If you followed these instructions and you were unable to enter recovery mode, I'm still leaning toward a hardware problem. Also, since you have IOS-7, read this. It might help.

For some reason when I go to update my old itunes version (10.6.3) it wont let me get the new itunes11. I need a newer version of itunes but when I go on my computer to download and get things updated it says it has no new updates. I now have a new phone, since my iphone4 broke and I cant use it because everything it outdated and now I don't know how to update anything. It's taking me all day just to get a working phone!!!

I restarted my iphone after it wouldnt stop restarting every 5 seconds so i plugged it into i tunes backed it up and restored it but when i did my phone had no data and that back up i made is gone... is there anyway i can get this back please eveything is gone, 1,700 photos 500 contacts all my emails and texts. i have a Time Machine can i restore itunes that way and have it?
I suggest plugging your iPhone into a wall socket, and letting it sit for many hours (while connected to WiFi).

Not knowing what your tried and what happened:
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode. -
Friends with their own ipads connected to my router experience similar non-availability of updated "My Location" when in my home.
So it seems to be a router issue rather than an iPad issue. However I have seen comment elsewhere that it may be because Apple's location database does not have my router location listed. I have no idea how authoritative a response this was, or simply a guess, and wonder if Apple themselves have confirmed this as an issue for them to address. If there are piles of routers out there which Apple don't recxognize the location of, it seems rather pointless a facility!
If anyone has resolved the problem by switching their routers to a different make/model I would be interested in their feedback.If you have the WiFi-only iPad your location is determined by the location of nearby WiFi routers. The WiFi-only iPad does not have GPS. Without GPS location-finding is done by using a Apple location database which contains the MAC addresses of routers and their physical location. A MAC address is a unique number which is built-in to all network devices when manufactured. The Apple database is built and updated by Apple GPS-enabled devices (primarily iPhones) actually seeing your router and then adding/updating the router's location in the database.
Bottom line: Your Router is probably not yet in the Apple location database. It hasn't been seen yet and added to the database. Without this your iPad cannot be located. Unfortunately, there is no way for users to request information to be added to Apple's database. -
My iphone cut off while using itunes and now it wont work. it cuts on and off and it wont restore.
while putting music on my iphone from itunes my iphone suddenly cut off. it wouldnt come back on unless hooked up to charger and even then it turns on and off.. i have tried restoring it but it wont work. it actually restored once but it just started doing the same thing within an hour. every other time it errors out. what can i do?

Been using my iPod and I bring it to work to copy over a book on CD. It hasn't been hooked up to my computer at work in a few weeks but works well at home. It plays the music I HAD on it but when I pluged it in on my work computer I get the "I Tunes has Detected an iPod in Recovery Mode" message and it says it needs to recovery it to work.
In the Summary page in iTunes I see that my iPod is up to date but my iPod has lost its name and it says I need to recover it. I ran the recovery, it downloaded what it needed, installed on my iPod and it restarted. Now I get the "I Tunes has Detected an iPod in Recovery Mode" again and again it asks to recover.

under the circumstances you describe, it seems most likely that the relentless recovery mode message on the work PC is being caused by a Windows drive letter confusion on the work PC.

I've done all of these, even trying a different USB port, and still, nothing. This is really confusing. Windows 8.1 said something to do with USB malfunction or something and nothing works. I need to restore my iPhone quickly and nothing has happened. My cable is not genuine Apple product. iTunes makes the noise that it makes when I connect the device, but it doesn't say 'iPhone is in recovery mode' or even say 'iPhone' in the corner. I am really fed up and would really appreciate a response.
