Help with insurance plans

Hey everyone,
I know there were some other posts but I was a little confused.
What do you think is the best insurance for the Iphone?
I think I selected the Verizon one at check out that is $10.99 a month.  Will this be good enough?  Should I get Apple Care too?  And what exactly is the Square one/where do you get it?

Hi. It depends all on your needs. Squaretrade is a great warranty. It covers all accident or problems with the phone for 2 years. It does NOT cover lost or stolen phones. It is also only $99 or about $4 per month and is cancellable if you do not have the phone for that long and then they will credit you back some cash. You DO NOT need Applecare if you but either one. Applecare is just extending the 1 year warranty you get for free from Apple to a 2 year. In review, the $10.99 covers everything including lost and stolen, or broken phones for as long as you are paying the $10.99. If you arent concerned about lost/stolen, then it is way cheaper to get the squaretrade warranty.     When I purchased my iphone I didn't select any insurance option, right now I am trying to decide between Apple Care protection and the insurance that Verizon offers could someone please tell me the difference and what you all think is the best choice?

    So basically, the answer is that you need to purchase BOTH......
    The phone comes with a 1 year service through any apple store, do not pay extra just for phone support.. Just go to apple.com and set up an appointment at any apple store near you and go in its completely free for the first year.
    Also you have until that year is up to purchase the extended 1 year Applecare Protection Plan.
    In my opinion unless you are completely clumsy and know you will drop and break your phone, the TEC is unnecessary I've had every iPhone since the first one and I absolutely hate putting cases on anything I own and i've never broken one, just protect the $200 investment you made, no need to spend money on insurance than your $200 deductible iPhone are EXTREMELY easy to fix and I repair many in my community as a side job.
    With a little help from eBay and www.ifixit.com anybody can repair an iphone.

  • Help with DR plan for Exchange & SQL Server vDP 6 please.

    Hi there,
    I just need a little guidance building a backup & DR strategy using vDP and/or VR. SRM is probably not in the budget right now.
    First question about "Application" backup recovery.... Do I need BOTH a "Guest Image" & "Application" backup of these servers to be able to recover in case of disaster? I'm guessing YES, since when I try to "Restore" an Application backup, I only see the Exchange or SQL databases for example. I do not see the actual VM C:\ drive, etc. Would I use a "Guest Image" restore, THEN an "Application" restore for a full recovery? What happens if your SQL database is on the C:\ drive, you will be backing them up double in this scenario, once in Guest Image, then again in Application backups?
    Next question.... I've tested VR to a remote location (no SRM yet), and it worked well. I consider this a good DR plan for what we need. We currently use TSM for backups. If I change to local vDP backup + replicated vDP backups at the remote site, would this be a good replacement instead of VR? Our RTO is not a huge issue. Can I recover the replicated backups easily to the remote hosts? I realize the advantages of SRM, and I would need to do more manual steps, but our budget is tight.

    As with many things, these answers depend a lot on your environment, that said, from my experience as a customer, partner (and now with VMware) here are my answers:
    - Depending on the application both guest and application can be a good idea. If you have applications with agents, I think it often makes sense to use them.
    - You are correct that if you need to recover the entire VM, you would recover the VM image  and then the application backup (if it was needed - there is a likelihood that the application backup may not be needed)
    - You are correct, you are very likely backing up the application data twice. Seems worthwhile to me for the right applications, you'll have to evaluate for your environment
    - VR or backups can work as a DR solution, especially if RTO isn't an issue. The main difference I see between them is RPO. VR can go as low as 15 mins, backups are usually 24 hours so again, it depends on your requirements. One additional benefit to SRM is the ability to non-disruptively test your DR plan which I think is one of the best parts of it. Totally understand about budget. I would recommend building and testing your DR plan and communicating the resulting RPO/RTO to the business so they are aware.

    Forgive the newbie question please!!
    I plan to purchase a Panasonic HDC-TM700.
    I want to be able to shoot an event in HD with the camcorder.
    I' d like to import the 1080 60i video into FCEHD, edit it, and then create both SD DVD's and HD Blu-ray discs with my edited movie.
    I want to use just iDVD for the SD DVD's.
    And I'm hopeful that I can make Blu-ray disc's with Toast.
    I do not currently own either the TM700 or a drive capable of burning blu-ray. 
    I have tried to find answers searching other posts, but it still isnt totally clear to me if I can do what I want (at least simply).
    Can new versions of FCEHD handle the TM700's 1080 60p files?  I do not believe it can?
    Will I be able to read the 1080 60i files directly in without any conversions?
    After editing my HD movie together, is it possible to use it to create a SD DVD?  I'm not clear on this?
    Having never tried to create any HD products, am I crazy to think I can take my edited HD movie and make blu-ray discs using Toast?
    I fear that I would need to re-edit the move for both the SD and HD versions??

