Help With Tags

I have a TagLib which is working perfectly with JSPs,The Tag is
<c:chart id="chart1" datasource="#{name.Graph}" type="xyline" is3d="false" background="green" height="50" width="150" legend="false" border="true"> </c:chart>. What i am trying to do is set the values of the Taglib Class from within a Servlet Execute it and return back the HTML codes which would otherwise have been returned by the Taglib sitting on a JSP. I have already set the Values
ChartTag ch_t =new ChartTag();
ch_t.setDatasource(tempMap.get("Graph").toString());
ch_t.setId("");
ch_t.setBackground(this.GraphBackground);
ch_t.setLegend(GraphLegend);
ch_t.setBorder(GraphBorder);
ch_t.setIs3d(GraphIs3D);
ch_t.setType(GraphType);

You will have to call the doStartTag() / doEndTag() code yourself.
If you really want to do this in code, I would suggest is that you get a jsp with this tag on it, and look at the java servlet generated from it.
A far easier approach would be to use the RequestDispatcher to "include" a jsp with that tag on it.

    when i go into acrobat 9 pro and x pro and move the order of my tags i end up losing some of the sentences in my document. Has anyone experienced this problem before, and is there a way around this issue, am i doing something wrong? Now, this doesn't always happen, it's only in one section here that i am having issues with this. Please help, it's driving me crazy!!

    "Z-order"
    When manipulation occurs from the Order panel or Content panel PDF some page content objects can end up behind others.
    PDF page content - text included - is a "painted" graphic object. Yes, I know, a head scratcher but it is all explained in delightful detail by ISO 32000.
    To avoid this work from the Tags panel. Ensure that the PDF page content's logical hierarchy is properly developed in the structure tree.
    AT uses the structure tree to determine what is what which includes order/sequence of semantic content on a PDF page.

  • Please help with tag files

    Hello,
    Is it possible to use to invoke tag files from other tag files in the project? Is it allowed by spec?
    1. Create empty project.
    2. Create tag file tagFile1.tag using wizard.
    3. Create tag file tagFile2.tag using wizard.
    4. Drag TagFile2 tag from toolbar to tagFile1.tag in editor pane.
    tagFile1.tag is:
    <%@ taglib tagdir="/WEB-INF/tags/" prefix="tags"%>
    <%@ tag pageEncoding="UTF-8"%>
    <tags:tagFile2/>
    tagFile2.tag is:
    <%@ tag pageEncoding="UTF-8"%>
    5. Try to rebuild the project - compilation fails
    Error(3): Unable to instantiate tag: tags:tagFile2 (class: oracle.jsp._tag._tagFile2_tag) Make sure that the tag class is available and that the tag library containing the class is not excluded from this application.
    Error(3): Unable to find class for bean: null defined by tag with class: oracle.jsp._tag._tagFile2_tag
    Is it a bug of JDeveloper or OC4J or am I duing something against the spec? Could someone please comment this behaviour.

  • Help with Find / Replace button title tag contents (text)

    Hi there,
    I designed my site with Sitegrinder (Medialab) –
    Currently all the title tags generated for buttons are the same as
    the actual html page name.
    The problem with this is that the tooltip which appears in
    browsers when you hover over the button with the mouse gives you
    the page name. Instead I want to use these tooltips to give the
    user an indication of what the function of the button is.
    An example: A zoom button above an image: Currenty the
    tootlip says “zoom imagename pagename” – Instead
    it should say “click here to zoom”.
    I need help to get the Dreamweaver Find and Replace tool to
    batch replace these tags for me for about a 100 pages.
    Here is an example of the code:
    <body>
    <div id="id1zoomimpastooilweddingbutton"><a
    href="zoomimpastooilwedding.html"
    title="zoomimpastooilwedding"></a></div>
    I only want to replace the text in the title tag - Since the
    text “zoom” appears several times in the body, I
    can’t get the Find tool to pick up and Replace the occurrence
    of “zoom” in the title only…….
    Options I’ve tried:
    Search Current document: Search for: “specific
    tag”: “title”, “containing”:
    “text” = zoom (I’ve tried this with
    “zoomimpastooilwedding” and zoom[^”]* with no
    results
    I’ve also tried: Search for: “specific
    tag”: “body”, “containing”:
    “specific tag” “title”
    “containing”: “text” = zoom
    etc……………..
    I need help with what parameters to enter in order to find
    and replace all the text within the title tag with my own text
    Thanks very much!
    Anton

