HELP! - X3 Terran Conflict problems (I am using an I5 27")
I couldn't find a gaming section so here we go:
I have installed the game, it has detected the latest patches, but the performance is mystifyingly horrendous.
The game detect the graphics card etc and set to the recommended settings,resolution is as the best setting, graphics and shading is on high, AA and something else if mid.
I get game crashing, frame rate problems as so bad it's unplayable, juddering, freezing, screen tear. I reduce the setting right down on this resolution, the game crashes less but the rest is still poor.
I have also reduced the resolution and the setting down and it's still a bag of spanners.
X3 Terran Conflict requires
intel cpu 2.16 or higher ----------------------- I have the 2.8 I5
1GB RAM ----------------------------------- I have 4GB RAM
geforce 8600, radeon x16000 or newer 256MB------- I have ATI Radeon HD 5750 VRAM (Total): 1024 MB
Surely this should run great?
Has anyone else got this, game what are you running it on and how is it performing?

Help trouble shooting PRINTER PROBLEM within Numbers using Leopard
Help!! On both my spreadsheet created and other templates I've attempted printing, the print preview looks perfect (with the spreadsheet centered on the page)... but when they print, instead of printing centered like the preview, the print runs off the top and starts printing with no top margin and partially through my spreadsheet.
I reinstalled my HP Photosmart C4280 printer, and downloaded the updated beta driver found on HP's website. This did solve the problem. Is anyone else having printing problems? What else could I try?!
Thanks!I called Apple tech support and got an answer! In Numbers, we must use the Document Inspector to "format for" the printer we're using. I have 2 printers installed, and it was defaulting to my label printer. When I switched to my HP printer, I had to make some small tweaks to my page format, and then it printed perfect.

Possible conflict/problem if using edk 5.2.0 with plumtree portal 5-0-3 and collaboration v4.0.1?

We are using plumtree portal v5-0-3 and collaboration v-4.0.1. I have to create a portlet where users can use it to submit a request for a collaboration project to be created. Searching through Plumtree Developer Center, there are documents that show me how to create a collaboration project using edk library. The edk that comes with plumtree portal v5-0-3 doesn't contain the api(s) that I need (for example, com.plumtree.remote.prc.collaboration.project.*). However, the edk 5.2.0 does contain these api(s).
Are there any possible conflicts/problems if I use the edk 5.2.0 with our existing plumtree portal v5-0-3 and collaboration v4.0.1? If there are, is there any other way that I could get to these api(s) somehow to create collaboration projects?

Is there any api or way that I could use to create a collaboration project without using the Project Explorer? In our scenario, after a user uses the portlet that I describe earlier in the original disscussion message to request the creation of a project, an admin will take a look at the request and click a button to have the project created. This button will somehow trigger some scripts or codes instead of the admin using the Project Explorer to create the project.

HELP!!! Problems in using PostgreSQL in jdk1.4.2

Can anybody help me with my problem. i am using jdk1.4.2 and have a database connection with PostgreSQL Driver. I have connection to the Driver using the following code.

I have been using Firefox for about two years. For about a month now I have been unable to view any Google advertisements that run on YouTube pages alongside and under videos. This is important for my business. I would like to stay with Firefox, but this is only a problem when I use Firefox and is not a problem with Internet Explorer or Google Chrome as I checked. I tried uninstalling Firefox and all plugs ins and add ons and then reinstalling it. This did not work. Firefox seems to be blocking the Google codes that enable the ads to run on the pages. I look forward to your help. Thank you.
CS2 is very old and reached its "end of life" a while back. So probably won't run on modern operating systems. If you can still run it, you'll need to uninstall what you have and re-install with the download link below to activate it.

Hi can anybody help please. I am having terrible problems trying to use my Nikon D7100 to tether. I have downloaded the latest Lightroom updates and also checked my firmware which is also the latest avaiable and still Lightroom wont detect my camera!. When I use a friends Canon camera it works every time!

My Imac is ejecting every disk inserted in it, I cannot access the disks, can any body help me troubleshoot the problem. I am using snow leopard.

If those don't help you can try a cleaning disc or a quick shot of compressed air. Chances are that your drive has failed, join the club it's not all that uncommon. You can either have it replaced or purchase an inexpensive external drive. Don't buy the cute little Apple USB Superdrive, it won't work on macs with internal drives working or not. -

Hi, I'm using a white iPhone 4s with 16gb memory and having some problems. Whenever I use earphones the sound will be heated when the volume is at the highest if I turn it down any lower all I hear is static. Can anyone help me with this problem as I would appreciate it much.
Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset. -

Font Availability/Possible Font Conflict Problem
I have InDesign CS3 on a Windows XP SP3 machine with the following problem: I have a document I am reprinting for one of my clients and it uses Helvetica Neue Condensed Bold font. It seems that this font comes into conflict, probably due to its name, with Helvetica Neue Bold. If I delete the latter from the Windows\Fonts folder, then in all other Windows programs, the Condensed Bold font shows up. However, *it does not* show up in InDesign CS3. Furthermore, the latter thinks it still has access to the Bold font even after it has been removed from the Windows\Fonts folder. I assume this may be due to InDesign CS3 accessing fonts from elsewhere, but there is nothing in the "Fonts" folder for the main InDesign program folder. I would be very happy is someone can tell me what exactly is causing this font conflict problem, and how I can work around it. But mainly, I need to know where InDesign informs the user about where it looks for fonts (I can't find anything like the specification in Distiller that restricts where it looks for Windows fonts). Any help would be *most* appreciated, as I need to get this out in the next two days and must leave town early Wednesday.
Fonts for Indesign can be stored in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS3\Fonts and they will only be accessible by Indesign. I've had problems with different versions of Helvetica too, but only when they were from slightly different families, or a mixture of types. Now I've got the whole set it works fine, you may have to experiment with your mix of fonts. Bear in mind too that fonts display differently in the Indesign font list than they do in Word for example.

