Help with video formats, please!
I posted this topic once before, but got no replies. I don't mean to spam up the forums, but I would really like a response. I'm having a problem with putting videos on my iPod Nano. Currently, my videos are in MP4 format, but they're not loading onto the ipod. I can load MOV files, but the matter of converting my MP4 files to MOV files still remains a challenge. I've downloaded converters from the internet, but they're only trials and thus cut the video runtimes in half. If anyone could tell me why my MP4s aren't loading, or where I can find a free converter that won't cut the runtime of my videos, I would be ever so grateful. Thanks in advance!
No, multiplexed wouldn't be the issue. The iPod will still play them but multiplexed files that have been converted to the iPod often lose sound because of multiplexing, but will still play.

I shot video on my IPhone5. While filming, battery notification showed me that it is 20% but I continued filming. When I finished I normally stopped the video. Now, I can see video on my IPhone without any problem but when I try to copy it to my computer (Windows XP) the copied file contains 0 KB. Also, the strange thing is that the size shown in that Video Properties is 1.81 GB for 8 minutes comparing to other my videos about 700 MB. Is there any possibility to cope with this problem please?

Usually, I attach IPhone to my comp by original wire, open IPhone folder to see the files, copy what I need and paste it to one of the folders in my comp. Very simple and always worked with pictures, videos. But not this time. I believe that 's all happenned because IPhone battary was about to die (it showed on the screen notification it s 20% during filming) so probably this notification interrupted data of video that's why all other movies I made the same day about 7 minutes each are normally about 700mb, but this one interrupted - 1.8GB for the same 7-8 minutes. It s still uploading to my comp and hopefully will work cos that video is important. Fingers cross. -

I have a problem with the Java AudioFormat class, can you help me please?
The thing is Im working on a voice chat using the following audio format settings:
AudioFormat(AudioFormat.Encoding.PCM_SIGNED, sampleRate, sampleSize, 1, 1, frameRate, false);
Where:
audioReadBytes = 1024;
sampleRate = 8000.0F;
frameRate = 8000.0F;
sampleSize = 8;
My problem is that these settings can cause incrementing voice delay and sometimes even block the application. It works fine on a LAN but on the internet it never works.
I wanted to ask you if there�s a better audioformat setting that can decrease the size and quality of the sound, so it works on low bandwidths.
I�m new to audio formats so I don�t understand them much and when I tried to change the settings by decreasing the sample rate I didn�t get what I expected.

Dan.Based on the concept of Unity in a gain chain, if you set the levels properly at the output of the analog mixer, then they should be fine coming into the software after the A/D conversion. As long as you don't clip the digital input, you can adjust levels internally on an audio timeline, so it is always better to err on the side of too little rather than too much.
Digital maximum is -20 dB which is equivalent to 0 dB VU in the analog world. This provides sufficient headroom to avoid clipping in most circumstance.
Try a few different levels and see what works best for your needs.

Help with video settings please! videos will not play but audio of the vid
Hey..i have the 30GB ipod video. i have alot of music videos on there which are under the category movies on my ipod. i turned my ipod on about three weeks ago and none of the movies would play. they all appear as thumbnails. the thumbnails dont move but the audio of the movie does play. the thing that has happend is that somehow all my songs have come into the video playlist and i dont know how this has occured. i cannot plug my ipod to my computer as my computer no longer works. and if i plug it into my laptop then the songs and movies and photos will be earsed. i really want my videos to work again i just dont know how the settings have changed themselves.. is there any chance anybody knows how to get the videos to work again? if you require more information please let me know..the video settings are as follows: tv out - off, tv signal - PAL, widescreen - off. Also if i want to back up everything on my ipod how do i go abouts doing this so that i do not lose the data on it? thank you..chandni

Hi. I have a 6 year old macbook pro, a 2012 macbook air, a brand new apple tv, and AT&T DSL internet.
I want to stream video from my hard drive on either laptop to my apple tv hooked up to my brand new panasonic plasma tv.
I first tried using airplay mirroring with my 2012 macbook, but the sceen had over a 1 minute lag. Then I tried home-sharing through itunes on my 6-year-old macbook pro. It just constantly buffers with that white spinning circle on my plasma.
I'm thinking the problem might be that I need faster internet..... what do you think?If these videos are stored on your hard drive then the Internet doesn't factor into the equation. This is streaming over your local network and that is where the issue lies.
Typically this will be because of interference. You can check istumbler.net to verify. Mirroring requires more resources than basic airplay so interference and also things like other network activity can cause lag.

