Home entertainment - Audio and video not in s

I call a Philips LCD 37PFL7403D/0 with [size="">HD Natural Motion technology my own. When I turn on HD Natural Motion feature, audio and video are not in sync anymore. The Philips FAQ recommands to set the audio sync delay to 200 milliseconds (200ms).
I use a Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio and I have not found any possibility to adjust the audio sync delay.

Um ... some useful data?
OS/CPU/RAM/GPU/vRAM ... version of PrPro ... and other programs or plugi-ins/3rd-party apps involved ... footage type/codec/wrapper ... such things would be very useful.

  • Audio and video not in synch after upgrade

I have 12.1.1.4. I'm using this new version for the first time tonight, to watch some Walking Dead episodes, and the audio and video drift out of synch. I can bring them back into synch by pausing then replaying, but it doesn't last. I watched some older videos that I know to be good and had the same issue, so it's not a problem with the episodes.
    What I've tried:
Making sure that the Quicktime audio settings match the ones on my sound card.
    Uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes.

I also have this problem, and some videos will no longer play in iTunes.
I get a message that this video is not compatible with this version of iTunes. I have to open the video in Quicktime to watch it.
Unacceptable! This hardware and software is too expensive to have these performance issues.

  • Audio and Video not in Sync (Decklink a/v)

Hello. No matter what I do, Soundtrack Pro's audio and video are not in sync. Audio always comes a slight bit later which makes working in STP really hard. I run STP with a Decklink Extreme, for both audio and video. Any tips?

well i had the same post. kinda. but yeah it is totally limited as a film scoring app, who would have thought. there isn't any way to offset the sync.
Logic would be your best bet, or Pro Tools with DV kit.

  • Audio and Video Not Synchronizing in the Same Clip.

Ok, So I have had Adobe Premier Pro for a while now an I love it. I just have one not so insignificant problem with it. I was in the middle of making a video (with one particularly long clip in it) and I noticed something that began to happen in the beginning of the clip and went up until about thirty seconds. The audio and video gradually became further and further apart until they were about three seconds off. I was only using one clip so there should be no way I screwed up the placement of the files in the timeline. Viewing the clip in quicktime player does not give me that problem, so it's either a problem with Premiere Pro, or something else that I am unaware of. It has became so bad that I even downloaded iMovie so I could at least get this movie edited. I am pretty new to Premier Pro so any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!

Exactly what is INSIDE the video you are editing?

  • Audio and video not synchronized in recording made with Lync 2013

There appears to be no forum for the Lync 2013 client yet, so I am posting this in the Lync 2013 server forum.
Environment: Lync 2013 Server and Lync 2013 32-bit client. Only one Lync pool. Conference call was scheduled using "Lync Meeting" in Outlook about a week before the call. Call recorded on a laptop that was plugged into our LAN with an Ethernet
    cable.
Problem: User scheduled a conference call with screen sharing (PowerPoint) and recorded the call. The audio and video are not synchronized in the recording. There is several minutes' delay, with the audio lagging behind the PowerPoint. The last slide
on the call was presented, the call ended, and the presenter ended the recording (I was present for all this and can confirm no user error in these steps); however, in the recording, the slides change before the speaker talks about it, and the last
couple of minutes are cut off.
Any ideas on why this happened? Web research has failed me. Thank you.

You may need to lower the recording quality as your PC might not be able to keep up the pace.
Go to Options in Lync client -> Recording -> Select 480p
    Then test again

  • 5G iPod Audio and Video not in Sync

I bought an iPod 30 GB a couple of days before. I was trying to download a movie to it which is in MP4 format. The original movie was in AVI format and I used Videora iPod converter to convert AVI -> MP4, but when I try to view the movie in my iPod the Audio and Video are not in Sync at al. The audio is way ahead of the video. Please someone let me know how to fix this problem. I turned off Equalizer and all other fancy settings in the iPod but it still didn't help.

some encoders have this problem occasionally. I've seen it very frequently in ffmpex when the source is avi. not sure what you're using, but so I'd suggest you try a different software. I'm getting very good results out of handbrake or 42.

