Hide "Filters" & "Settings" in a Web template 0ANALYSIS_PATTREN

In 0ANALYSIS_PATTREN template on far right hand side i have 2 options "Filters" & "Settings" as per my requirment i created BUTTONS to replace those 2
Now how can i hide "Filters" & "Settings" on far right hand side....i just want to hide them from display not to delete them as i used their functionality in Buttons

can u make me a bit clear about your requirement.
What i understood is you want to hide "Filters" & "Settings" when you click on the buttons which you created or do u want to hide them by default and need to show when u click on the corresponding button??
Or
If u just want to hide these two by default then,
select both the items "Filters" & "Settings" and in the properties section
go to web item properties tab
and change the property "VISIBILITY" to "HIDDEN".

Query Variable: F4 search by Text is case sensitive in Web Templates.

Hello Guru's,
I have a problem, when I am trying to search the variables in Web Templates the search by text is case sensitive.
For example If I have the customer name as "King", I have to search the text as King or Ki*, But If I search as king I will not get any results.
I need to have my text search as case insensitive.
When I checked in my BEx queries the search is case insensitive. I have the problem in my Web Templates only. Please let me know do I need to change any variable settings ing the web templates or let me know how do I fix this issue.

Hi,
So the only workaround for this would be to goto RSD1 -> enter info
-object as xxxx, and press maintain, then goto master data/text
tab and select the check box, 'with text', now save and activate the
infoobject. After this regenerate the query using tcode rsrt.
To regenerate goto rsrt enter query name and press 'generate report'
button.
Now the F4 help screen should show the options search by key and search
by text. So that you can select serach by key to have a case insensitive
search.

Web Template (0ANALYSIS_Pattern) Drill down error

Hi,
Currently i am working on BI7.0 default web template (0ANALYSIS_PATTREN)
When i drilldown on a Freechar i am displayed with
Result set too large (1016010 cells); data retrieval restricted by configuration (maximum = 500000 cells)
Please update how to proceed
When i perform same action on 3X template results are displayed correctly

Hi,
You can change the allowed size of cells by doing the following:
se38-> SAP_RSADMIN_MAINTAIN and give object= BICS_DA_RESULT_SET_LIMIT_MAX.
Chnage the value to the number of rows you wish to displa, say 1200000 in your case.
There will be performace implications in allowing this as the report will take longer to run.

Issue with filtering values in Web Template

I am facing a problem with filtering values in Web Template.
I have two queries based on two different data providers. One query is getting data from an Info set and the other from a Remote Cube. I have a single navigational block to filter values for both these queries but the change gets reflected only on the variable of one query. The other reflects no change and shows all the values irrespective of the filter condition.
I have tried the option of setting in the properties of the navigational block, affected data providers as both your data providers.But no effect.
Can a single navigational block be used to filter values on 2 queries which are built on different data providers? If yes, can someone please tell me how it is possible?
Kindly let me know how can I make the changes appear in both the queries?I am using SAP BI 3.5.

JavaScript in a Web template to hide or show a button

Hi all,
i got this task:
i created a web template (Button Panel) with many buttons, behind each button there is another web template with its query, this second web template has a button to get back to the panel button,now, the user asked me the task of, when a user start from the panel button to another reports, show the button to return to the panel button,
if the user start the second report from a link of the portal for example (this time the user doesnt start from the panel button) , the button to return to the panel button must be hide.
i was studing this case, and the form is trough Cookies, for example:
if i start from the panel button, it must create a cookie A for example, when i click in some button, this other report must be read the cookie , if this is A , show the button to return to the panel, if not, so hide the button,
soem of you have create something like this? some advices? another way? please help

URGENT!! Reporting Agent Web Template not filtering data on dataproviders

I am having problems with Reporting Agent web template settings. I have a query that uses a pre-query for MANAGER. I also have a query view for this query (I also tried using just the query in the web template). I created a reporting agent setting on the web template and used the pre-query as the control query. I have 80 MANAGER's, so I expect 80 dataproviders with each dataprovider having the data for 1 MANAGER. I get the 80 dataproviders, but each dataprovider has data for all 80 MANAGERs.
The dataproviders are then emailed using an ABAP program.
I would use Information Broadcaster, but the managers are not necessarily BW users and the manager list is fluent, so I don't want to create a separate setting for each manager.
We are on BW 3.5 SP18.