    Above I said I have a Panasonic GS400 SD camera.
    I'm considering a Panasonic TM-900 (found a better deal on the 900 than the 700).
    If I were to put these 2 cameras side by side and record the same footage, (SD for the 400, 1080i60 HD for the 900), then edit in FCE and output to a SD DVD from iDVD, would you expect the quality to look any different? (I believe you said you would expect the same...I'm just not sure my question was that clear)
    The nature of my question is around how the software handles the footage, compression, etc.  I'm not asking will the newer camera create better looking video on the merits of the camera alone.
    In my head, I can argue it both ways.
    If I still wanted to try mixing footage from both cameras, I see that I would need to convert the HD to 720x480 SD.  Any advice on how to do that?  Do I need special software? Would clipwrap do that?

  • CF8 Enterprise migration to another hosting provider. Help with migration plan (license) needed

    We are running a CF8 Enterpsise on an older root Server (virtuozzo VM) and we need to switch to another provider (vmWare VM).
    We will probably need more then one month for the migration and I need to come up with a migration plan that doesn't involve rendering the service unavailable.
    I've tried to contact Adobe hotline, but the people there knew nothing about licensing, the other number I got from them kicks me after 20 minutes on hold... so I was hoping to be able to find answers here.
    I understand CF Enterprise is licensed for 2 CPUs, for unlimited number of virtual machines, so the other server wouldn't qualify to run on the same license key because it's different 2 CPUs. If I could migrate everything within a month then I could use the 30 day demo license, but I will need more then 30 days.
    So what are my options? Even if I wanted to buy CF8 Standard to cover the second server while migrating (am not really willing to pay $$$ just to cover few weeks of migration), I'm not sure I'd be able to find a place to buy it. CF9 or CF10 is not an option because we'd need to rewrite the code. What happenes if we do use same license key for few days on both servers - does it stop working? Any hope of me contacting Adobe and getting some kind of "extension" of the 30 day demo license so we can complete the migration?
    Any ideas what I can to?

    When you install WS2012R2 on KMS02, you can add the VA role (or you can add it after initial Windows installation), this gives you KMShost and also VAMT.

    Preliminary Plan
    I work at the headquarters of a small company of 8 offices and 26 employees. I am the central database system. Right now, information is only accessible through me, by me, from me, and to me via fax, phone, mail, or email. I have several spreadsheets with different information resulting from personal information, cell phone information, laptop information, government vehicle information, contract information, and training information.
    I want to develop a database that will automatically keep track of this information as entered by the user. Whenever there is a change or update, the system will be able to automatically accept this information into the system. Information will come from each workstation in the office that only the managers and I can see. The managers will however only have access to their individual employee information, but I will have access to ALL the employee information. All information created, provided, and maintained between me and the managers will be conducted through RDBMS. Triggers will be used so that information can be updated or inserted through SQL. LAN-to-LAN connections are already in place so that information on the network can be accessible. Preliminary plan is as follows:
    WEEK 2: January 15-21, 2007
    Develop preliminary plan for two sentence concept of BPS
    WEEK 3: January 22-28, 2007
    Finalization of preliminary plan
    Creating the database i.e., connecting, granting privileges, adding systems

    My major is information system. I want to be able to
    access information from all 8 stations where the user
    inputs the information, but only have access to their
    employees and I will have access to all 26 employees.
    I being the central database system.Still quite vague, if you ask me. If it's just an entry formular with user authentification, your time schedule may work. Installing XE and developing with APEX could just be the right tool for this job, but without any further information (data structures, authentification concept, user interface) it will remain pure speculation from my side. Why not ask your teacher if he/she thinks your plan is reasonable?

    I'm reading the FPM document here and made it to page 14.

    - The FPM Configuration Editor displays the Component Configuration
    - Configuring the FPM_OIF_COMPONENT
    I'm not seeing anything like a navigation area, preview area, or action area. All I see is explicit configuration and implicit configuration.
    How do I associate the UIBB with my views as it describes here on page 14? Is this something I can only do with SAP NW 7.1 Enhancement Package 1?

        belonging to the first subview to display its attributes in the preview.

  • Help with showing planned courses in catalog

    We would like have all courses appear in the course catalog however are running into issues with planned instructor led courses that have no scheduled date. Has anyone been able to find a solution for showing courses when you may not have a date for that calls planned yet. We would like to be able to have employee sign up for a planned class and then monitor enrollments and when we have good interest actually schedule the class.

