import which I suspect is caused by DRM kicking in, having previously imported ePub titles without any problems.
Also, are there any good alternatives to the iBooks store - e.g. which allow purchases which can be copied between devices in this way?

Only the iPad can read the .ibooks format produced by iBA. If you want to use the pdf option, then anything can read it.

Content purchased on Apple TV no longer syncing back to iTunes Main library

My Apple TV always linked perfectly before. However, after downloading the last iTunes update, purchases that I make on AppleTV do not load back to my main computer like they should. Is anyone else having this issue and how do I fix it?

that doesn't mean there is an issue necessarily. not every person has the problem for the same reasons.
Do you know if Apple is doing anything to fix this or do I need to manually hard boot all my equipment every time there is an issue?
there is no input from apple here, so you will know as much as anyone else if apple is doing anything about it. we are all just users here.

IPad 3 dropping airplay apple tv connection, other devices are fine

I have an iPad 3, an Apple TV, MB Air and MB Pro. The ipad to apple tv over airplay drops pretty frequently. The mb air to apple tv over airplay is rock solid, never drops, same with the mb pro.
I've read through the recommended wifi settings http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199 as well as the troubleshooting airplay article http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4215.
I have a cisco e3000 dual band router with the latest firmware, 2.4 and 5ghz have sep SSIDs. As mentioned before, I went through the recommended wifi kb.
Any guidance?

Mac Mini will not send iMessages to anyone but apple users all other devices will

I have a new mac mini and it will not send iMessages to people that do not have apple devices. All my other apple devices will send to people on these devices. The mac mini says that the users are not registered with iMessages. My Macbook Pro has no problem. Any suggestions?

Is your MacBook Pro sending the SMS messages through your iPhone?
That is the protocol others are probably using.

Will an optical digital audio cable improve the sound when I am viewing content thru Apple TV

I have a 2nd generation Apple TV. When I view content via my Apple TV the sound gets "fuzzy" as I increase the volume on my TV. If i connect Apple TV to my Samsung HDTV with an optical digital audio cable, with the sound quality improve??

people say that if the atv2 dont have a connection to the tv optical is muted
I have a atv1 and been using the optical out with my sony stereo system for ages mute the tv so only 1 audio source and on atv1 it play out the optical even with the tv off
of cause one have to choose the optical input as input source on the receiver

Help Viewer Madness

I've got a little unusual Help Viewer problem. When I try to access it using my MacBook Pro, it searches for a connection to my desktop G5. If the network is up, it immediately shows the Help Viewer startup. If the network is down, it searches and searches and eventually the Help Viewer startup shows, I guess with data from my laptop. I've tried trashing all the help viewer pref files and the caches, but I can't figure out what is pointing the Help Viewer to my other computer. Doesn't it know it can do this itself? Any thoughts from anyone?

I tried everything suggested in the Troubleshooting Help Viewer article, including a reinstall, and nothing works. What happens is I get the spinning pizza and a window called AFP Connection Status comes up, with a message "Looking up 192.168.168.1". If I press the command and period keys, I will then get a message saying, "Connection failed. The server may not exist or it is not operational at this time. Check server names or IP address and try again." Often the help viewer contents will then appear.
This happens when accessing the Help menu in the Finder, in most Apple applications, plus a few others. However, in Firefox, and certain other applications, Help works.
This strange "Help Viewer" problem does not happen on the G4 Powerbook or the Intel iMac that are on our network, just on my G5 tower.

Cant view my purchased on my iphone 3GS app store ever since the io update 6 and 6.1 didnt fix the issue

I have noticed that my iphone 3GS app store crashes when trying to view "purchased" apps. I never had that problem since i updated to IO6. Now I have updated ot IO6.1 and still have the problem. Its only in my main itunes account [email protected] that it crashes when trying to view the "purchased" apps. With my other itunes accounts I can see my purchased apps. I dont understand why this is happening, this is extremely frustrating! I have been using my main account ever since i bought my iphone 3GS over three years now. I used to see every app ive purchased with my main account. but with mmy other itunes account i really havent download much apps so it doesnt show all my apps since the day I purchased my 3GS.Please help. I know there are many other out there that have the same problem, why isnt this problem fixed yet?????
