Hiding Dashboard tab by user group

I have my users created and assigned to groups in my rpd only (under manage-security). I want to display a specific tab on my dashboard for a particular group only. All users in the other groups need to have that tab hidden. What is the best way to do this?

Create a group for example Group_DB_Hide and add all the users to this group.Remove permission for that particular folder for this Group_DB_Hide.
What you can do is place your reports for each tab in separate folders and assign access to the group as said.
goto settings-> Administration->Manage catalog-> assign permission

  • "No Items" listed under defaults tab of Users & Groups

    After Mountain Lion upgrade from Snow Leopard, "No Items" listed under default images from Users & Groups as well as Contacts (which) I'm sure share the same library. Have repaired permissions, redownloaded and re-installed Mountain Lion as recommended by the Apple Geniuses, but to no avail. Anyone got any ideas? See image.

    Hi Leroy -  Sy Kim, another user in the community posted a solution that worked, see below.

    After upgrade(from snow leopard), user picture list have no items. (Users & Groups)
    Finally, I got the solution.
    The key is to delete every '.DS_Store' files in the directory '/Library/User Pictures/'.
    Open Terminal application and follow these.
    1. Chagne directory by command below :
    cd '/Library/User Pictures'
    2. Listing all files including hiddens in the directory by command below :
    ls -al
    3. If there is a .DS_Store file. Remove the file by command below :
    sudo rm .DS_Store
    (It need user password for execute)
    Then, it'll show every pictures in 'Users & Groups' control panel.

  • How to change Dashboard Tabs based upon the login?

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement that, based upon the user login the dashboard tabs should change! not sure how to do this? any help is greatly appreciated.

    B,
    I mean assuming you have a security model, users are in groups etc. And you have one group allowed to access tab 1, and you build tab2 for another group....
    The dashboard page properties screen, has a padlock icon against page, here you can set up the presentation catalogue privs for the dashboard page, assign users / groups read access, prohibit access as you see fit.
    To get to the page properties, edit the dashboard itself, on the top row of icons against the page dropdown list is our friend, the pointy finger, hit this to get to the page properties screen, you can change order, rename pages and in this case, set security per page.
    For discussions on the security model, RPD groups & Web cat groups - best we start another thread !! have a search on the forum first though, its been covered many times :-)

  • No provisioning of User Group for authorization field in user master

    We are implementing CUP 5.3 workflows. Both in manual proviosing and automated provisioning based on User Defaults the user group gets only provisioned to the Groups tab in SU01. The field User Group for authorization on the Logon data tab remains empty (field CLASS from system table USLOGOND, filling CLASS field in table USR02).
    In User defaults both under user default as on the user group tab the user groups have been defined. In manual provisioning the correct list of user groups get displayed for selection.
    Under field mapping in the Application field I only find User Group in user master maintenance, but not User group for authorization. However I would assume I do not need to use field mapping, as I want to automate this provisioning based on user defaults.
    Am I missing a configuration setting here? If so, where can I set it?
    I would assume the provisioning of this field is possible. RAR reports the user group also based on the User group for auhtorization and not from the Groups tab.

    S.Pados,
    I can assure you that what I said in my last response does provision the User Group For Authorization Check on the Logon Data tab; in fact, I was having the opposite issue where the Group tab was not being provisioned; however, I am ruunning AE 5.2 and you said you are running 5.3; maybe something did change or got lost in the releases; it probably is good to see what SAP has to say about this; I would hate to lose this capapbility when I upgrade to AE 5.3
    As far as using the custom field for multiple applications, would that field not be usable for any of the applications you would select in the request form?; if you are using the same table names in the different SAP systems (selectable by the application field on the request) would the drop down selections be whatever the table has defined for that system? I may not be understanding something here so I am just asking;
    It would be great to have a Group field automatically filled in by another selection to avoid the user involvement; I agree with you there; because of our concerns on users entering the AE request, our shop has decided to continue with the users submitting the request through normal email and the security administrators perform the AE entering; this way we have a better idea on something like the GROUP field; we have an option to include the original email as an attachment for justification of the request
    Sorry I could not be of more help

  • Built-In Users-group is suddenly gone on folder security tab.

