Have you tried your country's online Apple Store? Snow Leopard is still available on mine, here in the UK. Otherwise, your best chance is eBay. You might also try CeX.

You need not upgrade unless there is something you do that cannot be done unless you upgrade. Upgrading OS X doesn't mess up anyone's computer. Users mess up their computers.
Your model has 2 GBs of RAM which is adequate for Snow Leopard although 4 GBs would be better. Upgrading to Snow Leopard will cost $29.00. You can order from Apple's Online Store. Here's a good procedure to follow:
How to Install OS X Updates Successfully
A. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
Boot from your current OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Then select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
B. Make a Bootable Backup Using Restore Option of Disk Utility:
Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
C. Important: Please read before installing:
If you have a FireWire hard drive connected, disconnect it before installing the update unless you will boot from this drive and install the update on it. Reconnect it and turn it back on after installation is complete and you've restarted.
You may experience unexpected results if you have installed third-party system software modifications, or if you have modified the operating system through other means. (This does not apply to normal application software installation.)
The installation process should not be interrupted. If a power outage or other interruption occurs during installation, use the standalone installer (see below) from Apple Downloads to update. While the installation is in progress do not use the computer.
D. To upgrade:
Purchase the Snow Leopard Retail DVD.
Boot From The OS X Installer Disc:
Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
Restart the computer.
Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
Wait for installer to finish loading.
E. If updating:
Download and install update(s)
Use Software Update, or
Download standalone updater(s).

You have entirely too little free space on the boot drive, for best performance it's best to have hard drives only 50% filled max and never more than 80% filled.

Word 2004 is almost 10 years old, you will not be able to upgrade beyond Snow Leopard with it. IMHO you have gotten your money's worth out of the application and need to upgrade to Office for Mac 2011, this will work just fine and read your old files just fine too. What will not run beyond SL are all PowerPC (PPC) apps such as Word 2004. You will need to update, upgrade or replace any PPC based apps you want to use. I would recommend taking a little time and check for updates to each of your apps. Then open System Profiler (Applications - Utilities - System Profiler) click the Applications link on the left and then look for any PPC based apps, those are the ones that will not run. You can upgrade to SL just fine with the apps you currently have however if you want to go beyond SL (it's already 2 generations behind) you will need to update or upgrade your apps. You can take your time doing it but eventually you're going to have to begin

Apple's rules for their app store do not allow programs such as Firefox to be run on their iOS devices. We do have a tool to allow access to your Firefox Sync bookmarks and history on your iOS device.

2.with raw you have to specify the exact size of the file at creation time, in contrast with file system, where you can create file without specifying its size, start writing to it, apending new blocks to it until you are done, and thus creating a file of whatever size it needs to be to hold all information.

Hey apple, why don't you just fix your email forwarding?

There is a lot of problems described in this comunity about icloud email forwarding.
Personally I, spent a lot of time to make this fa***g email forwarding work. But it doesn't work.
I started yesterday, but only today morning I got an email from apple that it is enabled. But it doesn't work.
If it is not work properly - just disable it and people won't spend a lot time wondering it is work or not.
Also, I have tried to setup google POP3 "Check mail from other accounts" , but icloud mail doesn't support POP3 protocol.
So, apple, why don't you just fix your email forwarding? or disable it forever?

2. There is no contact email for Firefox, just as there is no contact email for most free and open source software projects. We would be flooded with hundereds of emails a minute and don't have the resources to handle that. That is why we have this support site to help those users who need support. This way the community can help with support as well :)

MAC addresses for network hardware are encoded into the network interfaces. To change them requires spoofing of the address, something not officially supported by Apple (or any manufacturer I know of) and hence would be beyond the sort of support any Apple Store employee could or would provide, or is it something that Apple would providing training to the dealers in how to accomplish.
As to distribution of Apple products, Apple has information on their channel programs on this web page:

