Home screen stopped rotating

Since last update my home screen will not rotate to landscape.  Rotation works in an app.  Any fixes?  Thanks.

Try a reset, you will not lose any data.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • N9 feeds on home screen stopped working

Hi all... After almost two years with the amazing (???) n9, it stoped working properly. To be precise the feeds in home screen stoped workin. I cant get any new notification from facebook etc. Any ideas??? Is there anything to be done or I should just throw the phone away and buy a better one???? Any help appreciated.....Thanks in advance...

it is possible that it is not the device so much as an update from those companies on their security profile requirements, which change from time to time.
if that is the case, then hopefully the community would update the firmware as nokia has not supported that device for over a year now.
go to talk.maemo.org and look around there.
if it is a security update, you will not be the only one there that is talking about it, so there should be something there for you to find.
    hope that helps.

  • I have an Ipod touch and the screen stop rotating even after double tapping home and sliding left to right

I have restart, restored, and it still didn't fix the problem

If you are still having this problem after restoring to factory settings/new iPod (you did not say what restore you did) that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • The I-Pad screen stopped rotating otherwise the I-Pad works. How to restore screen rotation?

How can I restore screen rotation . It stopped suddenly everything else seems to work fine.

If you see a lock icon in the upper right corner of the screen - then the screen orientation is locked.
Try the side switch above the volume rocker first and see if that unlocks the screen. If that doesn't do it, double tap the home button and swipe to the right and look for the lock icon all the way to the left.
If the screen is unlocked but still will not rotate, reset the iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • Home screen won't rotate to landscape

I thought that my home screen would rotate into landscape mode when I first got the phone, but it will no longer do so.  This happens on the home screen and in the app drawer.  When my phone is in the desktop cradle it rotates just fine.  When I am in an app such as messaging or the browser it rotates also with no problem.
Auto rotation is checked in settings - display.
Anyone know why this might be happening or how to fix it?  I sometimes prefer to hold my phone in landscape mode depending on how I am using it.

    JoeNe,
This appears to be an artifact of the OS.  I tried to duplicate the situation, and was easily able to.  Also, the dialer screen does not rotate.
I use a desk dock for the phone, and when docked the Apps screen, the dialer screen and the home screens all rotate (the phone is docked in an orientation with its left side down).  So I think this is part of the design of the OS.
Perhaps not to your liking, but I don't think this is considered a malfunction.

  • Screen Auto-Rotate Won't Rotate

My screen stopped rotating. When I open an app it just rotates to one side. I already went to the settings and it did not help. Has anyone else had this proble? It just started today.

    Hi RoggieWonKanobe,
Does the screen rotate when you are in an application, or in the standard dock/car dock (if you have them)? I ask this because the home screens do not rotate, unless a 3rd party application, like Launcher Pro, for example, has been downloaded. This application has multiple themes and can be personalized.
Because of the widgets, the stock launcher for the Bionic has five screens that are non-configurable and do not rotate.
The Bionic will auto-rotate when in an application or when in one of the docks, as mentioned above.
I hope this information is helpful. Have a good day!

  • IPhone 6 Plus lock home screen only in portrait?

Hey, I wonder if there is a way to lock the home screen only to make it stay in portrait but everything still goes to landscape in the apps?
The portrait lock locks everything and I don't want that, I only want to disable the rotation in homescreen.

I want the same thing.  But if you don't mind text and icons being a little bigger, I think you can turn on the zoom setting under display & brighteness, I think that will stop the home screen from rotating without locking everything else.

  • How do i stop the screen from rotating on my iphone

how do i stop the screen from rotating on my iphone when i move the phone from horizontal to vertical

You can lock your screen from rotating. Double-click the home button, then slide your finger to the right until your get to the iPod section. There you click the icon on the left and that will lock your screen. You can unlock it the same way.

  • TS3274 My screen has stopped rotating...how do I fix this?

My screen has stopped rotating when Inchance the angle...how do I fix this?

Is there a lock symbol at the top of the screen next to the battery indicator ? If there is, then depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (rotation lock or mute notifications), then you can lock/unlock the rotation by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085
If there isn't a lock symbol then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • IPad2 stopped rotating; screen is NOT locked

iPad 2 recently stopped rotating, it is now stuck in portrait. The screen rotation is definitely not locked, have checked both the physical switch and the settings.
Restarting the iPad and restoring original settings did not do anything.
Apps which are natively in landscape mode still open up and work fine - in fact, all apps still work, but the ones that could rotate before can't rotate now. It's not an app problem as the home screen will not rotate and it is not specific to one app.
One thing I have noticed with the smart cover is that it would rub against the screen when in my bag and you could hear the clicks as the iPad constantly locked and unlocked when it started rubbing. I've read some speculation that the magnets could be affecting the accelerometer... I have bought a new cover that doesn't rub like this even though it also has magnets and the capability to lock/unlock like the smart cover.

I am also having the same problem even though nothing is locked. I do not now know what to do to get it working. I have taken the smart cover off, turned off my ipad2 but still not working.