    You have ~ 100 pages, each of which has images with title
    attributes (not
    tags), all of which BEGIN with the letters "zoom"?
    What do you want to replace that text with? Wouldn't it be
    different for
    each button? Or do you mean that you would do multiple
    sitewide searches,
    one for each button? This illustrates how wrong it is to not
    use DW
    Templates or server-side includes to simplify the management
    of your
    navigation elements....
    Did you ask Medialabs if it would be possible to specify this
    before
    generating the HTML?
    How did you like working with SiteGrinder? It looks like a
    nice product to
    me, although I'm not fond of the final results code-wise....

  • I need help with the conditional build tag option RoboHelp 10

    I need help with the conditional build tag option. I want to apply CBT to content in a topic. I looked at the Help topics and believed that I applied the feature correctly. Howver, it is not working as desired. In the 2nd sentence below I want the text highlighted in blue to only appear for the printed output and the text printed in purple to only appear for the .htm /online output. Please help.
    There are common tasks used to manage the folders in the Navigator and the folders
    in the BBS Folders Viewer Grid. For more information on these common tasks see Help
    and Support in Success Enterprise. click the links below.

    Hi there
    Using tagging is a two part process.
    Part One
    You create and apply the tags to the information you wish to control.
    Part Two
    You create a Build Expression that is used when you generate your output. The Build Expression typically reads something like: NOT Tag1 (or whatever your tag name is)
    Then when you generate and use the Build Expression, the information tagged is not included in the build.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Please help with margins and tags

    Hope someone can help with a sudden problem I’m having with tags and margins. Out of the blue it seems Dreamweaver wants to create a margin between two <div’s,> but only if a tag is applied to the text, such as <p><h1><h2> etc.  Here’s an example; Say at the top of the page you have a <div> named “header,” below it there’s a <div> named “content.” So far no problem, but as soon as I put text in the “content” <div> and give the text a tag, the “content <div> drops roughly 25 – 30px below the “header” <div> leaving a margin.  To make it even stranger; If I were to insert an image into the “content” <div> first, then the text, it behaves as normal.  I’m just baffled; if anyone has an answer it would be greatly appreciated.

    That did it, thank you so much!
    It's still just a bit of a mystery why it suddenly started doing this, guess I’ll just have to strip that code in manually from now on, unless you have the answer on how to have it default to a margin and padding of 0.
    Anyway, thank you for your help.

  • Help with clicks tag

    I was ask to create an ad banner, I need help with how to track the web click on it, is it what the clicktag is for. What should I do, insert that code but where ?

    Create Clicktag AS 2.0
    1. Create animation
    2. Add new layer to very top of timeline. (must be at top) Label "clicktag" or Inv button. (It doesn't really matter what you label it)
    3. On first frame of this layer draw rectangle to cover full stage (may go beyond stage dimensions)
    4. Rectangle must have a fill color. You may delete frame around the box. (Make sure alpha slider has some fill percentage before you draw rectangle to enable fill)
    5. Convert this box to a button symbol.  Name clicktag (or button)
    6. Double click on this button or get to edit mode. Select color fill with solid arrow. Click on Properties panel/Fill color and adjust alpha to 0%.
    7. Go back to Scene. Click on first frame of clicktag layer. Select the now invisible button by surrounding with solid arrow tool.
    8. Select properties panel and click on arrow in circle to get Actions panel.
    9. Make sure Actions panel says ACTIONS-BUTTON at top of panel.
    10. Add coding from below:
    on (release) {
    getURL (_level0.clickTag, "_blank");
    11. Send swf/html files along with your target URL to publication

  • Help with css3 rollover tag please

    Hey guys I'm stumped and need help with positioning some big picture buttons.
    Here is the link o the home page http://ceramic-planet2.businesscatalyst.com/
    As u can see I have four picture buttons using css3 roller but I want all four buttons next to each other
    2 buttons next to each other with the next 2 directly below .
    Now orgininally I used the dreamweaver rollover button and everything was inline so flowed across the page no problem. These are divs and I've tried to make 2 panels side by side among other hings but I'm not getting there so I thought one of u clever guys would have no problems telling me what to do.
    Please help I'm not getting the inline or absolute placement right
    Dave

    Hey Dave,
    You need to remove the margin from #mosaicbutton, #kitchenbutton
    and then add float : left; to #bathroombutton, #floorbutton, #mosaicbutton, #kitchenbutton,
    That'll get you buttons sitting the way you want them, you may need to play with the margins after that.