  • IChat Audio and Video not working correctly...

    Hi.
I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard. Before upgrading, I was able to video chat with little to no problem with family over iChat. I just tried it again today for the first time since upgrading to Snow Leopard and the audio is barely working (can only make out every few words, if that), and the video is extremely distorted to where you can sometimes not even tell there are people there. It gets all pixelated and weird. I tried doing the chat with Google Talk and then again with Skype, and had just as many problems with those. My family is using a Mac with an older OS, and they can see and hear me perfectly fine. I'm not sure if the problem is with my computer or with theirs, or if it's just a communication problem, but any ideas would be really helpful. Thanks!

After iChat developed missing audio and video pixellation problem post Snow Leopard installation at my mother-in-law's machine (and ours), I tried the usual decrease the bandwidth fix to no avail.
The solution that actually fixed the probem was to turn off port forwarding protocol on her Time Capsule and our Airport Extreme. Things are now working smoothly even at 500 kbps settings on both ends.
An interesting aside... Turning off port forwarding for ssh to her machine doesn't kill the ssh port tunnel from the outside LAN to her mac. It looks like iChat and the Time Capsule keep an incoming ssh tunnel open even if you have disabled port forwarding on the Time Capsule. I suspect this "secret" opening of ports is the magic of why iChat and screen sharing have been so much easier to set up when a Mac is behind an Apple router. 3rd party routers need ports manually forwarded to the Mac. Apple routers just worked ---- and it looks like Apple does it by invisibly opening ports on their routers when a Mac runs iChat.
Pretty nifty, but also silently opens a security hole that you may THINK you closed. SL seems to trip up over this arrangement when you also turn on Port Mapping Protocol and manually assign ports to forward.
At any rate, it wasn't the data rate, it was a new bad interaction between the Apple Router's Port Mapping Protocol and iChat 5. Turn off PMP on the airport and all becomes well once more.

  • Audio And Video Not Linked

When I drag clips from the Viewer to the Timeline I get audio and video together, but afterwards they are separate. They aren't selected together unless I do a shift-click selection, and even then I can't trim both at once. FCE does seem to remember that they should be in sync because I still get the little red boxes. This is probably just some little setting I inadvertently changed, but I have no idea what. Can someone please help?

Linked clips (video and audio) will have an underline below the name, this can be toggled on or off with Modify>Link (Command-L).
For selecting in the Timeline there is a button at the top right. This only selects the video and audio at the same time, it does not Link/Unlink.

  • Please help with audio and video not syncing.

I'm using Encore 3, and have already authored a DVD a month ago without a glitch. The following are the same steps I used, but this time around, the video and audio in Encore are not syncing.
    Here's what I've done.
    1) I export my Final Cut projects to .mov using the following settings (Share > Master File).
    Format: Video and Audio
    Video codec: H.264
    Resolution: 1920x1080
Audio file format: Quicktime Movie (AAC)
    Include chapter markers: Unchecked
    Roles as: Quicktime Movie
    2) I run the .mov file in Compressor using the "Disc Burning" preset.
    3) I then import the .ac3 and .m2v files that Compressor created into Encore.
    4) In Encore, I select both files and go to New > Timeline.
In the Timeline window, the durations on both are the same. But I don't understand why the audio and video are not synced when I preview or when I burn a test DVD. The audio comes in just a tad late.
    Video Clip:
    Source In: 00;00;00;00
    Duration: 00;02;33;29
    In-Point: 00;00;00;00
    Out-Point: 00;02;33;29
    Audio Clip:
    Source In: 00;00;00;00
    Duration: 00;02;34;00
    In-Point: 00;00;00;00
    Out-Point: 00;02;34;00
What's puzzling is that two of the 10 videos I've import to Encore are synced perfectly -- same export settings from FCP, same settings Compressor.
    Please help.
    Thanks!
    Mark

    Hi Mark.
Do you have any situations where there is more than one video file in a timeline?
Secondly - why are you using H264 HD files for a DVD? This is using lossy compression to make the H264, which is in turn then scaled & even further bitrate reduced for M2V.
I would give it a try rendering an SD video file for use in Encore - not the H264 - and starting out with Dolby Digital or LPCM audio, not AAC.
As with all DVD authoring programs, Encore works best with DVD compliant assets - which you are most definitely using - but I still think you are over-complicating things by using H264/AAC at all.
    Eliminating this may help.

