Not sure what you mean. Deleting a POP account only deletes the messages stored in the account’s mailboxes, not any messages stored in custom “On My Mac” mailboxes, if that’s what you mean. It’s not that Mail goes after your mail trying to delete as much as it can. It’s just that if a mail account is deleted, then its mailboxes cannot exist anymore...
That said, instead of deleting the account right away, you can just disable it (i.e. turn OFF Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Enable this account), leave it that way for some time, and delete it only after making sure you didn’t miss anything while the account was disabled.
BTW, if you back up your data, and the ~/Library/Mail folder in particular, you won’t have to worry about accidentally losing anything as a result of doing something like that...
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. That is, ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder, i.e. /Users/username/Library.

Once pictures are moved from your camera to your iPad (using the camera connection kit), how do you get the photos off of the iPad? They do not show up in my photo stream or my iCloud. I am able to see any photo I took on the iPad using the iPad camera (in iTunes, photo stream, or when I open windows explorer and browse the iPad director), however I cannot see any photos transfered from my camera to the iPad. The camera connection kit must have put my photos in a directory I cannot get to and cannot sync.

iPads are not "locked". Get an iPad data plan and sim card from a local provider and connect to their 3G/LTE service.

Plotters require continuous paths. Convert the selection to a path and clean it up suitably. Copy&paste it to Illustrator and use it as a clipping mask on your artwork or whatever. You may also need to create a duplicate layer/ separate PDF file file. Talk to the people doing the plotting.

Same way you did with the previous versions of iTunes.
To view the iPod in iTunes, Ctrl S to show the sidebar.
Create a playlist, add songs and sync that playlist.
Or drag songs to the iPod in iTunes.

Image sequence for contact sheets in Bridge CS4

I have been used to Contact Sheet in Photoshop but am now trying the Output option in Bridge. How can I change the order the photos appear on the sheet? Most are landscape format but a few are portrait and I would like to have the portrait format images all together and I don't see a way to effect what photos go where on the sheet. Is there a way? I also could only see the first of the two contact sheets. I'm sure there is an obvious way to review all but I haven't discovered how.

The preview in Bridge is limited to conserve resources. To see the whole thing, save the file and look at it.
You can always quickly redo it if you want to make changes.
Drag the thumbnails in the content pane to change the order.

Using Aperture2 and Ilife together: how do you do it?

I recently purchased Aperture 2 and have been getting my feet wet with it. I like it a lot and love how it integrates with iPhoto.
My question for those who use both is: how do you import?
do you import into aperture first? iphoto first?
How do you move your photos around?

I would definitely migrate to using Aperture for 99% of what you do with your images. In fact, I'd migrate everything you might've had in iPhoto over to Aperture to simplify things.
There are only a few things that iPhoto does that I can't do with Aperture--cards, calendars... Other than these few things, there aren't very many reasons to use iPhoto.
Now for the rest of your iLife apps... They're completely integrated with Aperture through the media browser. Okay, there aren't some one click capabilities you use with iPhoto. I don't think that's much of a problem in my workflow.

Yes. Unfortunately in bringing their mapping solution in-house, Apple lost access to Google's Street View data. It is a definite downgrade in functionality that should probably have been better explained in the release notes to the upgrade.

Yes, you can. If you use the current AirPort Express, Apple says that you can connect up to 50 devices. Realistically, make that 25-30 or so before the speed really begins to drop.
Remember that you will have to reset the modem though, before you connect it to the AirPort Express as the modem "remembers" the settings for your computer.

I assume you are talking about the Apple Superdrive that holds CDs.
There is no installation to do! Simply plug the Superdrive into a USB port on your MacBook Air, and then insert a CD into the drive.