Help with Preview formatting please
Since upgrading to OS X (10.7.3), all Word documents, when opened in Preview, appear as a single sheet without top and bottom margins. They also print like this, just running on and on without a break. This doesn't happen with PDFs and didn't happen prior to the upgrade. Does anyone have any ideas how to correct this, pls?

Help with access control please
So I'm trying to set up my brother's PSP to the wirless network through MAC address timed access. What I want to do is make it so that he can only access it through certain times in the day. I'm having troubles with actually getting it to work. Everytime I set it up, the PSP only show's up as a DHCP client and not a Wireless client. I tried the option panel with the add wireless clients through the first try access. Could I get some help with this issue please? Thanks!

Help With Video Pop Up Window.
Hi there Im very new to web design so please understand that I am a complete novice, so my understanding is limited. Any help would be most appreciated.
Could anyone provide me with a piece of code I can put into the HTML snippet function that will allow me from a hyperlink that says "video" to open up this Vimeo video (see below) in a new window that is the exact dimensions of the given video.- Almost like a pop up.

A week ago I was on Option 1 but due to heavy use my speed was reduced to 15.7k/sec !.I was advised to upgrade to Option 3 which I promptly did and that was done on the 29th(last week).
My speed though is still 15k/sec and I cannot watch any streaming video or BBC News Channels etc

Back in May I was having problems with video on my Mac. I was helped by this site and am hoping for more help. I downloaded the realaudio, but was still having problems. I assumed because I was on dial up. It was so slow. It would take forever to load and then play for a few minutes then need to load some more. I now have DSL and was looking forward to kissing the video problems good-bye! My new problem is that when I try to watch or listen to anything like innertube it "stutters." In Quicktime Preferences, under advanced, UNcheck Enable Flash, and under Mime settings/Miscellananeous only check Quicktime HTML (QHTM).

In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them).
Now go to Safari Preferences/Security, and tick the boxes under Web Content (all 4 of them).
Lastly open Audio Midi Setup (which you will find in the Utilities Folder of your Applications Folder) and click on Audio Devices. Make sure that both Audio Input and Audio Output, under Format, are set to 44100 Hz.
Important: Now repair permissions and restart.

You should also consider having the free VLC Player from http://www.videolan.org/ in your armory, as this plays almost anything that DVD Player might not. -
Help with video in Flex - Alternative to embedding .flv?
I'm building a Flex application that needs to play a video, which I have in .flv format. I tried the mx:VideoDisplay component, and it was great, but, unfortunately, I need to be able to package the entire application into a single file, and Flex doesn't support embedding .flv files. Next I tried converting the .flv to a .swf, embedding that, then using mx:SWFLoader to display it. This worked, except that I can no longer control the video playback; the video just keeps endlessly looping. I need to be able to stop the video, and ideally I would like access to something like the complete event from mx:VideoDisplay, so that I can hide the video when it has reached the end.
I have tried a couple of solutions based around the idea that the content of the .swf can be treated as a MovieClip, but none of these worked for me. Any ideas?Hi, Keith Lee -

ElisabethOpen the email and then from the File menu select Save As Rich Text Format. That'll save it to open in TextEdit. If you want a pdf then open the email and do command-p (Print) and then from the PDF drop down box lower left corner select Save as PDF.

Help with built-in (please) set_group_number_cell
I am working on a form. The original problem is when I hit a certain button within the form,
it is supposed to keep the fields the same, but mark the record as new and
assigin it a new id/row number. Kind of like copying the fields to a new record.
Initially, when the button was pressed , it would put a zero in the front of the
year (with the format mask being MM/DD/YYYY) it would change a date such as
01/16/2000 to 01/16/0200.
I do not know if it ever worked in the first place, or is not working because we just
moved the forms from 4.5 to 6i - for a customer..
I went through and tried to put the to_number functions and the to_date functions
where they belonged(I think) but now the set_group_number cell function fails.

1) Rather than doing everything twice - once for the first item then in a loop for all the rest, everything is now done in the loop
2) The format mask used by the date manipulation is the actual one used by NAME_IN() - to make this work I'd recommend that you use
SET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY(BUILTIN_DATE_FORMAT,'DD-MON-YYYY'); in your startup code e.g. When-New-Form-Instance
3) The item ID is used rather than the name to speed up access and calls to get_item_property() are only made once we know they are needed - e.g. there is not need to get the datatype and value if you already know that this is a button item.
