Disabling the computer's security software (firewall and antivirus) usually resolves that error.

  • I have a 4th gen ipod touch. I deleted soundcloud to reload it but now i cant install it cause its only for iOS 7 when it used to have a iOS 6 version. Any idea on how i can get soundcloud on my ipod? cause it sure wont let me now

Basically when i try to reinstall it says its only for iOS 7 or later and that I cant install it. Ive tried everything at this point.
    someone help

    Use this method:
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

Are you sure it is a 4G iPod?  Does it have a camera?

  • Sometimes when listening to music or a podcast, it will stop and start in rapid fire.  I have a 4th gen iPod Touch.

Sometimes when listening to music or a podcast, it will stop and start in rapid fire.  I have a 4th gen iPod Touch.  A Genius suggested something went wrong during the transfer from my MBP to my iPod, but I tried resyncing it, and it seems to happen haphazardly.  Even if a podcast plays oddly one time, it might play perfect the next - so it can't have been the sync that went bad.

    - First try a reset. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next restore from backup
    - The restore to factory defaults/new iPod

    Hi paul.lisa,
Then when you press down on one of those icons (on the actual Home screen), and all the icons start to wiggle, a small black "x" should show up in the upper left-hand corner:
    Cheers,

  • I have a 4th gen ipod touch.  Since I won't be able to upgrade to 7, should I not update apps?

I have a 4th gen iPod Touch.  Since I won't be able to upgrade to iOS7, should I avoid updating apps?  The app update notices I am receiving state the updates are to be compatible with iOS7.

The iPod will prevent you from install apps and app updates that require iOS7. Recently that have been problems with 4G iPod giving a bade indicating that update were available but when you went to the update section of the App Store app no updates were listed. That was due to an error on Apple's parts since the app updates were only compatible with iOS 7.

I have a 4th gen iPod touch that won't power up! I tried all the traditional stuff. I want to know how to tell if the battery is good. itunes see's the ipod in recovery mode. Tried dfu mode and did not work. Any ideas? I can hear the PC beep when plugging it in! I suspect a bad battery and trying to charge it ina wall charger made it hot!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. The appointment is free.

  • I'm having troubles connecting to my wifi at home. I have the 4th Gen. iPod touch. My screen is cracked, does this have anything to do with it? I recently had a trip down to LA, and before my trip the wifi was working fine. Is there anyway to fix this?

the wifi works perfectly fine on all my other electronics, and I've already tried reseting and moving the router. The wifi signal is only strong if I am within 5 feet of the router.

  • I have a 4th gen ipod touch and i reset to factory settings but it is frozen with the apple logo with a gray lined circle. I've tried running out battery and when i connected to itunes, it flashes gray and freezes again. I don't know what to do plz help.

it wont turn on after reset to factory settings

there is a program called recboot. you can download it for free in two parts. one part takes your device out of recovery mode and the other puts it into recovery mode. ive used it before but it doesnt always work and you have to be patient. try it and tell me what happens

  • I have a 4th Gen. iPod touch and it won't sync all my music. It syncs most but not all. How do I fix this?

I connect my ipod and it syncs and goes to add the music but it won't finish adding everything. It stops with like 20 songs left and when I click sync so it will add the others it does the four step process thing for connecting and then doesn't do anything.

If it plays in iTunes on the computer then delete from iPod and sync to iPod
Also try deleting and redownloading by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • My 4th Gen iPod touch is not recognised by my MacBook Pro but is by iTunes, so I cannot sync.

I have a new MacBook Pro Mavericks so i uploaded my iTunes library from my time machine back up, cleaned it up and added a few new albums. I now wish to update my iPod with these changes but when I plug it in iTunes recognises the iPod but the Desktop doesn't!
When I go to sync the iPod on iTunes it goes through 3 stages: 1. Waiting to sync, 2. Preparing to Sync, 3. Awaiting changes to be applied, then it stops and nothing happens.
Also, when I look into the details on my iPod under Wifi Sync, it says "Sync will resume when (name's computer) is available. This is quoting my previous Macbook which died on me hence the purchase of a new one.
How can I change the settings on my iPod to my new laptop name, and how can I make my new laptop recognise my iPod for the sync to work?
Many thanks if anyone can help.

  • My 4th gen Ipod Touch won't turn on/charge?

I have the 4th Gen Ipod touch. I was using it after it had been saying 20% battery remaining for awhile. I locked the screen, then I tryed to press the power button again to unlock it but it wouldn't work. I automatically assumed it had died completely so I tried plugging it in to charge. Even after letting it sit for a while it will not charge or turn on. I tried plugging it into a computer to charge as well, but my computer still wouldn't pick up on it. I tried the usual "hold down power button and home button at the same time for a few seconds" thing, but that was useless because my home button barely works. I cannot plug the ipod into a computer to restore it anyway, because my stuff isn't backed up and I am on iOS 4.something (as the original computer i had my iTunes on stopped working, so I havent been able to update it) so I will lose all my photos and music (I didn't purchase all my music from the itunes store). Does anybody have any suggestions? I tried calling Apple but Im out of warranty so they wouldn't help me, and theres only one Apple store in my state (and its nearly 4 hours away) so I'm basically screwed, right?

  • My 4th gen iPod touch has been plugged in for hours but it won't charge or turn on

I have a 4th gen iPod touch. It has been plugged in for hours but it won't charge or turn on. I cannot restore it because it won't show up in iTunes. I have tried pressing and holding the home and/or the power key but that does not work as well. I have tried restarting Apple Mobile Support. I have updated my iTunes. I have tried EVERYTHING but it will not turn on at all. Any suggestions?

    Hi BCarolinaCopper,
This sounds like you need to have a battery replacment this can be done if you have AppleCare or you will have to pay if unable to if the fault continues please
visit a apple store genuis bar contact them via this link or https://www.apple.com/uk/retail/geniusbar/ or through the support on https://getsupport.apple.com/GetproductgroupList.action