  • Audio and video not linked by default?

Sometimes it seems that the audio and video tracks are linked and sometimes they are not, without me unlinking them. I have also noticed that sometimes it seems that I am unable to link tracks back together? Are there common reasons why my video and audio might behave this way?
    Thanks.

    Tom Wolsky wrote:
You can only link one track of video to up to 24 separate items of audio as long as they are not linked to any other video
AND as long as those audio clips are on seperate tracks.
Clips that are captured with Video and Audio are Linked by default.
You can determine if clips are linked in the timeline. They have an underlined clipname in the Timeline. Unlinked items are not underlined.
Linked Selection can only select linked clips. So if Linked Selection is ON (See luca's screengrab, earlier this thread), then clicking on an underlined audio clip, it's linked videoclip (and other linked audioclips) will be selected.
Now on how clips become unlinked. One example can be when you have a linked clip in the timeline (with 1 video and 2 audio layers) and then you cut somewehere in the middle of the audio portions of that clip, then you'll notice that the left part of the audioclips are still linked to the videoclip (all underlined clipnames), but the right part of the audio clips are unlinked from the video (not underlined. This is because the video can only have a link to 1 audio clip per audiotrack...
    Hope this makes sence...

  • Audio and video not synched up....

Hello everyone. I am having a problem with my i-movie and was wondering if anyone here might know what I need to do to solve it.
The problem is that the audio and video are not synchronized when I capture a movie.
    Any suggestions?

Hello and thanks for your help. May I pursue this with you further? I think I figured out how to separate the audio and video, by using the imovie help. What i have now is a green bar that appears all along the bottom of the video frames.
I'm having one problem. When i move the audio, and then play back the track, both the new audio position and the old one play, so I get this echo effect. Do you know how I save it without the old position?
Also one other problem I'm having is that when I record video, for some reason whole chunks of the recording are missing. I don't know what is causing this....

  • Audio and video not synchronised at Visio

When I play video at my Zen Vision:M, the audio and video is not synchronised. I don't know if it is all of my video, but at least most of it. The video and audio is synchronised when I play them at my PC.
I have the newest American firmware, .4.0 (because of European volume cap), and the problem did maybe come after updating to this.
Does someone else have this problem, or does someone have a solution?Message Edited by trygveaa on 07-05-2006 02:20 PM

  • Audio and Video not matching up after compression

I made a video that is 3:18 minutes long and after about 2 minutes, the audio and video don't match up anymore. I have 2 clips in the video that i conformed to 24p in Cinema Tools and i think that they are causing this problem. I noticed that Audio rate of the clips that i conformed, does not match up to the clips which are not. For example, the audio rate of my 59.94 fps clips is 48.0 KHz, and the audio rate of my 24 fps clips is, 19219 KHz. Is there any solution to this problem? I read a post that said i would need to re-digitize the clips, but i don't know how to do this. Can anyone help me?

I still can't figure out how to solve this problem. I tried to resample the audio, but still, same things happening. If you watch the video, the audio goes off about 2 minutes into it. The audio is correctly matched up with the video when i view it in FCP, but every time i compress it, audio goes off in the exact some spot. Here is a link to the video- http://vimeo.com/21619542

  • Audio and Video not synching after export

I've uploaded DV from my camera into iMovie. In iMovie, audio and video are synching perfectly, but when I export to Quicktime they are off by about a second (or two). I've tried several different "expert settings," but still no dice. I've not had this problem occur before, so I'm confused. Anyone?

Make sure none of your clips are using custom slow motion percentages. Only use what the slow motion slider snaps to. I had the same problem and once I changed my percentages to what iMovie wanted everything exported correctly.
