Can you find the external audio with Finder?
Where is your destination file when you import it?

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

What format is your problem clip? Are there wave forms visible in the section without sound?
Right click on the clip in the event broswer and choose Reveal in Finder; open the clip in Quick Time to confirm that there is sound throughout at that stage of your workflow.

"Final Cut Pro Trial.app" can't be opened because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed.

Downloaded the FCP trial version from the Apple FCP site several times and still get the following error.
“Final Cut Pro Trial.app” can’t be opened because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed.
Safari downloaded this file today at 1:34 AM from www.apple.com.
Strange that Apple can't verify it's self.

To get around that, go to system preferences>security & privacy>allow apps loaded from anywhere. Then set it back to whatever you wish after you finish the download.

Final Cut Pro X version 10.0.5 – How to Create Storyline with audio-only clips. I'm following exercises in Diana Weynand's Pro Training Series, and this function is greyed out. Trying to create crossfade transition. New Compound Clip can be activated however.

Chapter 7. Page 269. Exploring Audio Transitions. Selecting two audio clips, then control-clicking the clips. The dropdown menu to Create Storyline or (Command G) is greyed out. The function no longer seems to be available. I've found other functions that no longer apply with the latest version in relation to the book, and I assume that this is another one. But I'm trying to follow the book the best I can. I know there's a workaround. I can simply select an edit point and add the cross dissolve (Command T), but I wonder if this accomplishes the requested exercise from the book.

Final cut pro 6 not able to find movie during launch

everytime i launch final cut pro 6 it comes up with a message telling me a 'movie file cannot be found' and that 'without this file the movie cannot play properly'
the file is there, it has not been renamed
this happens no matter what project i try and open, even if i just click on the final cut icon in the dock
i've deleted the pref and the obj caches
still no luck - any ideas?!?

Usually you get that kind of error if the file is one you exported not as "self contained", if it is a file that you sent to Motion or STP and some render data was lost, or if the file FCP is trying to reconnect has the same name of the file you captured but not the same data (e.g. no reel name or different reel name, no or different timecode etc...)
Try fcp rescue (http://fcprescue.andersholck.com/) or just recapture your file...

Using the final cut pro trial, i can't export?

i downloaded the final cut pro trial a while ago, not activating until recently. i guess before i activated it, after downloading, i had to get switch my glitchy macbook for a new identical one. i don't know if this is the problem, but it could be. i am making a movie in the trial version, and under commands, export is not clickable. so, i used the share option, and tried to share it as a master file... then to an apple product... then tried to share to youtube. all result with the same thing. it'll act as if it's working, but after maybe 30 seconds a little message saying "Share Failed." when i click on details, all it says is "The operation could not be completed because an error occurred when creating frame 1543 (error -1)." I don't know what that means. Does it mean one of my clips is the glitch? I have no idea what the problem is here. Are you even allowed to export using the trial version anyway? I haven't been able to get a straight answer there either. Thanks!

As Bobbyyco said, you should definitely be able to share from the trial version.
In Preferences>General>Time Display, you can change the to Frames, which makes it easier to locte the slip that includes the frame in the error message.
You could then use a replace edit to substitute something ales in its place. Then use the range tool to select a short section that includes the replaced clip and export as a master file.
If it works, your project should export. (Transcode a new version of the clip by right clicking and use that as the permanent substitute clip.
If it doesn't work, turn off background rendering in Preferences. Select your project and from the File menu, choose Delete Project Render FIles. When prompted choose All Files. Do another test export as a master file without rendering.

Just installed Final Cut HD 4.5 - Can't find my camera connection

My home page is google and it works but when I open a new tab it displays an error message :Firefox can't find the file at chrome://quick_start/content/index.ht

I've made sure a dozen times that my home page is set correctly, and when I hit the home button next to the search bar it works and takes me right to google BUT whenever i open a new tab i get the error that my page cannot load and the web url that it keeps trying to remember is in the error message:
Firefox can't find the file at chrome://quick_start/content/index.html.
of course the last dot is not the url anymore but the end of the sentence for the error message, but i don't ever use chrome ever on my laptop only my cell so what is going on????? help fix god please!!!!!!

Do you have the FastStart extension?

Final Cut Pro X keeps crashing after trying to import .mov files

I don't know if I have an corrupted .mov file that is making it mess up, or if final cut just cannot handle the movie type. I also tried to import .MTS files into final cut, that may have affected something. Please help!

So there is a single file that you think causes others not to import? .mov covers a lot of possibilities. Where did these clips come from?

How can i fix final cut pro freezing every single time i try to delete files?

so i was in the middle of editing a video which contained a lot of stuff in the video (i was making a lyric video) and in the middle of it, it freezes. so i waited but it wouldnt go back to normal after like, 3 hours. i asked my friend who also uses Final Cut, and he told me to delete some of my projects and events so it wont run as slow. i finished deleting the events, but whenever i try to delete some of the projects it will go back to freezing and wont get back to being normal.he also said to update it but i cant cuz i dont have the right version of the iMac or something to update it. can someone help me?!?!?!

Servlet can not find classes in ear file, only in system classpath.

          My servlet "DataServlet" is included in ear/war file.
          When I try to reach it:
          http://www.mysite.com/DataServlet
          Servlet starts execute doPost() and throw Exception ClassNotFound.
          All classes inculuded in ear files and all jsp working fine.
          It works like standalone servlet and not as part of web application.
          Maybe, there is problem in context root?

Is the ClassNotFoundException on the DataServlet class, or a class the DataServlet class is trying to use?
          Did you try <http://www.mysite.com/data/DataServlet>?
          I would recommend you always define your classes in packages, as opposed to the default package, which you appear to be using. You'll run into problems down the line if you use the default package.

Can't get Googleplay to work. Only get one bar in a 4-G area (per Verizon detailed map).

I am sitting outside in a 4-G area with only one bar of reception. Per the Verizonwireless's detail 4-G map, I should be getting 4-G access, yet Googleplay and several other apps just give me the little circling icon for hours, even when connected via my Wi-Fi network. I have to use a bluetooth cordless phone so I can set our phones near a particular window for the best possible reception.
Should Googleplay be able to work through the Wi-Fi network? It is showing up as connected with good signal.

I have not disabled any applications, I have accepted the terms of the Google Play Store before. I have successfully downloaded many apps from the store, but now all I get is the spinning circle. I have let it spin for over an hour.

Final Cut Pro difficulty exporting QuickTime movie out to external drive

Hi every one I hope some one can help me figure out why whenever I export a Quicktime movie and save it on an external LaCie drive, two files come out with the same name but one has an -av1 extension. And if I delete that file the original movie doesn't play.
Any one has any idea???

Your external drive is probably formatted as MS-DOS. It has a file size limit of either 2Gb if formatted as FAT16 or 4GB if formatted as FAT32.
In either case, reformat the drive to Mac OS Extended. You will lose any material on the drive in the reformat process unless you copy it to another drive.
