HEX ERROR

Hello there: My colleague is on vacation so is not here to help me. When trying to edit documents I get the following error: "non hex character in hex string". Can someone tell me what to do in the simplest terms possible? I only do an odd revision of text so I don't know much about the program.
Thanks in advance.
Eileen

youneedhelp,
You may try to follow the instructions here,
http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/enable-content-recovery-mode-illustrator.html
then read through the code to try to find the non hex characters in one (or more) of the hex strings.
You may try to use search to find occurrecnces of hex, or for specific hex values if she remembers some of them.
Obviously, you need to know which hex characters are viable: there should be 6 characters, and you can see the viable characters/combinations here:

    Hi,
    Does anyone know what Error Access violation address 000835D7 in Diadem 2012 is??
    Thanks

    Hi Leillo,
    If it never throws an error when you run it without debugging, then I'd suggest you debug with MsgBox commands instead of the VBScript Debugger.  Probably it will throw an error when run without debugging, though.  If you can describe a recipe for causing this error, please send/post all required files ([email protected]) and the recipe description to us, and we'll see if we can track down the problem.  Those hex error codes mean nothing to me.

  • Labview myRIO 2013 stopped working after product activation, system vi files not found, (Hex 0x8004041F)

    Hello,
    My Labview myRIO 2013 had been working while it was in its evaluation period. Recently, I activated Labview 2013 with a 6-month activation code. Now, if I try and create the standard myRIO tutorial starting project, when it tries to load "Main.vi", it stops and says:
    Loading:
    <vilib>:\myRio\Common\Instrument Driver Framework\myRio v1.0\myRIO v1.0 Reset FPGA.vi
    Searching:
    C:\Prog... \LabVIEW 2013\Targets\instr.lib
    and it pops up a file browser dialog box.
    I found the file in C:\Program Files (x86)\LabVIEW 2013\vi.lib\... , so I manually added that path to Labview's VI search paths, closed everything, and re-opened Main.vi .
    After doing so, I can get Main.vi to load and display properly after taking it's dear sweet time to recursively search vi.lib\* for each vi file, but if I try to run it, I get a crytic and un-googlable error message:
    NI System Configuration: (Hex 0x8004041F) The operation failed because of missing dependency items.
    It gives no further information on what dependency items are missing.
    Why did Labview work before? It had no problem finding dependency vi files before I activated the product. The "Getting Started" demo apps still work fine, reading accelerometer data and controlling the led's on the myRIO, so I know the myRIO itself is working, along with the USB connection.
    One final note, the "Labview 2013 Real-Time Module" has not been activated. Could that be the problem?

    Hi Mike,
    That Hex error message only occured if I tried to run the VI by clicking on the little "run" button at the top left. Main.vi would open just fine, after locating all of the vi files.
    So I seemed to have fixed my particular issue (for now)... I had noticed after I typed in my activation code that Labview was telling me that I had additional evaluation time available to me. I had been ignoring those messages because, 1. I had an activation code and therefore didn't need additional evaluation time, and 2. Labview was opening and appeared to be running just fine, whereas before I applied the activation code, Labview would not even start. So, towards the end of my adventure after I felt I had applied my forehead to my keyboard a sufficient amount, I finally said "Ok whatever, give me additional evaluation time", and voila, all of my previous issues disappeared. Vi files were being found normally as before, and I was no longer getting that Hex error when I hit the run button.
    I'm not sure exactly what components I'm getting "additional evaluation time" for, but whatever component it is, it seems to have fixed my problems.
    So anyway, thanks for the support! Hopefully this fixes my problem for good

  • Unable to Install Windows Server 2012 on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Hyper-V