    Thanks for responding. I mistyped and meant class.... Anyway, we found a workaround to not enter a start date and it worked however we still will need to monitor enrollments and create a planned class and move enrollments once we feel we have enough interest. This will be manual for us but I guess we were hoping maybe others had a different solution even if it required a customization.

  • Curve 8530 - Replacement insurance plan issues, need help

    I have had a Blackberry Curve contract for 2 years. When I signed on in Jan/09, I took the replacement insurance plan and have been paying $10/month for the “no phone regrets” replacement plan. The phone was replaced with an 8530 under insurance in July/10 because of tracker ball problems.
    In November/10 The LCD of the new phone was slightly squeezed by the gear shift lever of our car. The LCD cover was not broken and there was no apparent symptoms for a few days; but eventually a strip of colour appeared on the LCD.
    The phone was still fully functional and I resigned myself to living with the blemish for another year until the contract expired.
    About 2 months later (Jan/11) the phone began shutting off during conversations. The battery takes a full charge and will do standby a full day without much draw down. I have tested the battery by keeping the LCD light on for a full ½ hour with only 10% battery consumed. But when I get a phone call, the unit shuts off, then automatically restarts and shows “battery to low for radio use”.
    I have taken it to the supplier expecting coverage from the ongoing insurance program. However, they do not want to replace the phone because there is “physical damage” - namely the pixel blemish on the LCD.
    The phone has never been abused or wet. The supplier claims that the pixel blemish represents physical damage even though the cover is not broken.
    Is their position reasonable? Is the phone shutting down because of the pixels blemish; or is there another cause?
    Any comments will be much appreciated. Thank you.

    Given what you describe, my guess is that anything is possible here...but truly diagnosing across an internet-distance is not possible. Only with hands-on could someone perhaps come to a conclusion on the situation.
    Regardless, it would be moot -- your insurance provider is 100% in control of determining if this is covered or not. You can dispute this ruling, of course -- but you do that with them. I suggest escalating with them via whatever appeals process they have. From your description, I think you have a good case -- not rock solid, but more along the lines of "it could go either way"...you need to find someone there who will come down your way rather than the ruling so far received. You can appeal to their sense of helping a longstanding good paying customer as well...if that does any good.

  • Urgent Help with Planning Book

    Hello Gurus,
    Need your help with a very urgent issue. I cannot see my key figure values in my planning book(Interactive Planning). I could sucessfully generate my CVC, then initialised my planning area. Then when I go the interactive planning I can see all my characteristics -Ex Material master( has all values), Prod type has values, etc. Iam in DEV system and have to move the whole config to QA now. I have to validate that the config works in QA. Its works ok in the sandbox but I cannot figureout why I can not see the values for key figs that Iam loading from a Flat File. Please help!!!!!!

    I have one more question for you. Let me tell you my scenario. I have the client giving me a rough forecast for the future. I have to do stat forecast based on the history and check that against the initial forecast given by them. But, the problem I realised now is that when I go to my planning books I can see the values for 2008 in mothly buckets since I have 0calmonth. But the client gave me another file with forecast for 2008 in monthly buckets and for 2009 and 2010 in quarter buckets. So, i have a planning buck profile defined to meet that but, how do I upload the file with both 0calmonth and 0calquarter in a single file. Please let me know!! Urgent task.

  • Help with Planning Query

    I have a planning query with Material in the Rows, 0CALMONTH and Amount in the Columns.
    For a query selection the user puts in only version and month Date range say 04/2009 - 03/2010.  What I would like to happen is initially present the user with 3 empty rows where they input the Material and the different amounts going across for the selected 12 months.  Initially there is no planning data and all my efforts fail I think because I do not have any available values for material to plan against.  Is this possible?
    I have another similar query, but I have fixed values on the left.

    I am trying to get a planning query with 3 empty rows to start.  The User inputs the Month Range.  In each row I would like and empty field for Material input and empty key figure fields for each of the months in the range.  I have a similar query already, but instead of starting with no Materials I have fixed materials and it works fine.  It's just a problem when I'm starting out with no materials.   Any ideas?   Thanks for your help.

  • Help with interpreting explain plan (dbms_xplan) output

    I'm trying to get to grips with reading and interpreting the explain plan or dbms_xplan output, and so I hope someone can help with the output below.
    So, with the explain shown below, does it mean that...
    a) it starts with step 8 and sends all rows to the nested loop in step 5
    b) it only sends (or thinks it sends) 1 row to step 5 from step 8
    c) For each row supplied from step 5, there will be an index lookup at step 8 to access the table at step 6
    d) Step 8 only gets (or think it gets) 1 row
    If it does mean that only 1 row is expected by the optimizer, and yet the full table scan should return 150,000 records, and the table has up to date statistiucs, what else would cause the cardinality to be so far off?
    If it doesn't mean it will return 1 row then what does it mean ?

