i try to down low snow leopaard what shoul i do . im gettin a kernel message ?
Snow Leopard is not available as a download. You need the retail install disc; http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOA.
Once you've installed that (10.6.3) you can download the update to take you to 10.6.8; http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399

My mac book pro crashed and the logic board died. They said that i could get the hard drive out and it should have all my files on it. How do i get them off and put them on my new computer?

Do you mean a case for the external hard drive? See here. Hope this may be helpful to you.

My mac air says hard drive full and 90% is full of 'other' which I cant work out what 'other' is as i Have transferred most to my external hard drive.
Do you know how I can tell how large each file is taking up and what my 'other' category could be?
thanksInitial easy steps to gain disk space:
- Delete all files in the Downloads folder.
Empty the Trash.
- Start iPhoto.
Empty its trash.
Restart.
Backup:
Run a Time Machine (or other) backup since you are about to delete and move files and you may need to recover from any inadvertent mistakes or decisions. You will need one external hard drive for your Time Machine (or other) backup and a second if you plan to offload some files. (See suggestions for where to purchase hard drives at the end of this message.)

Deleting files:
Then use the free application OmniDiskSweeper http://www.omnigroup.com/more to explore your volume in descending order by size so you can attack the problem from the top down, deleting the largest unwanted files first. Delete with caution and do not delete any system files. Remember to empty the trash after trashing the files.
Additional reference on freeing disk space:
http://pondini.org/OSX/DiskSpace.html
Offloading files:
Consider moving some of the no-often-used large files or directories to an external disk. Use ODS again to find them. This will be at least your second hard drive. Your first one(s) is/are for your Time Machine (or other) backup(s). Do not offload files onto a Time Machine disk.
Format the second drive as Mac OS Extended (journaled). Using OWS to find large files/folders and copy them from the system drive to the external hard drive and delete them from your internal drive.
Then > System Preferences > Time Machine > Options… > Remove the offload HD name from the exclusions list.
Now both your system disk and your external offload disk will be backed up onto your Time Machine disk.

i get an empty 'downloads' box when i click on 'download' to get incoming email attachments -- and people to whom i send email attachments get blanks with some sort of template message when they try to download them.
Go to Options in Firefox...click on options...click on the privacy tab...Check the box that says "Remember downloads history" ....and that should fix it.

How can I get my hard drive up and running on my hp g62 notebook pc
My hp g62 notebook pc just stop working one day. I had not used it for a while, when I started it up one day it was running slow then it stated hard drive was unavailable. Have I lost all my stuff? How can I fix?
Hi,
It may well be that the Hard Drive has failed, so try running the foolowing test.
Shut down the notebook. Tap away at f10 as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu. Under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run a test on the Hard Drive. Post back with the details of any error messages.

My iphone was restored and i tried to back it up, but instead of getting all of my information i got my mother's instead. I dont know if i should try to reset my phone again because im worried that my mother will lose all of her data too??
Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If nothiing above helped, restore the iPhone to factory settings > Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings -
Hello,
I am upgrading my wireless router from an Airport Express to an Airport Extreme. After disconnecting the Express and plugging the Extreme via ethernet cable to the modem, I am receiving a flashing amber light after connecting the power source. I also reset the modem while the Extreme was still powered and plugged into the modem, but no luck. I also tried resetting the modem and the Extreme and still no resolution. Please advise. Thank you! This error usually occurs when the Windows Firewall and/or anti-virus software blocks the connection attempt from the PC to the AirPort Extreme.
Microsoft Security Essentials can do the same thing.
Things would be much easier if you had a Mac or iPhone or iPad to set up the AirPort Extreme. Otherwise try turning off the Windows Firewall and Anti-Virus programs, etc on the PC.
Restart the PC, then see if the PC can contact the AiPort Extreme. It will likely help to connect an Ethernet cable from the PC to one of the LAN <-> ports on the AirPort Extreme. You can disconnect the Ethernet cable once the AirPort Extreme has been configured.
Re-enable the Windows Firewall, Anti-Virus, etc and restart the PC. -
I'd like to download Yosemite. I am using Snow Leopard. Do I have to download the next OS X in order, or can I go straight to Yosemite, and if so, how do I go about it?
If the computer has a recovery partition, press the Command and R keys at startup and use it to download Yosemite. If not, open the Mac App Store, log in with your Apple ID, click on the Purchases tab, and redownload Yosemite from there.
Both of these are free.

Hello - I just had to replace the hard drive on my pc, and now my Outlook calendar and contacts won't sync to my iphone 5s. I ended up getting two hard drives (C and G), so I'm afraid that might have something to do with it - although I'm pretty sure Outlook files still live in the normal place on C. Itunes sync acts as if it's working, but nothing changes on my phone. Any ideas? Thanks!!
"2MEM/1/4: DIMM3/J14"
Replace the memory in the DIMM 3 slot.
If you are running Mac OS X 10.5 you can use this program to test your G5's memory:
http://www.kelleycomputing.net/Rember/
It will subject your RAM to a more thorough test than Apple Hardware Test. -
My PC hard drive died and I have replaced it. Need to import the music on my classic iPod, but get a message that it's synced with another library (old hard drive). How do I import the music onto the new hard drive? Senuti (one respondent's suggestion) is just for macs. I have no old hard drive to copy to the new hard drive (another respondent's suggestion.)
See this older thread from another forum member Zevoneer on different ways to copy music from your iPod back to your PC.

All my content is still on my iPod classic but my external HDD quit and is not accessible. I am wondering if I can put some of my content onto my PC(my iPod has more storage than my PC hahaha pretty bad) This is the PC I used with iTunes with so I don't think licensing is an issue- But can I upload back to my PC without iTunes wiping clean my iPod because there is no more content on PC/HDD? I know I may need to send my HDD away to to a Data Recovery Specialist. But if I can save a couple hundred bucks to couple thousand bucks I would prefer this method... mostly worried about photos- can't download these again. Next time I will buy a second back up.

inMy iPod is ok, but my external hard drive crashed and that's where all my stuff was. It is still also on my iPod. My question is, Can I plug my iPod into my PC and put everything back onto my PC's hard drive? This iPod and PC are synced together already. I am worried when I plug my iPod back into my PC, itunes will erase everything on it because it's not in my PC but in my crashed external HDD that I can't access.
You'll need to get yourself a new drive big enough to hold all the data you are going to recover and then reading the tip B-rock has pointed you to. Read it carefully, it should guide you through the steps to recover as much as possible. You are wise to be worried, just plugging in the iPod and clicking sync isn't good enough but it should be possible to recover to most if not all of it.