  • Help with RTF and special characters

    Hi,
    I'm curently working on apex 4.1 and i want to generate an .rtf file which i fill with the information coming from a form.
    I am doing so without any problems when it comes to normal Americam letters.
    I face a problem when i wan't to dynamicly change my subsctitution phrases in the .rtf template with czech characters (á,é...), because i can't just replace the word with these characters in the rtf because it expects to receive some escape formats and not the letter itself.
    Can anybody help me figure this one out?
    I've tried creating a library of the symbols and their asci code and replacing them in the file but they don't always work. I even saved a .doc file in .rtf and copied the code from that one in my .rtf and it doesn\t work. In the original file i have some characters in my file i have other characters eventhough the code is the same...
    I'm puzzled by this one and i don't know what to do.
    Thank you,
    Alex.

    Hi,
    Yes i wan't to remove information from the clob.
    I have an .xml template and if i don't have any updates on some chapters i wan't to remove them.
    Until now i have tried to replace the strings that i don't need using the replace function, but sometimes the string that i wan't to replace is longer than 32726 chars.
    I have comented the xml clob with tags like "<!-- [[$$1.0]] start -->" and "<!-- [[$$1.0]] end -->" and using the instring and substring functions i get the piece of information i wan't to remove.
    "select substr(r.template_content,instr(r.template_content,'<!-- [[$$1.0]] start -->') , instr(r.template_content,'<!-- [[$$1.0]] end -->')-instr(r.template_content,'<!-- [[$$1.0]] start -->'))
    from rtf_templates r
    where r.template_id=3"
    and then i use " clob := replace(clob,get_substr)"
    usualy it works but sometimes the length of the subtr is larger than 32767 chars and that's when i have problems.
    Any ideeas on how to remove the chunks of info from the clob?
    Thank you.
    Alex.
    I have changed the get_substr select because i wrote it wrong :) now it's ok