    My attempts to install are failing with a message "Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing....Error code: 0x800705070".
    I am posting this on the Wondows 2012 Server forum but I have had exactly the same problem as described below with Windows 2008 R2 SP1.
    As the title says this is on a Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 host with all current updates. I have downloaded the ISO file from a Technet subscription file twice, once by direct download and once by the Akamai downloader. The virtual disk is connected with
    the default IDE driver. I mounted both installation images as ISOs, located on a file system on the host server.  I have tried installs by deleting the VM and recreating both the VM and a new virtual disk, re-using a previously created virtual disk, and
    deleting the partitions in a previously created virtual disk, and executing the format command, and then attempting the install.
    I have exactly the same problem trying to create a Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 VM on the same host OS.  With those attempts, I downloaded the Technet subscription iso 4 or 5 times, and burned one to a DVD which I attached to the created VM.  Same
    error message.
    The virtual machines and virtual disks I created and used were all located on an RAID5 array, on a builtin Intel RAID controller using Intel Rapid Storage Technology software version 11.2.0.1066.  The host Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 uses this file system
    but the OS is installed on a dedicated drive (C).
    I had previously created a guest VM with Windows Server 2008 R2 (several months worth of updates ago) without drama.
    I have spent hours reading forums and blog articles on this.  A common response is to download the iso another time, and/or burn it to a DVD instead of mounting an iso image. Although I didn't do the later yet with 2012 Server, but I have done these
    other steps attempting to install Windows 2008 Server SP1. The install process takes a while (not to mention doing multiple downloads). Given this seems to be a common recommended remedy, and indeed based on posts does seem to eliminate the problem is some
    cases, why doesn't somebody change the Microsoft installer program so it does a thorough integrity check at the beginning of the install process?

    Jeff,
    After the exercise of Windows 2012 Server successfully installing (as I described above) I also successfully installed Windows 2008 R2 on Hyper-V.  From my standpoint, I have eliminated the problem (which isn't the same as correcting the problem).
    The answer to your specific question regarding Hyper-V support is that the motherboard I am using, an Asus P5Q, is not supported by Windows 2008 R2 because it doesn't use ECC memory, and the vendor doesn't say it supports Windows 2008. But I am sure you
    know the motherboard vendors often don't test older motherboards with newer software versions.  It appears that in specifying ECC memory Microsoft is trying to protect users of Windows Server from hurting themselves, not saying the software won't run.
    Having said that, my suspicion in the beginning was, and still is, that it was some variable(s) left in an unknown state in the Hyper-V environment, which was why after trying to install Windows 2008 R2 several times I tried Windows 2012 which resulted in
    the same error, and then encountered the same error trying to install Windows 7 on the same Hyper-V installation. The specific Hyper-V Windows 2008 R2 server had run without any operating problems for months before I started having trouble, and although it
    had been quite a while since I had created VMs, that process used to work.  The hardware didn't change. What changed was applying updates through Microsoft Update, and a few access control rights I changed, and at least I think, I set back to their original
    value.
    So in short, no, my hardware isn't supported by Windows 2008 Server.  Two, your assertion that you are running the same software configuration that I am is very unlikely to be true. There are an extremely large number of things which are different between
    your test system and mine, such as which Windows 2008 components are installed, what updates were installed and in what order they were installed, and what other third party software each of us is running, and between AD, and all the features, a large number
    of potential differences in ACLs, options, etc. and I don't for a minute think this particular problem was caused by the underlying hardware.
    I do appreciate your taking the time to try to help me, and I hope there is one thing you and I could agree on. Microsoft could pretty easily make it much easier to isolate problems. In this day and age reporting hex error codes (as opposed to doing the
    table lookup in the error handling proc), and not providing more diagnostic information seems to me to be almost quaint.  And in this case Microsoft can dismiss my problems on the grounds it was all on unsupported hardware. Unfortunately, I think they
    are missing an opportunity to make their software better, because in my opinion what I encountered there are a set of conditions which will cause installations to fail that aren't going to get corrected.

  • Windows 7 Network Drivers No Longer Works

    Bought a MBP a week ago, just installed Windows 7 on its own partition, installed bootcamp, everything worked fine for the first day. The next day, it did not recognize my network drivers (wireless, ethernet). Control Panel states that they are not installed correctly with an exclamation mark. I've tried installing the drivers from Windows, it 'could no find file'. I've tried reinstalling the drivers using MBP BC CD, after its finished, it reboots, and windows tries to install the remaining drivers. A windows popup keeps stating that 'driver was not installed correctly' and the BC CD does not resolve the issue. I've tried uninstalling the drivers and then manually installing as well as rebooting and allowing windows to reinstall the drivers. Nothing has worked.
    So that leaves me with this conclusion, the drivers are now missing from the Windows partition as they can not be found and the drivers on the MBP BC CD will not install successfully for some strange reason. It kind of makes it hard to do anything at this point.
    Before this happened, I did encounter a BSOD, but did not give me much information on why (there was a hex error code though). It's a bit frustrating not being able to install the drivers from disk, even manually. Not sure why it won't install successfully, shouldn't be a hardware issue since it works fine on OS X 10.6.
    Any thoughts, help or opinions would be much appreciated.

