Home Hub 3 - no event log for a month

I tried and failed to access the Hub Manager home page yesterday.
I tried several PCs / operating systems / browsers without success.
Eventually, I rebooted the router and managed to access the page.
Having logged in I found that no entries had been added to the event log since the early hours of November 18th (just over a month ago) although the broadband has been working fine.
Has anybody else had similar experiences? As a generally paranoid individual I am not too happy that there are missing event log items!!
Thanks
Brian

Hi oldbak,
Is this issue still apparent? Have you tried resetting the hub?

  • Questions about BT Home Hub 4A event log - WIFI c...

Hope someone can help please ?
I had BT inifinity installed 2 weeks ago with the HH 4 (type A) and everything has worked - connection found, no problem.
This week, my ipod touch was unable to join the network but the iphone 5, another ipod and a tablet could connect without a problem. The ipod touch managed to connect to another WIFI used at the property and my work wifi without a problem.
I thought it maybe the ipod touch as it was quite old but that doesn't make sense since it connects fine to other networks.  I restored network settings and other options suggested by Apple but to no avail.
I have turned my attention to the Hub. My laptop (older than the ipod touch) gets the connection no problem along with the other devices.  I went into the hub management page but I am not smart enough to decifer the event log so would like some help so I can fix this because I thought BT infinity was the better more reliable option?
The ipod touch Wifi IP address is 00:25:00:b7:35:f6.
On the event log, it shows STA before the address - but it shows STA before all the device IP addresses. Should I change this to DCHP ? or is this (Static ? alright)
The Lease on all the devices on the event log is set to 1440 min. (1 day) is that alright too, what does it mean ?
Do I have to keep renewing the lease ? How do I do that ? I read it can be set to 21 days ?
Going back to the IP address on the ipod it shows the Hostname as 00:25:00:B7:35:f6-2 this is different to the IP address with the -2. Could that be a cause of the unable to join network or is it because I attempted to recreate the network on the ipod so its the second version of that host name ?
Is there any setting I can change to fix this because I am concerned the same this will happen to the other devices and then the laptop....
What do I need to do to be able to get my ipod touch to connect to the BT network setting ?
I think its the hub 4A causing the 'block' on the ipod touch not the device and I think its maybe a matter of changing a setting - but then why was it all fine before when Infinity was first installed ?
Lastly my laptop (7 Years old) seems to be attached to the 5GHZ Wireless channel - is that alright ? The other more recent devices are on the 2.4ghz channel (except the ipod touch which isn't on any !!)
Is it alright to turn the hub on / off ? -I am resisting that because I don't want to make the situation worse.
Sorry but what does client disassociated mean and all the BLOCKS - do they relate to firewall ?
Please can you review the event log and my questions ?
    Many thanks

It could be that the Ipod touch is having problems with both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies being named the same. If you give them separate SSids it may help. ie add a 5 to the 5GHz SSid.
If you do this you will need to re-connect all your devices that can see both frequencies to both SSids so that they will swap between the frequencies seamlessly when ever they need to
See link how to change SSid.
    http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/44504/related/1/session/L2F2LzEvdGltZS8xMzc1OTY2ODIxL...
Once you have changed the SSid I would delete the network connection on the Ipod touch and start again.

  • Search event logs for file system access

I'm looking to create a script that will allow me to search Windows 2012 security event logs for access to specific folders.  Ideally it would allow the granularity to search for read access events (4663) and specify specific users to view.  One
example would be to show events for drive F:\ where the folder name is JSmith (including subfolders) and the username is not JSmith.
I've tried something like this, but can't see how to filter.
    Get-EventLog security | ? {$_.Message.contains("F:\JSmith")}

Is the match explicit?  How can I use wildcard?  How can I exclude events?
I recommend asking a search engine and doing some initial research. Here's a starter:

    Hi All,
I am looking for a script which can be run on a domain controller to check which user accounts logged in on the domain. I am looking for both the username and client. Reason why I need this is to check where service accounts are used.
    Thanks.

    Hi Bart,
To parse the event log, you can refer to the cmdlet "Get-WinEvent", and how to use this cmdlet to parse event log, please check this article, you can also add the "-computername" to query event log from remote computers:
Use PowerShell Cmdlet to Filter Event Log for Easy Parsing
To monitor the logon history, please check this function to start:
    function Get-Win7LogonHistory {
    $logons = Get-EventLog Security -AsBaseObject -InstanceId 4624,4647 |
    Where-Object { ($_.InstanceId -eq 4647) -or (($_.InstanceId -eq 4624) -and ($_.Message -match "Logon Type:\s+2")) -or (($_.InstanceId -eq 4624) -and ($_.Message -match "Logon Type:\s+10")) }
    $poweroffs = Get-EventLog System -AsBaseObject -InstanceId 41
    $events = $logons + $poweroffs | Sort-Object TimeGenerated
    if ($events) {

  • Suspicious entries in Hub's event log

I'm suddenly seeing a lot of weird IP addresses establishing connections through my Home Hub's firewall. They originate from various places including UK, China, Mauritania, Ukraine, France and the US. What are they and what should I do? Is this some kind of attack?

If you are running game which needs incoming ports, then simply use port forwarding, and forward the ports that the game needs.
At a guess, you are running a game or application on a device at IP address, 192.168.1.69 which needs incoming port 45490. You can map this manually

  • Is turning off a Home Hub a valid reason for very ...

