HELP with .doc documents

IT WON'T WORK. and that is very bad. I have to work everyday with taht and since I installed SL I can't do nothing. I am very frostrated. I tried everything but nothing worked, I have iWork '08. I NEED HELP very quickly!!!!Please

OS X supports multiple user accounts per computer. You can add another user account by going to:
Apple Menu > System Preferences... > System, Accounts.
Click the Lock icon and enter your system password if the icon is shown as locked.
Click the Plus symbol and fill out the form that appears to create a new user account. Give it a username and password that you are certain to remember, and write them down as well.
Click Create Account and wait a few seconds. Back on the Accounts page, click the option for Fast User Switching. Your main account name will now appear next to the Spotlight icon in the upper right portion of your screen. To switch to the new account, click your account name and select the new account name. You will be prompted to login. Repeat the process when you need to switch back.
Your new account won't have a Pages icon on the Dock, so you'll have to start Pages from the Finder or using Spotlight. After starting Pages, it will appear on the Dock. You can Right-Click to keep the icon to the Dock permanently in this new account.
The new user account will have a clean set of preference files for every application. This makes it a good place to try programs that may have corrupted preferences in other accounts.
When you are done with using your new account, log out of it from the Apple Menu. From your Admin Account, your original one, you can delete the test account if you wish, or you can leave it there for future use.

Help with ME21N Document Overview Layout

There are two sets of people who use ME21N to create Purchase Orders. I've created 2 layouts for them to be used with the document overview on. I know I can set one layout as a system default. Is there anyway I can have the layout assigned or defaulted per User?

Try using the transaction code OMET.
Create new Function auth (say PO) there in which select FieldSel. in General Parameters tab. As mentioned that you had created two layouts, select this layout from dropdown using F4 on field FieldSel. then save the transaction.
Now assign this newly created Function auth (PO) to the specific users using SU01/SU3 in parameter tab in parameter as EFB with value as PO (as defined).

Help with Two Document folders w/ same contents

Could use some help.......
I migrated from an older Mac to a new Mac about a month ago. At the same time I moved from Leopard to Snow Leopard. I used the Migration Assistant except for applications which I reinstalled from scratch (except preferences, etc. which were migrated).
In doing so I ended up, unbeknownst to me, with my documents both in the root level Documents folder ( /Documents) and in "my" user Documents folder (/Users/my/Documents). At least I assume that this happened during migration.
Today I found this out and, very unfortunately for me, that some of my Spotlight launches and subsequent file edits have not been to my Document files but to the duplicate ones at the root level.
I need to correct this, then delete those unwanted/unneeded duplicates and then block Spotlight from accessing that folder just in case something gets put there in the future.
With that as background my questions:
1. What are default post-install root (computer HD) level folders? Want to make sure no other errors. The folders I have are:
Applications
Desktop Folder
dev-1 (note: locked)
Documents
Library
System
User Guides and Information (note: alias)
Users
2. Is there an Apple utility or other way to compare this root level Documents folder with the users/my/Documents folder to determine what might have changed in the former when it should have been a change to the later?
3. Do those who use Spotlight frequently recommend privacy setting blocks beyond external drives? That has been my setting but now I feel I need to increase the privacy blocks.

A Documents folder at the root may come from an old OS 9 system which did have a Documents folder at the root. In OS X your Documents folder is in the Home folder (Users/urshortname/Documents/.)
OS X has only the following root folders visible:
Applications
Library
System
Users
If you want to view the contents of the root level Documents folder just double-click on it to open a Finder window on the contents. There is no built-in folder comparison utility but there are third-party utilities you can find at VersionTracker or MacUpdate. Or just open a second window on the /Home/Documents/ folder and put them side by side.
I'm not sure I understand what you men by privacy blocks that you would need to create. Maybe you could clarify.

Help with resizing document

Hi guys,
I am trying to resize my current document. It is currently 1000px and I want to make it 1300px but when I do that, all the elements that is near the top becomes off the screen to the top...Why is that? I only want the document to be longer in height from the bottom but not sure what it is affecting the elements on the top?
Any help appreciated.

Check you publish settings html scale, you might already have "No Border" selected, try publish with "Show all" or "Exact fit".
You may also edit the scale from html <param name="scale" value="noborder", try change it to showall or exactfit.
The swf scale can also be controlled by actionscript Stage.scaleMode

Help with large document please.

I'm using a MacPro 2 x 2.26 Xeon/6GB RAM/Radeon graphics card. For the 6th year I'm producing an A4 product catalogue for a client with mostly full page photographs on every page. This year it will have grown to 400 pages. I'm half way through and already the file is becoming a bit unwieldy with daily crashes and slow to load. Does anybody know if increasing the RAM would help or should I try to split the catalogue into smaller chunks and then join them up into a book. That's not something I've tried before so am not sure about the drawbacks. The client does have a habit of changing the page order quite a bit which might be a bit of a problem if I have to move between the smaller documents. Or am I wrong?
Any advice most welcome.

Thanks for your comments Peter. I think I'm at a stage where I can easily split a duplicate file into 10 or maybe 11 documents but I will need to reference 5 or 6 words on each page for the index. Hopefully that won't tax the system too much!

Help with Secured Documents!

I have been using the same files for over a year with no issues. Up until today I was able to edit them with no problems. All of a sudden when I go to use a document I receive an error message stating that
"The security settings on this document prevent adding text and/or placing a signature on it from Adobe Reader. To fill and sign this document you need to print it out"
We have not made any changes to the files or our reader since the last time I used it to cause this to occur. Also, when I try to open an unsecured version from the original source I get the same error message. Other people can open on their computers from the original source without receiving this notification so it HAS to be something within my computer. I just don't know how to correct it. please help asI need to be able to fill in these forms.
Oh, and I am using a PC with Windows 7.