    Here are things I tried....which I accumulated from multiple forums....and, unfortunately none worked for me, but might work for you:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=11518129#11518129
    What did work for me: deleting the driver. reinstalling it. rebooting my router about 5-7 times, and they finally connected.
    probably just dumb luck.

  • Update (....) already installed, skipping

    Hello, anyone have suggestions for this issue on a couple of hundred Windows 7 Professional SP1 clients?
    The one machine I'm looking at currently has no errors in the scan agent log or the Windows update log.  The WUAHandler log has the text in the subject line for 13 different updates.  After that text the next line is 'No updates were actionable
    for installation'.
    The Updates Deployment log shows a ciStateError for each of the updates and then a line stating 'Not refreshing update presence stat as error CI Info status received'.  The next line has information about update failure including the Win32ErrorCode
    of 2147747432.
    The Updates Handler log has a line for each of the updates with the same Win32ErrorCode above.
    I have attempted several fixes including stopping the Windows Update service, renaming the c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder, and starting the Windows Update service.  I have also re-registered various Windows Update related DLL files.
    Unfortunately I cannot run the Mr. Fixit software update troubleshooter as these machines are remote to me.  They are also end user machines so avoiding reboots would be preferrable.  I can reboot them if absolutely neccesary though.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    hmm, 217747432 (decimal) = 0x80040668 (hex)
    and, that hex error has a reference on the CM doc library:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb735894.aspx
    if you run a deployment re-evaluation cycle (which by default is only weekly), that might clear it up?

  • Incorrect recovery disks

    My HP DV4-2165DX laptop hard drive died 3 months out of warranty. I purchased a replacement hardrive and then had to buy recovery disks from HP. When I attempted to use them an error appeared stating "This system is not supported by the system recovery disks" and a long hex error code. I called HP tech support and was told they were the wrong disks and after 47 minutes I was told they could refund my money and I could order the correct ones through the website. However entering the same information would produce the same result. Unless someone has a better idea then it is time for a Dell and further blogging about HP.

    Hi:
    If you can still read all 25 characters of the W7 product key on the bottom of your notebook, you can make your own plain W7 installation media and use that to get Windows reinstalled on your notebook.
    Link to the W7 ISO file downloads is below. Download the applicable version of Windows 7 that is on your product key (Home Premium, Pro, or Ultimate).  The SP1 Media Refresh files are the latest ISO files.
    http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/14709-Windows-7-Digital-River-direct-links-Multiple-Languag...
    Use the Windows 7 USB/DVD installation tool to compile the ISO file you download from Digital River. Link  below. You need a DVD or a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB method of compilation.
    Use the 25 character windows 7 product key to activate your installation.
    http://download.cnet.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-Download-Tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html
    Then go to the PC's support and driver page to install the drivers you need.

  • Crash app windows phone 8 512mb ram

    hi, my app have a problem. when i go to the page where i have an iframe/webview with a video, if i have a phone with 512 mb ram the app crash,  if i have 1gb or more the app work...where is the problem?

    Hello,
    What is the resolution and bitrate of the video? It is possible that the frame size of the video is greater than the available video memory causing the problem.
    Also, do you know the exact hex error code that you are getting? The hex error code should look something like: 0x80004005. The hex error code can give us much more information about why the underlying crash is occurring.
    Thanks,
    James

    Hello
    I have a VeriStand-Project (VSP) created with my Laptop-Host (LTH) which works with my PXI, while

