Hi! My hard drive crashed on my lap top a few months ago, and they weren't able to retrieve my itunes. I have my ipod, but am afraid to connect it to the computer and lose everything on it. How do I reinstall itunes and download everything back?
Hi! My hard drive crashed on my lap top a few months ago, and they were not able to resore my itunes. Does anyone know how to reconnect the ipod to itunes to restore the library without losing what's already on the ipod?

philips freevents Windows XPIf your iPod is set to update automatically you just need to take care when connecting back to your computer and an empty iTunes. If it is set to automatically update you will get a message that your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press *No*. Pressing "Yes" will irretrievably remove all songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it.
You can also use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys (on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘) keys). This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. Then go to Preferences>iPod and check the "Manually manage songs and playlists" box: Managing Your Songs Manually
There is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs but not playlists back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward.

Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up in case you have problems again. External drives are quite cheap these days and you can get loads of storage for quite a small outlay. -

i had iweb on my last computer - bought a new 2013 macbook pro a few months ago and it's gone. I have a webpage I build on it and now I need to get back in to update it. Help.
Well of course you won't have iWeb on a new MacBook from this year. iWeb has not shipped on new Macs for a long time now and Apple has not sold iLife through its stores or online for over a year and does not support iWeb any longer.
If you want iWeb now, you will either need to purchase a new copy of iLife or try and find the old install discs from your old Mac and re-install iWeb from that disc. It also depends on what iWeb version you were using too - iWeb 08 or 09? If 08, then this is not compatible with Mavericks which will be running on a new Mac, so you'll need iWeb 09 for this. If you can find your old install discs and they are iWeb 09 then go ahead and use these, but if not, you will have to purchase the iLife 09 or 11 boxed set from Amazon and both of these contain iWeb 09 and you can then install it.
Also, when you set up your new Mac, did you migrate info over? If you had built a website on your old Mac, then you need to data file where all iWeb info is stored and that is called your domain.sites file and you need this file to be transferred if you want your website back again.
Can you get access to thhis file on your old Mac and transfer it? If you can then fine, you can access your website again, but if not, you are out of luck and you'll have to re-build your website from scratch using iWeb.
If you don't have iWeb, then now might be a good time to move forward and look at the many alternatives that are out there such as RapidWeaver, Sandvox, and EverWeb which is billed as an iWeb replacement and is very much like iWeb, but with SEO and the ability to create drop down menus built in (check out http://www.everwebapp.com). Other alternatives also include Flux 4, Freeway Pro and Express and WebAcapella 4.

If I were you I would first make sure CS6 was deactivated or signed-out. Then download Adobe's cleaner and remove cc, CS6 and any other creative application installed including Creative Cloud desktop application. Then install CS6 and use your CS6 serial number during the install to activate CS6 standard or extended which ever the serial number is for. CS6 Version 13.0 should the be activated. That level of CS6 is extremely bug ridden so be sure to the use CS6 menu Help>Updates to get CS6 updates. Windows should update to version 13.0.1.3 Mac to version 13.0.6. Not Subscription CS6 version 13.1.2...

I installed Mavericks a few days ago and downloaded all the available updates, which installed correctly (or so it says). Now I can't open my iPhoto app because it says it's being updated. Any suggestions?
There are two ways to recover from this condition.
1. Select
Store ▹ View My Account
from the App Store menu bar, then select View hidden purchases. Stop or resume the download.
2. Open LaunchPad and find the icon of the app you're trying to install. There will be a small progress bar below it. Click the "X" to stop the download. -

Thanks for this post. It corrected my similar issue. Note that you need to exit from/re-enter iTunes after deleting the song from your Purchased list.

My iPod was stolen a long a few months ago and I've given up all hope in finding it. I have never purchased item on iTunes, and I think the iCloud might have been deleted. It doesn't show up in "My products" too and I tried Find My iPhone.
No. Apple won't do anything without a court order. Since it wasn't upgraded to iOS 7 before it was stolen then there's nothing you can do. You could file a police report with your serial number but there may be a small chance.

Have an iphone 5c 8g. The home button has stopped working. Did the same a few months ago and recovered 24hrs later. Can anyone explain this problem. Phone still in warranty. Had steam issue recently but this was after last home button episode and no evidence of damage.
If you are playing in hockey arenas a lot or if you are bringing it into bathroom same time as shower it may not seem like much but overtime the steam can acquire and build up in the phones usb dock flex cable swell as the home button flex cable. Bring again into apple store and should be covered under warranty again. could also be a delay in a 8gb 5c software may just be very lag.

I got a mac a few months ago and a few weeks ago I began to get mackeeper ads popping up in a different screen. Now it s getting worse and happening almost every time I click on something, and there s even more variety of what websites pop up. Now I have pop ups on the actual website I m on and they pop up every time I click something. It s really obnoxious and I hate it. How can I get rid of this....? The sync is one way - computer to ipod. The exception is itunes purchases: File>Transfer Purchases
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy to put everything back.
