When i came home i called apple to check whether my phone is locked or not and they said that its locked to US Verizon even though when i checked on iphoneimei it said sim status unknown. I put my 2degrees (NZ carrier) in today and it worked fine. I got into the settings and turned off the automatically part of carrier and there were 3 options for me to choose 2degrees vodafone and telecom. Because of that, im quite confused abt whether my phone is locked or not since im from vietnam so i want to know if i can use vietnamese sim card when i go home. Thanks for your help@verizon
Hi tranvietanh - I appreciate you contacting us all the way from New Zealand! I can confirm that the iPhone 5s and all of our other 4G LTE device are not SIM locked. As the carrier in New Zealand may not support the exact same frequencies and cellular bands that we use on our network, we are unable to support the device if using a 3rd party SIM.

Yes. You can't update or restore any GSM iPhone without a valid sim card installed in the phone. The sim card need not be activated, but it must be valid & present. If you want to update, you need to get a sim card. -

try general>settings>reset>reset all settings and start up as an new phone.

I went to two different apple stores and both people looked at it and they said that my phone definitely had major hardware issues and that the dock was broken and that the headphone jack was broken but they said that I was out of warranty so I would have to pay around $200 for a replacement or an upgrade. But I really don't want to go that because I am waiting for the newest iPhone to come out because my contract is up in November. The guy in the 1st store was surprisingly rude to me.

I have a iPod touch 8GB 5.0.1 and my contacs my app store Are not on the home screen and my contacs .
So I go to restrictions and they say that they are ON so I reboot my iPod and he still the same thing.
So I restore my iPod from iTunes and iTunes say that this iPod cannot be restore and I do that on a MacBook pro and I do the second time on windows computer.
So I need help , I don't know what to do .
Thank you .The app, if not restricted, may be hidden in your folders. If you go to settings, general, reset, reset home screen layout, you can rule that out.
Does your restore give you a specific error? If so, see http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694 and http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275
You can also restore from your iPod, by going to settings, general, reset, reset all content and settings, but make sure that you have created a backup beforehand.

Nothing we can do to help you. If it was bought in the UK from an Apple store as unlocked, it is unlocked. If it was bought anywhere else, it will be locked, and only the carrier it is locked to will be able to unlock it.
If you've tried a local SIM and it has not worked, then you have your answer, it is locked. -
Since i upgraded from an iphone 4 to a 5 my messages aren't being sent as imessages. I went into Optus and he said that all of the features are on and it should be sending imessages. He suggested i contact Apple..

O.k. I can recieve and send AOL on my HP just fine. BUT on my 4S, Ipad and IMAC, no go. Cannot recieve AOL messages or send out to AOL members. Itouch without an ios5 update works fine. It has to be Ios5 problem. Genius could not help but said look out for update. This after 45 minutes at the Apple store. If any of you can help, I'd be forever grateful....

Your carrier is wrong. I know for a fact, because we've had iphone user who have gone abroad and went over their limit, and AT&T disable their service. When they returned to the state, I had to reactivate their serivce for them.

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start
with Option #4 and then #1 as needed.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I have been online banking with TD Bank for years now and have never had a problem getting into the log in. About a week ago when I would click on the log in button, nothing would happen however I can get into every other link on that site. I contacted TD Bank and they said that my account was fine and I was not locked out and there were no security issues. I then called Time Warner and they checked my service and said nothing was wrong with my service and that it sounded like it was from my server since I was going through Firefox, I should call you guys and see if it is the problem.

OrangeThis is no different with any carrier locked phone. Getting a carrier locked phone officially unlocked is the responsibility of the carrier, not the cell phone manufacturer. A cell phone manufacture cannot unlock a carrier locked phone without the carrier's authorization.
An iPhone sold as officially unlocked when new can be used by others as a second hand phone, and the same with any carrier locked iPhone that can be unlocked by the carrier, and many carriers offer it.