All you need to is give the PDF reader rights. In Acrobat 11, go to File – Save as – Reader Extended PDF – Enable More tools (Form fill in/ Sign).Hope this helps?

Help with printing document via wireless

The printer is connected to PC via wireless and has worked ok for a long time.
Thr printer seems to be working ok (copying ok).
Although printer icon is ready, any document sent to print sits in a queue and does not print. I have downloaded the updated version off the internet (HP website) for the HP 3050A driver and installed ok (who knows).
Can you help?

I see that you are having issues with the print jobs just sitting in the queue and won't print. I will certainly do my best to help you.
Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
Try and print a hardware self test on the printer to find out if it is a hardware or software issue.
On the printer control panel, press the Wireless button (). The Wireless menu opens.
Press the button () next to the Down Arrow () to scroll through the options and select Print Reports, and then press the button next to OK.
Press the button () next to Wireless Test to print the page.
If you have a valid IPv4 address for the printer then try and access the Embedded Web Server for the printer.
Type the IP address into your web browser's address bar. (Internet Explorer)
If it loads the printer's network page then the printer is on the network.
Power cycle the router, computer and printer.
Try printing again.
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)

Help with BW Document Link, please.

I posted the following question in Business Exploer section with no response. Can anyone here helps?
If I created documents in rsa1 for basic cubes, these documents show up fine in BEX query property.
But this function does not work for ODS or Multiprovider. I created documents for ODS and Multiproviders and verify they exist after saving them. In BEX, open 'Query Properties' and click 'Documents', no document is availabe.
Can anyone help? Strange thing is it works for basic cubes but not ODS or multiprovider.
I went through RSA1 'Document Administration' and did not find anything unusal.
Any help is appreciated.

Does BW Documents Link depend on Knowledge Warehouse?

Help with excel document

hello all,
I have an excel base `database`on which I have been working on for about 10 years. It basically has all my music data from all this time, i.e. it is very important for me.
I keep a copy on my Palm TX in case I need to make notes on the go, and I syncronize with the dataviz documents to go application.
Today during sync, the process unexpectedly stopped, and now I cant seem to open the file. I double click, excel starts, but no open.
Anyone might have any idea what caused this? If anyone can help I am willing to send the file for revision-correction.

Need help with DOC type web service

hi,
I am trying to write a simple message style ( doc type ) web service but no success so far. I have tried to search for examples but no use. I already implemented some simple RPC style web services like calculator etc and able to use them. I am more interested in the DOC type ( which sends SOAP message and receives SOAP message back). Can Anybody give me an example for implementing this type of service ( very-simple say HellowWorld ) or point me to some website . I am not able to generate the response envelope. I can write the client program which will send a SOAP Envelope to this services with one parameter NAME and the services should return Hello Name but in a SOAP envelope form. I can create a SOAP message in this Client using SOAPConnection and MessageFactory etc. Your help will be really appreciated. There is very little stuff about webservices on the internet as well on this forum.

Thanks for the quick response and pointing to some useful websites. I downloaded the code from web service essentials BUT all the examples are using SOAP RPC calls. They create a call object and call one of the service methods and a response is returned. I am little confused about this stuff. I am looking for something which returns the response in a SOAP envelope for which i think i need to use JAXM API which I already have downloaded. I have created a client which composes a SOAP envelope using SOAPConnection and other MessageFactory classes etc and can send this SOAP envelope to a web service. In return I want the web service to give the SOAP envelope.

Help with exporting document and generating an enumerated value error

Can anyone help me figure out why I cannot get this script to export the document and save it for the web?
I keep getting the same frustrating "Enumerated Value expected".

Yes the guide is misleading. It says 'For this property, only COMPUSERVEGIF, JPEG, PNG-8, PNG-24, and BMP are supported.'
It really should say 'For this property, only COMPUSERVEGIF, JPEG, PNG, and BMP are supported.'
But if you look under SaveDocumentType you will not find PNG-8 or PNG-24 listed in the values.

Help with Resolution/Document Raster Effects

I am wanting to upload my logo to my credit card company to put on the face of my new card.
obviously this will be small in size (1.5"x3") but the cc company requires the upload be at least 400pixels x 400pixels.
I don't want to upload a 13"x6" because they shrink it down and it loses quality.
I have tried changing the Document Raster Effects to 300 ppi, but the rulers still show 72 ppi and when I save it to jpeg, it is only 72 ppi.
How can I get a 1.5" x 3" document to save with 450px by 900px dimensions?

I am not certain I understand the need to pen this in photoshop and all this other stuff but you can simply export it as a jpeg.
I am going to show screen shots because this comes up all the time and everyone gives strange instructions.
1 Make the art and artboard 3 inches wide constraining the proportions (works out to 3 x 1.37) the art is of course a little smaller.
2. Export it and choose jpeg as the format (select use artboards)
3. in the jpeg options dialog choose maximum quality and then choose for resolution high, which is 300ppi.
Now you have a jpeg that is 3 x 1.367inches at 900 x 410 pixels

Help with Sign Document button being grayed out

I am using Abobe X Pro and I am having an issue with the Sign Document button. When I am signing a document sometimes the 'sign document' button is grayed out. I am still able to use the 'place signature' button and once I click the 'place signature' button then the 'sign document' becomes active again and is no longer grayed out. This happens randomly. Most times I am able to use both the sign document and place signature buttons but randomly the 'sign document' button is grayed out. Even when opening the same exact file sometimes the 'sign document' button is grayed out and sometimes it isn't.
What could possibly cause this?

I need to send via email an attachment in pdf format. I have 4 pages filed (in pdf format already) separately. How do you collate them and send as one 4-page document? Help!!!