The BT Technical people, are trying to resolve my problem of very slow broadband speeds, and part of their stated reason is that I used to turn off my Hub every time I'd logged off (I don't now!), with the automatic monitoring software detecting this as repeated faults & re-setting my profile to deliver progressively slower speeds "until it gets a stable broadband connection".
Is this true?  I can find nothing in the user guides for the Home Hub 3 they've very recently sent to me, nor anywhere else on BT sites, telling users they must leave their Hub turned on 24/7.

Which "Hub instructions" would those be?  BT technical people sent me a new Hub 3, which came with no paper manuals, no cd etc.  When I finally tracked down Hub 3 manuals on BT.Com, none of them refer to leaving the Hub on permanently, only to leaving it on 24/7 for the first few days after BT Broadband is enabled until it "settles down".  Since my connection was enabled over 2 years ago, that clearly was never the issue - nor did anyone from BT tell me to leave the Hub on 24/7 when I moved to this house!  Nor is the requirement in my original Hub's manuals..
I'm just curious as to how a user is supposed to know about this "leave it on" rule, and the consequences (automatically reduced speeds) if you don't.

  • Home Hub 3 Port forwarding for Netgear Stora

    Hi,
I have had a Negear Stora on my home network with a HH3 for about 6 months. Up untill about 10 days ago, all was good, however now when i try to access it remotely via the mystora.com web portal, i am getting the following error messages
      Stora is Online,
      but cannot be accessed remotely.
Your Stora is not currently accessible. This may be for several reasons:
      • Your ISP is not allowing Internet traffic to your Stora
      • A firewall is blocking internet access to your Stora
      • Port forwarding is not correctly configured on your router, or UPnP is disabled
I have enabled UPnP and have turned of the firewall off, but still no joy.
Is anybody else having this issue? Can somebody please guide me threw the port forwarding as i dont want to braak anything else.
    Thanks in advance
    W

  • SCCM 2012 creates 4732 event logs for 3 of Servers

    Hi,
My problem is SCCM 2012 R2 which I have installed recently is creating 4732 security logs in 3 of our servers for every 5hrs interval which is an audit exposure. When I investigated which gives me local administrator ID is getting added to the NT Authority
Group, which I'm not able to explain. Can some one help me in understanding it or Is there anyway I can stop that?

    Hi,
Please provide more information as Torsten said.
Are there Event ID: 4733 messages existed in event log if it creates 4732 logs every 5 hours? Is it the same account being added to the same Group?
    Best Regards,
    Joyce

  • Event log for events from function module BP_EVENT_RAISE

    Hello experts,
where can I look at the event log which where raised with the
    function modul BP_EVENT_RAISE.
    Thanks.
    Regards, Lars.

this function module does not write a log by itself. and actually i would not know what should be in that log. usually you set up an event to trigger a follow-up process, so there's either the event was successfully triggered and your follow-up process has been started ... or it hasn't, which means: something went wrong ...

i was just sap-netting with your problem and i found note [919458|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1kZSZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=919458&nlang=EN&smpsrv=https%3a%2f%2fwebsmp205%2esap-ag%2ede] where they use program BTC_EVENT_RAISE instead of BP_EVENT_RAISE. the note says this program writes at least a line in the job-log so it might fulfill your requirements ...

  • Event Logs for Audit inside SSMS

I've been asked to create some audit function inside SS for my dept.  So currently I have added audit specs on both the server and database level.  To keep it simple for my first time around, I created one Audit Action Type (on the database level)
    for a Select statement, Obj Class=Object, Object=dbo, Object Name = table1, Principal=public.
    Then I ran a select statement (select top 100 * from table1).
I am not privy to logging into the server (based on security reasons).  The setup of audit was done from my local SSMS application connected to the server.  Is it possible to view this audit inside my local SSMS (ver 2012)?
    Regards,
    Brian

you can use TSQL to get the information.. you need to know you audit log file path and name...
you can find that in under security -- Audits --Right click and properties and you can replace that
with the path and find the current file replace that as well.
you can filter to the database_name and if you want more specific, you can add more fliter conditions
    select * from fn_get_audit_file('<<auditfilepath>>\ServerAudit_6DAE56DE-E508-4A47-A2FF-FE737A285E84_0_130728921550980000.sqlaudit',default,default)
    where database_name='Yourdatabase'
    Hope it Helps!!

  • Changing ST03 Settings for log for 3 months

    Hi,
As of now i can see only last 2 months of logs.
I need to change this setting to 3 month
So please let me know whether the following steps are correct. Also let me know if i need to do any other settings
    goto transaction ST03 or ST03N
switch to EXPERT MODE (on the top left corner)
drilldown menu Collector and Performance DB on the left pane
drilldown submenu Workload Collector on the left pane
    Drill down to Total Collection
double click on Control Data on the left pane
On the Right Side Change the Month data to 3 months

This is the path that we use: STO3N > Switch to expert mode > Collector and Performance DB > Performance Database > Monitoring Database > Reorganization > Set values and save.
    Hope that helps.

  • Home hub 3 latest update

After latest update to home hub 3 event log shows alot of firewall activity is this normal or is there some other problem.

The event log on my hub is now 6 pages log - it used to be a max of 3. The hub resynched less than 2 days ago so the log runs from that time. The log categories may have changed and the firewall entries that are reported are different.
Somewhat bizzarely the hub home network page says no wireless devices connected so my laptop doesn't exist even though the IP address is within the hub range.