    The software versions of the NI products (MAX/My System/Software) between my LTH and the iPC are
    almost the same. The only differences are:
    1. LabView Run-Time 2009 SP1 (64-bit); is installed on LTH but missing on iPC. The iPC has a 32-bit system.
    2. LabView Run-Time 2012 f3; is installed on LTH but missing on iPC.
    3. NI-DAQmx ADE Support 9.3.5; something strage on the LTH, because normally I am using NI-DAQmx 9.5.5 and all other DAQmx products on my LTH are 9.5.5. That means NI-DAQmx Device Driver 9.5.5 and NI-DAQmx Configuration 9.5.5.. On the iPC side all three products are 9.5.5.. That means NI-DAQmx ADE Support 9.5.5, NI-DAQmx Device Driver 9.5.5 and NI-DAQmx Configuration 9.5.5..
    4. Traditional NI-DAQ 7.4.4; The iPC has this SW installed. On the LTH this SW is missing.
    In order to fix this problem I have formatted my PXI and I have installed the following SW from the iPC:
    1. LabVIEW Real-Time 11.0.1
    2. NI-488.2 RT 3.0.0
    3. NI_CAN 2.7.3
    Unfortunately the above stated problem still arose.
    What can I do to fix this problem?
    I found a hint on http://www.labviewforum.de/Thread-XNET-CAN-die-ersten-Gehversuche.
    There it is written to deploy the dbc file againt.
    If this is a good hint, so how do I deploy a dbc file?
    I would feel very pleased if somebody could help me! :-)
    Best regards
    Lukas Nowak

    Hi Lukas,
    I think the problem is caused by differenet drivers for the CAN communication.
    NI provides two driver for CAN: NI-CAN and NI-XNET.
    NI-CAN is the outdated driver which is not longer used by new hardware. NI replaced the NI-CAN driver with NI-XNET some years ago, which supports CAN, LIN and the FLEXRAY communication protocol.
    You wrote:

    3. NI_CAN 2.7.3
    NI CAN is the outdated driver. I think that you should try to install NI-XNET instead of NI-CAN on your PXI-System, to get rid of the error message.

  • Uploading a file into DB error occured: ORA-01465: invalid hex number

    While uploading a file into the DB, It is promting an error: "ORA-01465: invalid hex number"
    how to convert a binary data to hex format in this case.

    Hello again,
    Ok, to upload into the database through APEX, using the file browser, you need to do the following:
    1. Create the file browser item on your page.
    2. Create a page process that is executed on the SUBMIT button.
    The code should be something like this:
    IF ( :P1_FILE_NAME is not null ) THEN
      INSERT INTO oehr_file_subject(id,NAME, SUBJECT, BLOB_CONTENT, MIME_TYPE)
      SELECT ID,:P1_FILE_NAME,:P1_SUBJECT,blob_content,mime_type
         FROM APEX_APPLICATION_FILES

  • Numeric or value error: hex to raw conversion error , pls help

    I am having problem with a sproc which accepts a Raw parameter.
    I have a table called Profile:
    CREATE TABLE PROFILES
    PROFILEID INTEGER NOT NULL,
    USERID INTEGER NOT NULL,
    PROFILE RAW(255)
    and a sproc named addprofile
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE addprofile
    profile IN RAW,
    userName IN VARCHAR2
    AS
    userId INT;
    BEGIN
    GetUserIdByName( userName, userId);
    INSERT INTO Profiles
    ( ProfileID,userId , profile )
    VALUES ( Profiles_ProfileID_SEQ.NEXTVAL,AddProfile.userId ,
    AddProfile.profile );
    END;
    I am calling the Ent Library's Insert profile method which is part of DbProfileProvider.cs (Security App block). It is trying to persist a serialized profile object into the database.
    private void InsertProfile(string userName, byte[] serializedProfile,
    Data.Database securityDb, IDbTransaction transaction)
    DBCommandWrapper cmd = securityDb.GetStoredProcCommandWrapper
    (SPAddProfile);
    cmd.AddInParameter("userName", DbType.String, userName);
    cmd.AddInParameter("profile", DbType.Binary, serializedProfile);
    securityDb.ExecuteNonQuery(cmd, transaction);
    I get the following error:
    Any suggestion on what needs to be changed to get this working? thanks!