  • Help with encapsulation and a specific case of design

    Hello all. I have been playing with Java (my first real language and first OOP language) for a couple months now. Right now I am trying to write my first real application, but I want to design it right and I am smashing my head against the wall with my data structure, specifically with encapsulation.
    I go into detail about my app below, but it gets long so for those who don't want to read that far, let me just put these two questions up front:
    1) How do principles of encapsulation change when members are complex objects rather than primitives? If the member objects themselves have only primitive members and show good encapsulation, does it make sense to pass a reference to them? Or does good encapsulation demand that I deep-clone all the way to the bottom of my data structure and pass only cloned objects through my top level accessors? Does the analysis change when the structure gets three or four levels deep? Don't DOM structures built of walkable nodes violate basic principles of encapsulation?
    2) "Encapsulation" is sometimes used to mean no public members, othertimes to mean no public members AND no setter methods. The reasons for the first are obvious, but why go to the extreme of the latter? More importantly HOW do you go to the extreme of the latter? Would an "updatePrices" method that updates encapsulated member prices based on calculations, taking a single argument of say the time of year be considered a "setter" method that violates the stricter vision of encapsulation?
    Even help with just those two questions would be great. For the masochistic, on to my app... The present code is at
    http://www.immortalcoil.org/drake/Code.zip
    The most basic form of the application is statistics driven flash card software for Japanese Kanji (Chinese characters). For those who do not know, these are ideographic characters that represent concepts rather than sounds. There are a few thousand. In abstract terms, my data structure needs to represent the following.
    -  There are a bunch of kanji.
       Each kanji is defined by:
       -  a single character (the kanji itself); and
       -  multiple readings which fall into two categories of "on" and "kun".
          Each reading is defined by:
          -  A string of hiragana or katakana (Japanese phoenetic characters); and
          -  Statistics that I keep to represent knowledge of that reading/kanji pair.Ideally the structure should be extensible. Later I might want to add statistics associated with the character itself rather than individual readings, for example. Right now I am thinking of building a data structure like so:
    -  A Vector that holds:
       -  custom KanjiEntry objects that each hold
          -  a kanji in a primitive char value; and
          -  two (on, kun) arrays or Vectors of custom Reading objects that hold
             -  the reading in a String; and
             -  statistics of some sort, probably in primitive valuesFirst of all, is this approach sensible in the rough outlines?
    Now, I need to be able to do the obvious things... save to and load from file, generate tables and views, and edit values. The quesiton of editting values raises the questions I identified above as (1) and (2). Say I want to pull up a reading, quiz the user on it, and update its statistics based on whether the user got it right or wrong. I could do all this through the KanjiEntry object with a setter method that takes a zillion arguments like:
    theKanjiEntry.setStatistic(
    "on",   // which set of readings
    2,      // which element in that array or Vector
    "score", // which statistic
    98);      // the valueOr I could pass a clone of the Reading object out, work with that, then tell the KanjiEntry to replace the original with my modified clone.
    My instincts balk at the first approach, and a little at the second. Doesn't it make more sense to work with a reference to the Reading object? Or is that bad encapsulation?
    A second point. When running flash cards, I do not care about the subtlties of the structure, like whether a reading is an on or a kun (although this is important when browsing a table representing the entire structure). All I really care about is kanij/reading pairings. And I should be able to quickly poll the Reading objects to see which ones need quizzing the most, based on their statistics. I was thinking of making a nice neat Hashtable with the keys being the kanji characters in Strings (not the KanjiEntry objects) and the values being the Reading objects. The result would be two indeces to the Reading objects... the basic structure and my ad hoc hashtable for runninq quizzes. Then I would just make sure that they stay in sync in terms of the higher level structure (like if a whole new KanjiEntry got added). Is this bad form, or even downright dangerous?
    Apart from good form, the other consideration bouncing around in my head is that if I get all crazy with deep cloning and filling the bottom level guys with instance methods then this puppy is going to get bloated or lag when there are several thousand kanji in memory at once.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Usually by better design. Move methods that use the
    getters inside the class that actually has the data....
    As a basic rule of thumb:
    The one who has the data is the one using it. If
    another class needs that data, wonder what for and
    consider moving that operation away from that class.
    Or move from pull to push: instead of A getting
    something from B, have B give it to A as a method
    call argument.Thanks for the response. I think I see what you are saying.. in my case it is something like this.
    Solution 1 (disfavored):
    public class kanjiDrill{ // a chunk of Swing GUI or something
         public void runDrill(Vector kanjiEntries){
              KanjiEntry currentKanjiEntry = kanjiEntries.elementAt(0); // except really I will pick one randomly
              char theKanji = currentKanjiEntry.getKanji();
              String theReading = currentKanjiEntry.getReading();
              // build and show a flashcard based on theKanji and theReading
              // use a setter to change currentKanji's data based on whether the user answers correctly;
    }Solution 2 (favored):
    public class kanjiDrill{ // a chunk of Swing GUI or something
         public void runDrill(Vector kanjiEntries){
              KanjiEntry currentKanjiEntry = kanjiEntries.elementAt(0); // except really I will pick one randomly
              currentKanji.buildAndShowFlashcard(); // method includes updating stats
    }I can definitely see the advantages to this, but two potential reasons to think hard about it occur to me right away. First, if this process is carried out to a sufficient extreme the objects that hold my data end up sucking in all the functionality of my program and my objects stop resembling natural concepts.
    In your shopping example, say you want to generate price tags for the items. The price tags can be generated with ONLY the raw price, because we do not want the VAT on them. They are simple GIF graphics that have the price printed on a an irregular polygon. Should all that graphics generating code really go into the item objects, or should we just get the price out of the object with a simple getter method and then make the tags?
    My second concern is that the more instance methods I put into my bottom level data objects the bigger they get, and I intend to have thousands of these things in memory. Is there a balance to strike at some point?
    It's not really a setter. Outsiders are not setting
    the items price - it's rather updating its own price
    given an argument. This is exactly how it should be,
    see my above point. A breach of encapsulation would
    be: another object gets the item price, re-calculates
    it using a date it knows, and sets the price again.
    You can see yourself that pushing the date into the
    item's method is much beter than breaching
    encapsulation and getting and setting the price.So the point is not "don't allow access to the members" (which after all you are still doing, albeit less directly) so much as "make sure that any functionality implicated in working with the members is handled within the object," right? Take your shopping example. Say we live in a country where there is no VAT and the app will never be used internationally. Then we would resort to a simple setter/getter scheme, right? Or is the answer that if the object really is pure data are almost so, then it should be turned into a standard java.util collection instead of a custom class?
    Thanks for the help.