Filters Query and Web Template

Many reports use filters in both the query and the web template. What

the filter used in query and web templates are same
there is no difference between filters used.
as webtemplate uses the same query as its data provider so it is going to run the same filters.
for e.g. if u have query x then if there are filters in it .
if u have webtemplate y , and u have to assign a data provider to webtemplate which is nothing but query itself....
so if u run webtemplate u will at the end execute query x only...
now wat is filter.
filter means it will filter out that data.
for e.g. if u created a variable for calendar month and u restrict it so that user can enter the calendar month value range when they execute query x....
then if u execute query x
then upon its execution the variable will pop u p and it will ask u to enter range of calendar months
lets say u enter 1/2007-12/2007
so u r query executes and it will only bring data for year 2007.
now if u wish to see the data of 2006 and try to restrict it in Context menu or Restric screen, then it will display as NO DATA.
this means it will filter the data for particular year.
so if u wish to see the data for all years
then dont create variable and dont restrict Calendar month
Instead bring calendar month in Free characteristics
so later u can run the query for different years.

Filtering values of a query in a web template through URL. Help please!

I've designed some web templates based on 3.x queries and I'm facing a problem trying to filter the values the users can see, though URL.
I know how to filter a value of a characteristic in the URL, for example:
http://.../SAP/BW/BEX?...&CMD=LDOC&TEMPLATE_ID="web_template_name"&FILTER_IOBJNM=0AREA&FILTER_Value=001
It shows the default values for the characteristics (Area=1), but it doesn't restrict the query to these values. The problem is that the user can choose another value of the characteristic, through the navigation_block for example (Area=2 or 3 or...).
What I need is to restrict the query in the URL with some values (Area=1 for example) so that the other areas don't appear in the query.
I've read some documents but I don't have the solution yet. For example:

Hi,
For your scenario you could use variables which are not changeable during runtime. Please refer to the following documentation. If you do not check the option 'Can Be Changed with Query Navigation' the variable will not be changeable during navigation.

If you want to restrict certain users to certain data please also consider the authorization concept, which is the safest way of doing this.

When i executed a query in 0ANALYSIS_PATTREN remplate on far right hand side i can see 2 option Filters & Settings like a url

In WAD, when I open this template, under the "view selection" web item ->Dataprovider, I see only one query/view assigned to it.
However, when I execute this template, under the "view selection", I have a list of view to select.
Why in WAD, I only see one view/query assign to it in the "view selection"?
Why when I execute the template, I see a list of view for selection under the "view selection"?
Please advise, thanks.

Web Templates with Tabs

Hi, We have quite a few reports we have developed for users that have around 5 or 6 tabs. When we adding or remove any functionality we have to maintain each of these reports. Does anyone else have/had this issue and what is a good strategy to move away from Web Templates with tabs?

to my knowldge, we don't have any option... we need to maintain every time.
I can think how complex it is...if you have 5 or 6 tabs... it 's very complex. Going forward... for small change.. like adding new tab etc... you need to be very careful.
On every call... try to reset to initial every time you call a tab... then try to pass values as per the requirement. ex: Title, Filters, settings, table etc.
Initial view we will disble every thing... we will one by one... with multiple commands...

How to build Information button in WAD, web template

Hello friends,
I am working in BI 7.0 WAD
well i designed a query in Bex and it is linked with portal , so if i run the query it shows the result in Portal
On portal while executing the query if i filter on some characteristics, then there is a button on Upper left named INFORMATION--- so if i click that it will give me the details, what extra filters i did , what extra restrictions i did.
I am now using the same query in WAD, in order to design a web template.
So please suggest how to create that Information tab in Web template.
I think i have to create a Button, than name it as Information,
But then selecting a Command, what Selection do i have to make
Which command selection i have to do and what settings I have to make.
Please suggest appropriate step by step approach as i am new and learning.
Also if you can tell how to use a specific Query in WAD to design a Web template.

In SPRO, i can see SAP REFERENCE IMG, IMG INFORMATION, PROJECT ANALYSIS, MANAGE WORKLIST ....
How shall i go to reporting section.
All reports are linked to portal so they execute equally on Portal with same setting.
So how shall i copy that web template/
If i copy the web template , how shall i remove everything else.
How shall i use that web template in My WAD.
How to save that Web template.
Do i have to do everything in Bi server, as i can use SPRO tcode only there.
If i create new template in WAD, how can i drag and drop the function as of default template.
How shall i set the property

Enhancements to the WEB Templete 0ANALYSIS_PATTREN

We are using 0ANALYSIS_PATTREN web templete for WEB Bex Analyzer.
User access queries using this templete.
I got couple of requirments that i need to enhance the WEB templete.
Please guide me how to proceed to achieve...
When user executes query and navigate in the report (Filters,drilldowns..etc) once he is done is chooses the option to 'Print' Button which export the Query/Report to PDF
My requirment is to include a Company Logo and the Current Date or Report generated date in the PDF...
Currently it is displaying only filter applied in the PDF
How can i achieve this

Hi Yolanda,
It has got to do installation of 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN from Business Content.
In Business Content -> Object Types -> BEx Web Template -> Select all templates starting with 0ANALYSIS and install them.
This is required to run the WAD templates correctly.