    No, the SIM card included with the T-Mobile phone on the Apple site does not allow you to activate for the $30 prepaid, as there is no "activation code" provided with the phone and you need a code for prepaid activation on the T-Mobile site. As you know T-Mobile store will not help you with this plan.
    I just did this. (1)  I went on Apple store site and purchased an iPhone 5c selecting the T-Mobile "unlocked and contract-free SIM-Free" option.
    (2) You also need to go on T-Mobile and buy the (so called) "activation kit"  http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/sim-card ; select the "Nano Sim Card"  "Phone" then "Add to cart". This is currently free, so I got 2, in case. It took about 3 business days to receive the package via UPS.
    The package has instructions, but does not mention the $30 option (it is not widely advertised in T-Mobile as you know). However, no problem, it will become available during activation.
    (3) Now replace the SIM card that you received from Apple with the SIM card you received from T-Mobile.
    (4) Before you start the activation process, write down clearly (and double check)  the "activation code" found in the T-mobile activation kit, the "SIM card serial number" found in the kit as well and the "Phone serial number (IMEI)" found on the iPhone box you received from Apple.
    (5) Go to T-Mobile "Activate your new phone"  https://www.t-mobile.com/shop/plans/ActivateCodes.aspx  and enter those 3 numbers, very carefully. (I have heard any mistake may stop the process and you need a new SIM card to restart).
    In the next screen, you will pick the plan (all prepaid plans are showing, including the $30 100 min / unlimited text / web, but beware as there is another $30 for 1500 min, no web) and then a phone number (or transfer your phone number) - when you click "next" you actually receive a text message on the phone right away! In the next screen you enter your payment information (debit, credit or purchased prepaid card), then you are done.
    (6) I actually went back to my-t-mobile.com to create a login - pw so I can change my payment method later and see the data and minutes used.
    No need to adjust any APN settings. Got LTE in my area and internet speed clocks at an amazing 32.77 Mbps Download. ENJOY!

  • Thinking about Moves with my Plan and Future, Help Appreciated

    OK so this was the deal with my plan currently, is that right now im looking to save money on my phone bill every month and im being given the big run around with my Talk/Text/Data Promotion where i keep being told my data discount of 9.99 would come off and so far this month too it did not come off. The woman in Promotions department apparently fixed my account which not sure if she did and the problem with the whole thing is that different reps keep telling me i can only get my employee discount on my voice or the data discount which of course is wrong because the promo woman over the phone told me i can receive both and the loyalty reps over the phone keep giving me different stories and im tired of it. This was the reason i extended my contract for a bit to get this discount and its getting very frustrated about it!!
    The other thing was i was thinking about switching carriers when my contract is up because my bill has been pretty high the past couple of months and it makes no sense to early terminate my 2nd line because my ex gf upgraded to a smartphone and jacked up the fee. My mom hardly uses the 2nd line and i would like to cancel it but because its too high it makes no point to do that since both our contracts are up in a year. I was thinking about going to a basic phone to cut my data plan prices because the only cheapest verizon has is the 30 dollar plan. I don't use my data plan too much but i heard if i go to a basic phone and within 14 days i go back to a smartphone i can get my unlimited data back. So idk if this is true or not. But its gotten to the point that these smartphone plans and contracts are a bit much now. So if there is a Verizon rep that can chime in and see what can be done or discuss with me about options, that would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise i just had to vent about the issue with my current bill at this moment. So just was saying.

    To answer SuzyQ, my ex gf is off my account because of problems with her being on it (being late all the time, messing up my credit) and she wasn't choosing to fix her problems by doing and AOL because of her credit which Verizon wanted 400 and she didn't want to do it. Long story short, she lied to me about her AOL deposit amount just to stay on my account for a few more years (hence the early upgrade). So thats why shes no longer with my account.
    To answer AZS, your right my mom HAS a basic phone now and does not have data. My problem is that i have data on my plan which im trying to cut back on the cost of the plan and so far, i really wish Verizon would let me have that Talk/Text/Data promotion where it was 9.99 for the unlimited data and it would really help my bill alot. Of course i had a hard time getting it and one of the reps who i dealt with about getting it was very rude with me and she didn't care about satisfying the problem or the plan with me.
    But both lines have less than a year left so when the time comes, its time to move to something cheaper and better for me no contract wise. Unless anyone has something else to throw in their opinion of.