  • Is there a Java utility class to help with data management in a desktop UI?

    Is there a Java utility class to help with data management in a desktop UI?
    I am writing a UI to configure a network device that will be connected to the serial port of the computer while it is being configured. There is no web server or database for my application. The UI has a large number of fields (50+) spread across 16 tabs. I will write the UI in Java FX. It should run inside the browser when launched, and issue commands to the network device through the serial port. A UI has several input fields spread across tabs and one single Submit button. If a field is edited, and the submit button clicked, it issues a command and sends the new datum to the device, retrieves current value and any errors. so if input field has bad data, it is indicated for example, the field has a red border.
    Is there a standard design pattern or Java utility class to accomplish the frequently encountered, 'generic' parts of this scenario? lazy loading, submitting only what fields changed, displaying what fields have errors etc. (I dont want to reinvent the wheel if it is already there). Otherwise I can write such a class and share it back here if it is useful.
    someone recommended JGoodies Bindings for Swing - will this work well and in FX?

    Many thanks for the reply.
    In the servlet create an Arraylist and in th efor
    loop put the insances of the csqabean in this
    ArrayList. Exit the for loop and then add the
    ArrayList as an attribute to the session.I am making the use of Vector and did the same thing as u mentioned.I am using scriplets...
    >
    In the jsp retrieve the array list from the session
    and in a for loop step through the ArrayList
    retrieving each CourseSectionQABean and displaying.
    You can do this in a scriptlet but should also check
    out the jstl tags.I am able to remove this problem.Thanks again for the suggestion.

  • Need help with shared hyperlinks

    I need help understanding the shared hyperlink option when creating hyperlinks in InDesign CS5 (Mac) and how to change a shared hyperlink destination.
    I want to build a document that contains hyperlinks to files on the client’s server. The end use is to make a PDF in which the client can click on a hyperlink and it opens (for example) a Word document or another PDF on their server. When I started the project, I thought I would create shared hyperlinks because a single server document would be referred to by several links scattered through the InDesign document I was building.
    From the Hyperlink palette fly-out menu I chose New Hyperlink, then Link To: File from the dropdown, and I clicked the Shared Hyperlink option, and then OK to close the window. I export the InDesign file as a print PDF, and the hyperlinks work.
    Now I need to change the file paths, because the client moved their files to a new location. When I re-open the hyperlink in the Hyperlink palette by double clicking on it, the Edit Hyperlink window opens but it shows my link as:
    Link To: Shared Destination (rather than File)
    And the destination box underneath shows:
    Document: [my document name]
    Name [the file path I put in]
    However, this link is not editable. I don’t understand why InDesign does this on its own.
    I realize now that it was not necessary to tick the shared option when I built the hyperlink. Is there a way (a script? another method?) that I can remove the shared nature of the hyperlinks so that when I go to edit them they show as links to files (Link to: File, not Link to: Shared Destination) with a live Destination Path box where I can edit the link?
    (If anyone tries to help with a script, note that my document also contains other hyperlinks to internet URLs and emails that I don’t want to disturb.)
    Thanks for your consideration.

    Well. I do feel sort of bait-and-switched, but...
    I want to get the links back to the point where double clicking on the hyperlink name (number) in the Hyperlink palette opens an Edit Hyperlink dialog where the destination is Link to: File and the file path shows up in the File Path box as an editable string. Just the way I made them in the first place.
    It's good that you're comfortable editing the IDML.
    If you compare links made both ways in the IDML, the only distinction between the Shared and the not Shared seems to be the hidden attribute of the <HyperlinkURLDestination/> tag.
    Allegedly you cannot edit this in Javascript (though you could, I suppose, create a new HyperlinkURLDestination with all the same properties and then chang eeach hyperlink to point to it).
    But editing it in the IDML works fine. Open designmap.xml and change the Hidden="false" to Hidden="true". Of course, you only want to do that in the <HyerplinkURLDestination/> tags...
    Something about this seems fishy to me, so you might want to verify it yourself in a single case before you put too much effort in. But I think it's right.

    Look at all the apdiv's you have.  Those are absolutely positioned layers.  I'm assuming by your post that you are very new to Dreamweaver and HTML and CSS.  I would highly recommend not using absolutely positioned layers until you have a better grasp on HTML and CSS.
    Looking at your code I would suggest that you consider using one of Dreamweaver's built in, or downloadable templates as a starting point and work from there.