    Dear forum-members,
    I have got a problem with folder-permissions (acl) on a Windows 2003 Server with Terminal Services (Citrix).
    The application "Sybase" is installed on the D-drive (disk). A thrid party application needs Sybase to communicate through the sql.ini with the database. All terminal server users needs read permissions on the Sybase install directory to
    use the sql.ini.
    Normally every new folder on a server has the Builtin Administrators-group and System account "Full-Control" permissions and the Builtin Users-group had "Read en List" permissions. Now on the Sybase folder only the Builtin Administrators-group
    en System account are at the security tab, but
    not the Builtin Users-group.
    When I manually set the Builtin Users-group with read permissions it okay, but after a while the Builtin Users-group is gone/deleted/removed. There is no signal that a person, proces or action removes the permissions for the Builtin Users-group. I set
    Auditing on the folder, but with no result. I know for sure there is no GPO (Group Policy) that removes this group.
    For now I have a dirty solution to run a scheduled task every 10 minutes that run xcalcs to set the permissions. A tried a GPO to set the permissions, after a reboot the group policy doesn't apply (only after a gpupdate /force).
    Does some one of you has another proper/nice solution to force the read permissions on the Sybase folder for the Builtin Users-group?
    Thanks in advance.
    Greetings, Sidney

    Hi Shaon,
    Thank you for your reply.
    The 'third party app' is APP-V sequenced and not in production yet, so only some test users are using the app.
    I did a test today to use Domain Users instead of Builtin Users, but the same problem. After a reboot only the Builtin Administrators and SYSTEM has permission on the Sybase installation folder and Domain Users (& Builtin Users) were automatically
    removed again.
    We have 6 terminal (citrix) servers and all of them has the same problem, so it's not server related.
    Could it be an issue with the way how Sybase is packaged (it's a silence install through our deployment application)?
    Before I do the next test: Will it help to force the rights (replace permissons) from the upper folder to the sub-folder(s)? (force the inheritance)
    Greetings, Sidney

  • How to hide/show dashboards for user/groups

    Hi,
    Please help on how to hide/show dashboard menu/sub menu to users/groups based on their profile settings.
    thanks in advance.
    regards,
    kumar.

    Hi Jinu,
    1) Do some or all of those subreports span multiple pages?
    2) Do each of the Subreports start on a new page?
    If yes, for both, then here's what you need to do:
    1) Create a formula (@True) with this code:
    shared booleanvar SetStatus:= True
    2) Create another formula (@False) with this code:
    shared booleanvar SetStatus:= False
    Drag and drop the @True formula on the details sections for which you want the Page Footer to be suppressed.
    Similarly, drop the @False formula on the details sections for which you want the Page Footer to show up.
    Then, go to the Section Expert > Select Page Footer c > Click the formula button beside Suppress and use this code:
    shared booleanvar SetStatus;

  • Showing/Hiding Dashboard Prompts dynamically based on User logged on

    Hi
    I have query reg a showing/hiding dashboard prompts based on Users logged in.
    What is the best way???
    Please help
    And also anothe quick question
    Is there a way that we can change the Label of Dashboard prompt "ABC" for few users and "DEF" for other users
    Thanks in advance
    Cheers

    Hello,
    Using guided navigation properties for section, we can achieve your first requirement.
    How many prompts to be shown?
    depends on that number, you have to create those many reports in answers like,
    take one column to criteria and change functionaityt to case when 1=0 then Markets. Region else user() end
    apply filter on this equals to UserA (for userA), say ReportA
    for UserB filter has to change to UserB, say ReportB...etc
    Now, add all the prompts to dashboard, but each section (dashboard object) for each prompt.
    Go to section properties of each and select guided navigation property. The section which is holding the PromptA (should be shown to userA) then browse the reportA for guided navigation and click ok
    LIke this do for all prompts.
    Hope you understood...
    if any queries ask me..
    And for 2nd Q, in prompt, you have Select captio option which is the last option for all prompts,
    Write something there and check

  • Click on obiee dashboard tabs is not working

    Hi,
    One remote user using cisco vpn to access OBIEE dashboards. everything is all right but when he click on dashboard tabs is not working. I tried with firefox 3.6.0 and IE 8 both have same problem. we dont have this problem within the network. I dont think it's a firewall issue because everything else is working fine. we dont have any custom java script in obiee dashboards. Is it a browser problem? does any one else got this problem before?
    Thanks
    Jay.

