My iPod is the 4th generation I my iPod can be updated to everything else but the today when I tried going on my software update iOS 7 is not showing up can u help me fix that or can u update it for me
iOS 7 apparently requires at least 512MB of RAM. The fourth generation iPod touch only has 256MB, and therefore won't get it.

My ipod touch 4th generation no longer holds it's charge for more than 40mins from full power, think it needs a new internal battery but have no idea how to go about this and am no longer covered by my guarantee. Can anyone advise me on what's best? Thanks in advance
Using the battery level meter in this manner is comparable to using your car's fuel gauge to calculate miles per gallon. The only thing that matters is the total amount of operating time from full charge to auto-shutdown.
Use an Apple wall-mount charger. Do NOT use a computer's USB port. Then, operate it normally until auto shut-down (ignore any low level alerts that may appear). An irony is that doing that test to determine the total operating time is also the exact procedure necessary to calibrate the battery level meter.
I'm not claiming that you do not have a problem. I am stating, however, that we don't yet know whether or not a battery problem exists.

Use Your iPod Regularly
For proper reporting of the battery’s state of charge, be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).
Elsewhere, Apple elaborates and explains that two half-discharges (or four quarter-discharges, etc.) equals one full discharge. -

Hello all,
I need some assistance with downloading the new iOS 5 software for my iPod touch 4th generation (32GB). Once connected, my iTunes says that a newer version is available and when I click on "update," the standard boxes appear and when i click on "download and update," it appears to download just as expected, but after a few minutes, an error box pops up and says that my "network connection timed out" and to "try again later"...
I have tried to get around this in every which way possible, but the same error box pops up each time. I have checked AND double checked my network and its connections and I am 100 percent sure they are stable. I have downloaded the latest version of iTunes (10.5). I even re-installed it, just in case. I have also tried clicking the "download only" option instead of "download and update"... No different.
In previous discussions, I have inferred that having my media on an external hard drive may cause some issues...? If this is the case, please note that all my media is on an external hard drive that connects to my computer via USB.
I am looking for any and all advice to help resolve this issue as the my warrenty has expired and I do not want to pay for Apple Support. : ) plus, iOS 5 looks so cool and I really really want it!!!!

i have the ipod touch 4th generation and the screen is white, i was going to charge it and it turned white. I have tried to reset it but the apple logo will not show up and it will not turn on! i just got it for christmas... can you please help?
The way I did it was I got the free app sync:stream from the App Store and then added my ipod to my ps3's Bluetooth devices. Then went to audio settings and set output and input to 'Skaggs iPod' you then open the app and it will be listed under music as a media service. You then go to all tracks and click copy (press triangle) it will then begin to copy all of your songs onto your ps3 via Bluetooth. I haven't tried but I assume the same can be done with photos. Tried setting up my verizon e-mail account on iPod Touch, 4th generation. Am able to send out e-mail messages but none of my e-mails on my Mac show up in the inbox. Just get the "Checking for Mail" endlessly.

I just got a new iPod Touch 4th generation for my daughter. I have a iPhone 5 that is already set up on iTunes. The only thing I want on her iPod from my iTunes is music and apps. How do I set her iPod up so that it only gets that information? Do I set it up as a new device? If so will that alter my iTunes?

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

Got a black screen on the iPod Touch 4th Generation. Tried restoring it and holding the lock and hold buttons but this didnt work. Do i need a brand new screen?
If you successfully restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem. Could be the screen or something else.

Hi! Today I tried to update my ipod touch 4th generation to ios 6.0.1. But the final result was my ipod being reset to factory settings. I don't know what happened. Does it mean I lost everything on my ipod? How do I get everything back? I had backed up my ipod on my computer before updating. Will that help? I don't know what to do now. I'm not very good with anything electronic, so now I'm afraid to touch anything in case I make it worse...

I am trying to configure some new unsupervised iPod touch 4th generation using Apple Configurator but it won't give me the option to install the app that appears on the Apps tab. I have tested the to see whether it works in supervised mode and it does but in Prepare mode it won't let me tick the box.