CH Pro Throttle and MS Force Feedback 2 in X3: Terran Conflict.
Hi all, I posted over in the X3: Reunion Linux thread on the official X Universe boards, but this is probably relevant to some of you here:
I have managed to get the my CH Products Pro Throttle and Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 to work together perfectly in X3: Terran conflict. It was a pain in the backside to do, but here's how:
First I grabbed the source code to joy-map, the linux userspace joystick mapping program. This allows you to remap axes and buttons on existing devices and assign them to a new virtual device. By default, joy-map sets all the evdev abs_max values to 32767 and all the evdev abs_min values to -32767 for all axes. When I was running it out of the box, this caused the virtual stick to barely register movement, as the raw output from the USB devices was in the region of -256 to 256 for the throttle and -512 to 512 for the sidewinder.... and then the stick twist was -32 to 32, and the hats were -1 to 1. As X3 doesn't let you recalibrate in game, and any joydev calibration with jscal is ignored, this was not much use.
So I used evtest to find out what the maximum and minimum reported raw values were for each and every axis I was remapping. I then edited devices.c, one of the joy-map source files. Line 127 is the start of the loop which sets up the abs_max and abs_min values for all of the axes, so I commented out the loop and hard-coded the values for each axis in. After that was done, I compiled the mapper, and wrote a map file which combined all of the axes and buttons I needed.
Finally, I copied the compiled loadmap executable and my joystick map config to my X3:TC directory and modified the last line of testandlaunch to read
./loadmap CH-sidewinder.map & ./$1
killall loadmap
It's not as straighforward as the CH Products Control Manager software in Windows, and if I change my stick setup (as I plan on doing next payday when I intend to get a CH Fighter Stick and CH Pro Pedals) then I'll have to edit the joy-map source and recompile, but it works, and I can play X3:TC in Linux with mt HOTAS setup.
If anyone is interested in the hacked joy-map source or the config map file, I can provide them. There's probably a way to get joy-map to set abs_max and abs_min values based on the values supplied by the devices themselves, but that's something I'll work on when I have more time.
This may be of use to people whose joysticks do not work without calibration, as well as anyone looking to combine multiple stick setups to play X3:TC
Last edited by 2Karl (2014-09-28 02:17:16)Having used Corsair almost exclusively with X58's for the past three years, those you have linked look to be an excellent choice. 3X4GB is a great way to go for 12GB, much better than 6X2GB route.
As for initial startup, please use just one stick RAM in the primary black dimm slot. I always load Windows & all the drivers that way too. Then, add the other sticks & additional HDD's, etc.
Added: If & when you decide to OC, open a new thread in the OC & Mod Section of the forum. These are really easy to OC.
2nd add: Wouldn't mess with the BIOS revisions unless a specific problem is encountered. -

The problem is; when I past copied text from some pdf books (not all of them) it past symbols only! wherever I past it! and even if I coped that text from another pdf reader (adobe pdf reader, internet browsers, ...etc.).
This problem started to happen since yesterday when I installed adobe acrobat reader XI pro to try it before I buy it, and before that when I was using the free adobe pdf reader I was totally able to copy any text from any pdf and past it anywhere with nothing wrong.
What can I do?

Can anyone help me with a problem i am having with my music on my iPhone 4S. I have put alot of Compilation CDs in my library on iTunes. I download these tracks onto my phone, everything is ok so far. Now, this is what is niggling me and I don.t know how to resolve it. This is my problem:
Have downloaded for example: Queen – Bohemium Rhapsody from a compilation album as well as a few complete Queen Album CDs into the iTunes library and then put them into playlists,
When I go onto my phone and select Queen on the MUSIC app using Songs tab at the bottom of the screen it will display all Queen songs and their resective Alum pics, that is all those not in a complilation album, .
If I know the song title I can select the songs tab and find the song that way,
I’ve tried fiddling with the settings in the iTunes app by going to ‘get info’ tab and trying to sort the problem out that way but am not having much luck.What I want the phone to do is show, for example all Queens songs including those in compilation albums. Can this be done, would be grateful for any ideas on how it can be done, that is if ic can be done, any ideas

Bringing photos in at a higher dpi
I use Photoshop Elements 2.0 with a 6.2mp camera and the photos come into PSE at 180dpi and 11x17. I'm thinking about a new 8.5mp camera and shot some test shots. They came into PSE at 72dpi at 24x35. If I convert the photo to 300dpi it becomes a 4x6