    Hi Jay
    Yes Its browser issue. Please make sure the patch updates of IE are updated and i do have the same problem with IE 6 when user remotes (or) use citrix
    One more important point is we have made the dashboards available directly instead of residing in group folder. If you have Dashboards under group folder, give access to that Dashboard directly instead of Group folder
    Eg: Groupfolder A contains A1,A2,A3....A10 dashboards. Give acceess to A1,A2 instead of groupfolder A
    Please mark it Helpful or correct if this solved

  • How do you set up User Groups?

    Hello,
    I will be setting up several user accounts on my mac (running OS 10.4.6). Next, I would like to be able to share certain folders and files on my mac with only some of the users. I can see that in the ownership and permissions tab (under "get info") there is a tab for selecting "groups". How can I make use of this?
    Where do you set up groups of users? I would like to assign some of my users into a single group so that when I set a file to be accessible to this group I may do so simply by selecting the file and assigning it to this group but I can't seem to find a place to set up the user accounts into groups.
    Where do you assign these groups?
    What are all the default groups that I see when I scroll down the menu of group choices?
    PS What does it mean to assign a file's owner to "system".
    Thank you.
    PS I am running a regular client version of OSX Tiger (not OSX server). I mention this because I have a bad feeling that "groups" may only be an option if you are using OSX server but I would need this to be confirmed.
    Now that I have written my question I think I have found another solution using Netinfo to create groups however the most important link is broken:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=696926&#696926
    Could anyone offer any suggestions on how to create groups? If this has to be complicated I would be willing to try Netinfo if I know where to find the procedure to follow. Thank you

    Where do you set up groups of users?
    Open the NetInfo Manager in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder, click the padlock, type in your password, and then duplicate an existing group, such as admin or certusers. Assign the newly-created group an unique name and numeric gid; the gid should be between 400 and 499 to minimize the possibility of it conflicting with something added in future. Click the triangle next to the users property and change the entries in that property to match those of the accounts you want to be members of it. All the existing groups will be shown here as well; they are necessary for various system-level functions, and shouldn't be deleted.
    What does it mean to assign a file's owner to "system".
    This changes the owner to the root account, which is basically Mac OS X itself, as opposed to someone logging into the machine.

  • How do I get system users/groups to appear in the Workgroup Manager list?

    When I open the Workgroup Manager and select the Users tab, it only shows users set up in the Workgroup Manager -- same when I browse Groups. But, I also have a couple system users/groups set up not in the workgroup manager, but through the OS's System Preference interface for Users.
    Is there a way to automatically have System users appear in the Workgroup list?
    I also can't add users to System groups, since the groups also won't appear in the Workgroup Manager (like adding a user to the group Admin or Staff -- default system groups).
    I'd just like the option to "show System users and groups" somewhere.
    Thanks.
    Patrick

    Hi
    If I understand your post correctly then launch WorkGroup Manager and select Preferences from the WorkGroup Manager Menu. Enable the Show "All Records" tab and inspector option and click OK. In the Users/Groups/Computer tab you should now see the addition of another icon - it looks like a bullseye. Select this and under the filter field selecting 'AccessControls' will show you a long list. Scroll down and select Users. Now go back to the Users tab and you should see all users visible and invisible. You’ll see the same thing for Groups.
    You will see different Users and Groups depending which directory node you are in. In the LDAP node you should only see Directory and System Administrator as well as VPN MPPE Key Access User in addition to any user you have created within that node. In the local Net Info node you should see users such as Amavisd User, Clamav User, Cyrus IMAP User etc. You’ll also see UIDs and GUIDs amongst a wealth of other information if you select a user or group and select the Inspector tab.
    You can modify record attribute and values as well as adding your own. You can even use WGM in the same way you would use Net Info Manager locally if you wish.

