HFM system 9.3.1 Allocation rules

Hi,
I wonder if you can help me out with the following issue.
I want to allocate with rules the expenses booked by an entity X (e.g expense account.ICP counterpartyEntity Y = 100) as a revenue for the counterparty entity Y (e.g. revenue account*EntityY*.ICP counterpartyEntity X = 100).
I think the allocation rules would be the best solution since i understand it is not possible to write data to a different entity(datacube) from the normal calculate() rules. I can't get these allocation rules to work. I wrote a very simple allocation rule, very similar to the one written on the documentation but i get an error when loading the rules. This is the error i get:

Maybe if you have a working example of allocation rules i think i can see what i'm doing wrong. Or if you have any other idea on how book the expenses+ICPcourterparty reported by one entity as revenue of the couterparty.

I went to SM30. But I dont <b>what to do there to make the field come in SE16</b>.In sm30 when I clicked on No restrictions and display, the field which was missing not able to see. But when I click on restrictions and display, the field is there.

No system could activate this substitution rule

Hi,
While trying to set the substitution I am getting the error "No system could activate this substitution rule".
The tasks are appearing correctly on the UWL task list .please guide me on this issue.

Hi Jean-François,
Have you maintained the RFC destination as mentioned in note number 1133821? If this is not done you can see some issues with substitution. Also are you choosing a substitution profile other than All and does this profile exist in the system?

VAT allocation rules for pricing

Hi,
We have following scenario applicable to allocate VAT on a trade invoice :
1. VAT to be applied for a product on a trade invoice is depending of the combination of the country of the selling organization & the country of the customer ship-to location.
In Project 'ABC', it is found that this is currently implemented in SAP as
"the VAT to be applied for a product on a trade invoice is depending of the combination of the country of the plant code from which the product is shipped and the country of the customer ship-to location".
For example :
1. In case a French,Client Organization invoices a French customer for product shipped from a DC in
    Germany, the VAT rules are to de defined via a country France / France combination setting (while in
    Project 'ABC',this is done by Germany / France combination).
2. In case a Netherlands Client Organization invoices a Germany customer for product shipped from a
    DC in Belgium, the VAT rules are to de defined via a country Netherlands / Germany combination
    setting (while in project 'ABC' this is done by Belgium / Germany combination).
The way, project 'ABC'' rules are implemented in SAP, represents two issues :
3. Unnecessary, fault sensitive VAT data maintenance : in case a product is shipped from a DC in
    another country (e.g. in case of availability issues), then VAT rules are to be defined in Project 'ABC'
    settings for the new DC country / customer country combination.
     If not, no VAT will be allocated (without users being aware)
4. In case a Belgian Client organization ship product from a French to a customer in Belgium :
    Belgium only VAT rules should apply.
    In case a Netherlands P&G organization ship product from a French to a customer in Belgium :
    combination Netherlands / Belgium VAT rules should apply.
    But, in Project 'ABC' Prof VAT is determined through the France / Belgium combination in both
    scenarios.
Please advise how VAT solution can work from pricing perspective.
Any pointers on this will be highly apperciated.

BE3.5 : Error from the source system while activating the transfer rule

When I was trying to activate the transfer rule for one info object( charateristic with master data) , I got the following error in [[ ]]
Error when creating transfer structure /BIC/CCPIZGR00CC_ATTR in source system CI2220
Diagnosis
An error occurred when creating transfer structure /BIC/CCPIZGR00CC_ATTR as an IDoc segment in source system CI2220 .
System response
The action was terminated. No data was changed.
Procedure
Use the generation log in source system CI2220 to identify the error, and remove the cause.
CI2220 is the backend R/3 system, I had no issue in replicating the data source etc. this error occurred while trying to activate the transfer rule after assigning the info source to the replicated datasource in BW.
Can anybody tell me how to view( what transaction etc) the generation log to understand the issue?

Hi Arunabha,
I would confrim that there is no issue with the datasource in your r/3 system. Can you run the datasource on your r/3 system with no errors using RSA3?
If the datasource is ok, then I would check out the error message number in OSS or SDN. I have seen this error before, I just cannot recall what the fix was.