    Harsh,
    I am not a user of the Enterprise Library so I can not speak to the specifics of that. However, here is a short sample that is based on the information you've provided. Perhaps it will be useful.
    Database:
    create table profiles
      profileid integer not null,
      userid    integer not null,
      profile   raw(255)
    create or replace procedure addprofile
      p_profileid in integer,
      p_userid    in integer,
      p_profile   in raw
    as
    begin
      insert into
        profiles (profileid, userid, profile)
        values (p_profileid, p_userid, p_profile);
    end;
    /C# code:
    using System;
    using System.Data;
    using System.Text;
    using Oracle.DataAccess.Client;
    using Oracle.DataAccess.Types;
    namespace HarshTest
      /// <summary>
      /// Summary description for Class1.
      /// </summary>
      class Class1
        /// <summary>
        /// The main entry point for the application.
        /// </summary>
        [STAThread]
        static void Main(string[] args)
          // connect to local db using o/s authentication
          OracleConnection con = new OracleConnection("User ID=/; Pooling=False");
          con.Open();
          // create command object and set properties
          OracleCommand cmd = new OracleCommand();
          cmd.Connection = con;
          cmd.CommandText = "ADDPROFILE";
          cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;
          // parameter object for profileid
          OracleParameter p_profileid = new OracleParameter();
          p_profileid.OracleDbType = OracleDbType.Int32;
          p_profileid.Value = 1;
          p_profileid.Direction = ParameterDirection.Input;
          // parameter object for userid
          OracleParameter p_userid = new OracleParameter();
          p_userid.OracleDbType = OracleDbType.Int32;
          p_userid.Value = 1;
          p_userid.Direction = ParameterDirection.Input;
          // create a byte array for the raw value
          ASCIIEncoding encoder = new ASCIIEncoding();
          byte[] byteArray = encoder.GetBytes("TestProfile");
          // parameter object for profile
          OracleParameter p_profile = new OracleParameter();
          p_profile.OracleDbType = OracleDbType.Raw;
          p_profile.Value = byteArray;
          p_profile.Direction = ParameterDirection.Input;
          // add parameters to collection
          cmd.Parameters.Add(p_profileid);
          cmd.Parameters.Add(p_userid);
          cmd.Parameters.Add(p_profile);
          // execute the stored procedure
          try
            cmd.ExecuteNonQuery();
          catch (OracleException ex)
            Console.WriteLine(ex.Message);
          // clean up objects
          p_profile.Dispose();
          p_userid.Dispose();
          p_profileid.Dispose();
          cmd.Dispose();
          con.Dispose();
    }Maybe the part about creating the byte array is what you are missing...

  • Non-hex character in a hex string error message

    Hi everyone,
    I encountered n error message in Illustrator "Acrobat PDF File Format is having difficulties. Non-hex character in a hex string." when trying to open a particular file.
    File was originally created on a Windows 7 PC, tried opening file on Mac OS 10.7.5, same Illustrator version 18. Also tried opening in PDF, Distiller, but didn't help.
    Did tried to change Illustrator Preferences in both Windows and Mac, following the steps in the TecNote:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/500/cpsid_50031.html
    When trying to open the file from the File > Open menu, with the keys held down, it did not open a blank file window, neither did it created a duplicate copy in the Finder where the file is located.
    The file in question had about 15 artboards,  a few embedded images, approx 2.6MB size.
    Any suggestions/assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi Monika,
    The file was .ai file, as mentioned earlier, was created in Illustrator ver 18.
    Not emailed, stored in the folder, on the Windows PC, not a server. Last saved few days ago, tried to reopen the file from the same computer, but could no longer opened.
    No, Illustrator did not crash, just the error message "Acrobat PDF File Format is having difficulties. Non-hex character in a hex string."

  • Unicode error, Split Variable at HEX 00 into ITAB

    Hello all,
    We will be changing our system to a Unicode system next year.  As we are modifying existing programs, we are setting the Unicode flag and correcting any errors.  In this one particular program I have run across a situation  for which I have not been able to find a solution.  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
    This error occurs when the following code is checked.
    HEX must be a character-type data object
    data hex type x.    "Binary zeros
    data: begin of i_apqd occurs 0.
            include structure apqd.
    data: end of i_apqd.
    data: begin of itab occurs 0,
            field(150),
          end of itab.
    split i_apqd-vardata+20 at hex into table itab.
    This is what i_apqd-vardata+20 looks like in the debugger.
    ##SAPMF05A0100##BKPF-BLDAT#11072006#BKPF-BLART#KR#BKPF-BUKRS#100#BKPF-budat#11072006
    This program is a custom developed utility program to display the contents of a BDC session.
    Thanks
    Bruce

    try this:
    data hex type x value '00'.
    field-symbols: <hex> type x,<char> type c.
    data: begin of i_apqd occurs 0.
    include structure apqd.
    data: end of i_apqd.
    data: begin of itab occurs 0,
    field(150),
    end of itab.
    assign hex to <hex>.
    assign <hex> to <char> casting.
    split i_apqd-vardata+20 at <char> into table itab.