  • Problems with user group

    Hi, i created a new user group with some administrative rights:
    Access Administration
    Advanced Document Submission
    Create Communities
    Create Community Infrastructure
    Create Folders
    Create Portlets
    Edit Own Profile
    Then, i created a user and added to this group.
    When i login with the user i created, the Administration Tab doesn't appear.
    Somebody can help me please.
    IT'S URGENT !!!!
    Thanks

    I thought access administration was all that was required. Did you get it resolved. Usually these things clear themselves up with time.

  • Restrict metadata field during an update to a specific user group

    Hello everyone,
    I am having some trouble figuring out the best way to restrict permissions to change some metadata fields for 2 different groups of users.
    I have two user groups, A and B. Group A will be checking in documents that the B group will then review for accuracy and quality. Group B will then update an optionlist field called "Status" with either "Recommended" or "Not Recommended".
    This is not a workflow situation as the scope requires that all documents are immediately available for searching. I currently have a CheckIn and Search profile for the content permitting read write access to groups A and B. The "Status" field is hidden on the CheckIn page. Can anyone please suggest a good way to restrict the field "Status" on an Update page to just "B" users? Groups A and B should be able to update all fields with the exception of the B restricted "Status" field.
    Thanks!
    Edited by: user6750815 on Jun 2, 2010 4:11 PM

    Hey rMac,
    I understand it this way you have one profile for A and B user groups. On this profile Status field is hidden.
    If this is your problem you can approach it from two places, while making the rule for hiding the Status field, use rule activation condition. Make it active only for users with Role A . This way even with single profile some of the user with Role B will be able to see the Status field.
    otherwise you can put similar code in Restrict Personalization Link where in you make this hidden field editable and compulsory for Users in B.
    cheers,
    sapan

  • Custom user/group properties

    Hi,
    Is there a possibility to extend the standard user/group properties (CQ5 Security)? I would like to add some more properties then the standard name, mail, about,....
    I've tried to extend the dialog by cutomizing the UserProperties.js Dialog. The Problem is that cq5 doesent save the newly added propertes. There is a save function using the folowing service.
                    url = CQ.HTTP.externalize("/bin/security/authorizables/POST");
                    url = CQ.HTTP.addParameter(url, "Authorizable", frm.findField("id").getValue());
    It posts the parameter but it doesent get saved.
    Is there a way to make it work?

    I have used a kind of a workaround. Just created a new tab for the user/group properties and registered it in the UserAdmin.js . The Tab is implemented similar to the CQ.security.UserProperties and has a similar save handler.
    I'm getting the stored Properties the following way:
            private static final String PREFERENCES_NODE_PATH = "/preferences";
            preferencesNode = currentSession.getNode(group.getPath() + PREFERENCES_NODE_PATH);
            if (preferencesNode.hasProperty(preferenceName)) {
                preferenceValue = preferencesNode.getProperty(preferenceName);
    I know it's not the most elegant solution but the fastest I have found.

  • WLCS USer/Group Management

    Hi,
    I am having a problem with the WLCS3.1 UserManagement part.
    The application we are buildin basically consists of two pieces, Internet
    and extranet( site
    accessible to our customers/partners by logging in).
    The internet part has couple of forms that our prospect customers submit and
    this user profile information gets stored in Oracle.
    The second piece isour extranet, which works in sync with our Customer
    Relationship Management appliction. The users information is put into
    Netscape DirectoryServer(NDS) by our CRM application ans we just use it for
    authentication and single sign on into both the application.
    Since the User Management system works in conjunction with the WebLogic
    Server's security realm (which happens to be LDAP for us), we cannot store
    user/groupes anymore into oracle by using JSP taglibraries.
    My question is, if we can store just the user (and password) in NDS LDAP and
    the
    GROUP and profile in WebLogic and personalize the content based on this
    info.?
    If so, what is the best workaround for this..
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Tracy,
    Are you trying to create property sets?
    If you are trying to create a user/group property set, then you do that with the EBCC tool. See the "Site Infrastructure" tab and
    use
    File --> New --> Site Infrastructure --> User Profile to create a new one. See "Creating a Property Set Definition" at
    http://edocs.bea.com/wlp/docs70/dev/usrgrp.htm#998997 .