HFM System Error (URGENT)

Hi All,
I am confronting an error in HFM 9.3.1. This is a system log error.
The error is "*_Error: The maximum calculation limit of 5 was reached_*."
I am unable to guess what the reason may be.
I tried to go in Hyperion Reporting and search for any formulae error but was unable to find one.
Can anyone please suggest what could be the possible cause of such type of error?

Unable to view HFM System Messages - Very Very Urgent Please.............

I am having issues with seeing Users on system or system messages in release HFM 11.1.2.1 I get a message that *"You do not have the proper access rights to perform this task."* and I ensured that in the configuration the creator group and administrator group are set up as administrators. I have not been able to find anything that I can change security wise.

I believe your user ID is not contained within the group set up in the HFM configuration's "application administrator". This group is independent of the role "administrator" since it is set at the server level, not application level. The same group controls access to the enable/disable connnections, and logout users feature.

I have gone through your problem, even i faced it a month back but i worked on it and solved it.
Resolution:
I hope you r trying to install HFM as Server(If yes) then dear Windows XP is not the correct OS.
Kindly go through the 9.3 support matrix guide and the install HFM9.3.0.1/9.3.1.0 on Windows 2003 Standard(SP3) / Enterprise(SP2) / Windows 2000 (SP4).
The error your are facing:
Resolution:(After installing proper OS)
1: Install HFM and required Hyperion Foundation services.
2: then install BI+ and BI+UI services. As you can view the HFM web client only through Workspace in system 9.3.

HFM -System Messages

Hi,
Currently there is month end Process going on in our concern. while we monitoring the server we encountered lot of system messages.. this is one among " Unspecified Error"-Transaction (Process ID xxx) was deadlocked on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction.;
What does it mean? Can anyone comment on this

we used to get similar errors in HFM. We haven't received these errors since we applied all of the available service Packs for 9.3.1. I'm not sure what causes it. I wish I could be more helpful.

System Preferences pane and ipfw rules conflict

If i configure ipfw rules using this script (launced with sudo):

or using WaterRoof (http://www.hanynet.com/waterroof/).
When I try to access the Firewall configuration page of the System Preferences pane an alert window notice me that there is another software firewall already running and that I should disable it to be able to access rules configurations from the System Preferences pane.
Is it gone crazy? What should I do to have access to firewall configuration from the System Preference pane and contemporary have access to commandline advanced rules, avoiding them to conflict?

The "solved" post in this thread addresses how to regain control, albeit not while simultaneously allowing control from a command line ipfw or the WaterRoof GUI front-end.
The first "helpful" post in that same thread talked about how if Sys Prefs Sharing saw an altered ipfw list, then Sharing assumed other firewall software was running, so you got the "other firewall" splash screen, or something like that.
It appears that they don't like to coexist, and there's probably nothing that you can do about it.

Thank you for the answer.
We have already started writing and the allocation rules for cost related accounts from parent entities to base entities and it seems quite handy for the users who used to extract the data into excel and then create journals in order to allocate the costs on the appropriate entities. Now, the users only have to trigger the allocation.
I created this topic in order to hear/collect the experiences of other users (like you) because based on my experience there are not a lot of hyperion applications that use the allocation.

CLIENT of the source system in the Transfer Rules

Hi,
Can I get the CLIENT of the source system dynamically in the Transfer Rules (and assign it to an InfoObject)?
I have a generic extractor from a R/3 source system. The table in the source system & the extract structure the DataSource both contain MANDT, but its not coming in the RSO2 screen (which, if I'm not wrong, is how it should be).
I need the CLIENT info. in my BW data targets. I do not want to hardcode this value in Trans Rules as the client in Dev & Prod is different for my R/3 sys.
If I can't get it directly from the DataSource, is there any way I can get it from any system field using routine?
If I'm not wrong - SYST-MANDT in the Formulas will give me only my BW CLIENT.

i think if your bw dev and prod client is different you can try in transfer rules
if sy-mandt = xxx. ( bw dev client number)
result = 'yyy'. (source system dev)
else.
result = 'zzz'. (source system prod)
endif.
or enhance the extract structure/ append structure with zz field for mandt and field in user exit zxrsau01 with sy-mandt
or if use infoobject 0LOGSYS, populate in transfer rules with result = g_s_minfo-logsys.