I have copied/pasted my original text and suspect will be forced to make it public in mozillaZine or... this limit is extremely annoying! First of all... some search engine? searchqu.com took over Firefox 4.0 and I.E.... after reading in mozillaZine that uninstalling/re-installing FF didn't work, I tried various ideas that were reported to work... none did for me! So I downloaded and installed Google Chrome. Its search engine had been compromised by searchqu.com as well but I was able to set it back to Google.com! Then I discovered that Google Chrome downloaded files 6 times faster than did FF 4.0, FF 3.6 or I.E. 8. So I am going to stick with GC. However, if someone can tell me how to get FF downloading at 15 Mbps like GC... I will be back... it is difficult to leave FF after Netscape>Firebird>Firefox! The upload rate is indeed cut in half... but that will just keep FF installed and used on occasion. I am truly hoping to get a solution to my speed problem... it is indeed a problem only on my computer and my netbook... the speed thing is fine on my wife's computer! ??? This is the only way I could find of informing someone about this weird problem without making it public! But as all can see, I had to go public! :o) By the way... uninstalling Firefox including all data then installing it worked for me! That damn searchqu.com is gone... at least has been for a few hours now!

Apple seems to have been gradually replacing flags with alphabetic symbols wherever possible. Chinese and Japanese have been this way for quite a long time, and in Yosemite I count 30 keyboards (including Greek), nearly half the total, without the flag.
The easiest way to get the Greek flag back would be to download the app Ukelele, which includes copies of the Greek keyboard and the old flag icon, which you can install and use instead of Apple's.

I'm a professional digital artist-illustrator for about 7 years now. using photoshop since early years of my career. CS2, CS4, CS5.. on more than several mashines, top line HP workstations and EliteBook.
and one thing that bothers me and most of my colleagues is the quality of the brush strokes that PS provides.
why don't you improve em for christsake?!?
I must admit, this is a software issue, not mashine. neither the resolution, some options or tablet series has anything to do with this.. and it's especially visible on thicker strokes.
we work on intuos3, intuos4, intuos5, apple, win and whatnot. ant it's most obvious that the brush lines are as ugly as hell in this program entirely through all series.
when it comes to non-vector lineart, thats' basically why most of the artists/designers go for other progams, such as paint tool sai, sketchbook pro, manga studio and etc, and do the effects/coloring only in PS.
here's an ex. how the brush lines end. + if you work slower/move your pen more precise they go even worse!
I won't go further, like talking about the LAG with mixer brtushes and etc. most of the CG forums and communities are allready full of those discussions. you cannot even compete on this issue with other products.
that might be also a solution to rise your sales around the globe. cos now - why to buy a <1200$ worth PS program in europe when you'll probably end up mainly using paint tool sai or sketchbook pro for around 90$ and go for GIMP (free software) for effects.

I can understand a certain level of frustration, PAUZAK, but really? Are you a part of the same universe I'm in?

I was only commenting on the points made in the thread YOU linked to. Apparently at least some people see the shoelace thing in the Wacom control panel. Given that evidence, which I doubt was manufactured, your pretense seems to need questioning. I suppose it's possible (actually, a certainty) that some products send different commands to the drivers than others, and that the drivers are doing things wrong only under some conditions. That's why I asked whether the Smoothing setting affected your setup.

I'm having no problems replying, or editing using any of the major browsers, including Firefox. I can't edit posts on an iPhone or iPad (not allowed to even try), but if you're using an actual computer and you can't even make the forum work, you have problems on your system.

Some operations in Photoshop are complex and when done with big brushes and all kinds of stuff (fuzzy edges, mixing, etc.) turned on they slow down, but with reasonable sized brushes I've been able to paint stuff, and I certainly don't have the world's fastest computer by today's standards. And even so, I'm not sure that's a situation where it's not working right per se... Maybe just one where a better computer is needed to paint with really big brushes and all the fancy stuff turned on. That *could* be a better computer than any invented yet, but that's okay - see next year's lineup...