Performance of Web Templates Apps that are created in Web App Designer

I have created a Dashboard using Web App Designer in BI7 SPS 10.
The Web Template has 12 queries/DataProviders that are used for 12 charts. Buttons at the top control the view to show 4 Charts Each. When these buttons are selected, command sequences are executed that Hide and Show containers (each chart has its own container).
Also, there are 8 Dropdowns which are used to filter all 12 charts. These Dropdowns are using Posted Values because the requirement is to only show the values that actually exist in the InfoProvider.
When this template is run in Development where the data is minimal, it is taking 17 seconds to load the page. When running each query individually, it is taking each query between less than 1 second or at most 1.5 seconds. Also, the queries have been broadcasted to the OLAP Cache.
Other approaches that I have tried but have not changed the performance:
1. Created this template with Tabs and each template calls a template which contains 4 of the Charts (I believe this is called the Template in Template Approach.
2. Created 3 templates that each contain 4 of the Charts. The Command Sequence Change Template" is used to switch to another Template (e.g. from Monthly Trends to Top 10 and retain/pass the filters that are already selected in the Dropdowns. However all of the dataproviders are needed in each template in order to pass the filter values. Therefore, all 12 queries are executing when you load the main page.
I am looking for suggestions on what I could do differently to speed up the performance to get the Dashboard to respond within 10 seconds.

well, one of the things that I do remember, a solution that we provided for a similar scenario, but, not exactly the same. Another difference is that it was in BW 3.5.
We had few reports that was responding slow. There were reports that was viewed by both sr. managers as well by his team. Sr. Mgr looked only at the high level data while the team looked at the item level data in the same report. So, we provided two links in the same report. Initially it will come up with a static data. To get a detailed data, the user has to click the next link to view item level data.
Now, how this works is through Reporting Agent. The first static data was provided as a cache(pre-calculated) hence, faster. It comes in just 2 secs. But, when the user needs a item level data, he clicks the lik provided, only in which case, it fetches data from the infoprovider(hybrid mode).
We will need to schedule periodically, accordingly, to refresh the cache to provide faster data.
Iam really not sure how far this will help you, but, can spark something( I hope!).

Read mode - Web template Vs Characteristics

Hello,
I am using a web template in version 3.1. I have some navigation attributes. To try to enhance the display of filters value for some characteristics I changed in the web template the read mode from Q (posted values) to M (master data).
Unfortunately I see that the filter is still using read mode method Q. I have seen that this customizing exists also in RSA1 at the charcateristics level. If they are different, do you know which settings is used in the end ? Characteristics or web template ?

If you want to utilise the Broadcaster/Precalculation,then activate a Web template (using which you want to perform this functionality,Go to RSOR Tcode->BI Content->BEx Web Template->Select Objects.(Eg:0ANALYSIS_PATTERN)Here find for any web template and trasnfer to the right side panel,then Install it.) from BI Content.If the Portal is configured properly,then you can use any of the web template,assign the query and broadcast.If you are broadcasting a precalculated query, created in Query Designer, then it would be 0QUERY_TEMPATE_BROADCASTING70.
SAP Notes;
If you have precalculated and distributed a query, it is displayed as a table with a filter area (according to the filters selected). From a technical viewpoint, the query is embedded in the Standard Web Template for Query Precalculation (0QUERY_TEMPLATE_BROADCASTING70).
If you have generated a report as a precalculated document, the Standard Web Template for Report Precalculation (0REPORT_TEMPLATE_BROADCASTING) is used; this template contains the Report Web item. You make the setting for the standard Web templates in Customizing under SAP Reference IMG ® SAP NetWeaver ® Business Intelligence ® Settings for Reporting and Analysis ®BEx Web ®Set Standard Web Templates.You can also specify another Web template, for example, one containing your company logo, as the Standard Web Template for Query Precalculation or as the Standard Web Template for Report Precalculation.
The broadcast setting is listed in the upper area of the BEx Broadcaster screen. This is where all broadcast settings that were created for this query or Web application are displayed. If you want to edit or delete the broadcast setting, choose Edit or Delete in the context menu of the setting.