How can I load data with Scripts on *FDM* to a HFM target System????

I need help because I can´t find a good guide about scripting on FDM. The problem I have is the next one.
I have on mind to load my data with data load file in FDM to a HFM target system, but I would like to load an additional data using an event script, ie after validate. I would need any way to access to HFM system though FDM Scripts, is it possible??
If so, It would be wonderful to get a data from HFM with any Point of View, reachable from FDM Scripts in order to load or getting any data.
I´ve looking for a good guide about scripting in FDM but I couldn´t find any information about accessing data on HFM target system, does it really exist?

Hi,
Take a look at the LOAD Action scripts of your adapter. This might give you an idea.
Theoretically it should be possible to load data in an additional load, but you need to be very careful. You don't want to corrupt any of the log and status information that is being stored during the load process. The audit trail is an important feature in many implementations. In this context it might not be a good idea to improve automation and risk compliance of your system.

Rule based system in SQL

we have an airline pricing system whose rules change often, and rather than re-designing tables and the client application code everytime that happens, we would like to develop a rule-based system to dynamically store the rules in a rule-based system that doesn't require re-design and code modification.

here is an example of the data that we would like to store
if seasonality is LOW
and passenger is CHILD
and carrier is TRW
and origination is COS
and destination is PIT
and ticket code is Y
then price is 908
seasonality for carrier TRW is LOWfor travel between 01/15/06 to 04/15/06
seasonality for carrier JAR is LOW for travel between 02/01/06 to 05/01/06
age for carrier TRW is CHILD for passenger age betwen 2 and 12

reason is ask in this forum is I read a blog of someone who praises the set-based nature of the SQL language for developing exactly this kind of system, rather than trying to implement it on the client (for example using JRules)

What version of Oracle are you on? 10g introduced a rules engine into the database (Oracle Rules Manager and/or Oracle Expression Filter) which would seem to be right up your alley.

Is it possible to copy the SoD rules in the same system to diff. Rule SetId

We have created SoD rules as per our business requirement in RAR 5.3 Component connecting to the QA system. We want to copy the same rules into another different RULE SET for the same QA system. Is this possible?
Ex: ABRULE SET - Tailored as per Business Requirement and generated rules linking to QA system [Manually configured the SoD rules].We will use this Rule set for our Production System as it was frozen as per the Business Requirement (This we will do by establishing another JCO to production system)
We wanted to copy the entire SoD rules of ABRULESET to another rule set say YZRULESET. This YZRULESET we will use for making any configuration changes in future before making changes to ABRULESET which will be connected to Production System.
Is it possible to copy the SoD RULES from one Rule Set ID to another Rule Set ID within the same system? If yes, please provide us the procedure on how to copy the rules of one Rule set Id to another Rule set ID.
We explored the options of Export & Import Rules but no where it asked for new Rule Set ID for copying.

Here is a method I've seen a few customers use, which seems like a good idea:
- load the standard rule set
- create a new empty rule set
- create your risks in the new rule set ( initially this could be a re-import of the risks, risk_desc and risk_ruleset files with a few changes done in excel to change the IDs)
This means you have an exact copy of the SAP standard risks in your own rule set, using the SAP functions.
Even if you have to define your own risks, there's an enormous value in the functions. The identification of TCodes and objects that do similar business transactions is probably the most difficult thing to reproduce on your own.
Now, whenever you have to change a risk (risk level, description, owner) you do that in your own name space
If you have to change a function (modify objects, add custom TCodes), you COPY the function to your own name space and change the risk in your name space to use the changed function.
If you want to be smart, you do all your own stuff in copies of the text files that come with the support packs (i.e. not in rule architect). That may not be an option if your compliance requirements want you to use the change history or automatic workflows that RAR provides, but if you don't need that, here's the advantage of this:
When a new set of rules arrives every few months, you delete your rules with a deletion script you can get from SAP support, upload the standard rule text files, upload your own text files, and you're set with your own rule set that makes use of SAP's latest updated functions.
This is (currently) basically the only way to automatically apply SAP changes without doing it manually, thus leveraging changes to functions by SAP.
All your changes will be in your own text files, which you can document and version control according to your requirements.
Not exactly the way according to the manual, but an interesting concept worth considering.
