Hi - I am trying to change my payment information but I keep getting the message that my session has timed out. I have turned my phone off but that doesn't seem to help.
Does anyone know what I need to do?
Thanks. :-)What are the exact error codes that are appearing when trying to update?
Have the steps for troubleshooting those errors as listed in the article from which the question was posted been tried? -
Help! When I try to purchase a song from iTunes and have agreed to the terms and conditions, it then tells me that my session has timed out... but I've only been trying for a few minutes. I can't buy songs if it keeps doing this! Does anyone know why it's doing this and how to fix it? Thanks!
Hi mterry1723, one solution that might be worth trying is this:
- Close iTunes, if it's open
- Open Safari and got to 'Preferences'
- Select 'Security' on the top
- Untick all the security options in the menu
- Click the 'Show Cookies' button and look for all the 'apple' entries in the left-hand column.
- Highlight them (select them collectively) and press 'Remove'
- Now open iTunes and buy the song as usual.
- You may be asked to do the same security process as before, so do as asked.
- Hopefully, the security check will now have accepted your answers and start downloading the song as normal.
Remember to re-tick all the required security options you had just un-ticked in Safari preferences. You don't need to bother about opening the cookies again.
I hope this has worked for you and my profoundest apologies if it has not. Worth a go, though!
I did see this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/18259935#18259935 which may be of more help, mainly the last entry by 'c2boyd'

I have problem with the security question which i forgot the answer how can i change it as i already have apple id and password
You may reset the password on your account by opening https://iforgot.apple.com/ in Safari and entering your Apple ID (your email address, which the moderators should have removed earlier).
You won't be able to set the password to your email address, or a recently-used password (if I remember correctly).
Once you change your password, you should update your password on your iOS device in Settings > iTunes & App Store, then tapping the "Apple ID: <username>" cell at the top to re-enter your password. (Your iOS device may prompt you for the new password before getting to Settings as well.)
Hope that helps. If you have a different issue, please post a follow-up message. -
am having trouble for the first time trying to redeem a gift card. Everything same on computer, OS, and internet connection. have been able to redeem other cards. this time am getting "SESSION HAS TIMED OUT" while trying to redeem card. have contacted apple and checked out all their suggestion iE:( must be your connection. typed in code wrong, too old version of itunes, etc) anything but why would a gift card code bee tied to a specific vetrsion of ITUNES. Rediculous!! there has to be others out there that have an older version if itune than i have. has anyone ever had the error "SESSION HAS TIMED OUT" and if so was it corrected?? any information other than apples {change password and give us lots of personal info they probably have) would be appreciated..
Hello,
As far as I can see, that Verizon Jet Pack wireless Modem uses WPA2 to connect.
The Router might complicate things right now.

I am trying to download and album off ITUNES but when I get to the billing site and attempt to purchase it, it gives me a message saying "Your Session has timed out." It gives me no other option that to try again and I just keep getting the same results. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do?
Hi, Kenny.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
There are a couple things that I would recommend trying. Try closing all open applications and power cycle the device. Next, go through the section labeled Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in the second article below. If the issue persists, try completely signing out of the iTunes Store on the iOS device and sign back in. Be sure to test downloading an application after each step.

I have an itunes account on my PC and have downloaded Kindle and iBook with no problem, but when I try and use that acct id on my iPad the system says I cannot access the store. However, when I try to create a new id the system comes up and tells me that I am from Canada, which is always nice to know in case I ever forget, and when I acknowledge that screen, it immediately tells me the session has timed out. What am I doing wrong? Willingly admit I am not at all knowledgable in the Apple world. Thanks for any help you can give..

When I've had a similar problem, it was because I was accessing the iTunes store from a device I hadn't used before, such as when I upgraded from an iPad 1 to the iPad 2. It was a little confusing to me until I figured it out.
All I had to do was use the ID of my existing account and play along with the iTunes store. As I recall, it asked for my password twice, and the security code from the back of my credit card. After that, downloads proceeded as before.

Tried purchasing music from the iTunes Store. When the window popped up I put in my apple id and password. Then I was directed to a 'Terms and Conditions' page. I checked the box next to the 'Yes I agree to these terms and conditions' - then clicked the 'accept' button next page read 'Your Session has timed out. Try again.' with a 'Done' button to click on. Oh the same thing happens when i try to download free iTunes. Yes I have tried & tried it again I even logged off and singed back in-- no joy
After accessing my iTunes account I was not able to change anything like my credit card number when I tried and was sent right to the 'Your session has timed out. Try again.'
The last time I purchased any anything was on September 25th 2011 and the 'terms & conditions' page was last updated on October 12, 2011
Does anyone have an idea to what is going on with my iTunes version 9.2.1 (5) and I can not upgrade to a higher version my iMac does not have the intel processor chip.Thank you for your time and help with this matter. You are greatly appreciatedI am having the same problem also! I posted on here about it, but no one has responded with ideas. I called technical support and e-mailed them, the only suggestions they gave was for the to turn off my firewall. But I didn't change anything, so it shouldn't suddenly stop working. Maybe this is just an iTunes issue? But it doesn't even recognize my account anymore, and I cannot log in now.
If you happen to get an answer, will you please let me know what works for you?
Thanks! -
