I have a Palm T|X, running Palm OS Garnet v.5.4.9
Last night, I tried to install ConvertCalc - CodeThought, Inc., the OS5 version, and it blue-screened my desktop. (running XP Pro)
Now, Hotsync Manager won't run - either at boot-up, or if I try to start it manually.
I have un-installed Palm Desktop (v6.2.2), and tried re-installing it, but when it gets to the HotSync Manager, it crashes with the error in the subject line.
Any clues ?

Open you Event Log and see what the defaulting module is. It could be PS, drivers, conflicting program, corrupted load of program, or any number of things.

the first thing that i check for when people report getting that message when they try to launch their itunes is a broken QuickTime.
try to open your QuickTime. does it launch properly, or do you get an error message?
if you get an error message, the first thing we'll try is a careful standalone QT 7.1 reinstall.
download and save a copy of the QT 7.1 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.

if that install goes through okay, does your itunes launch properly again?
(if you get an error message on the QT standalone reinstall, let us know what it says. include error message numbers if you're getting any.)

I'm building an application on LV using TABs, FPGA DLLs and DLLs that comunicate with CAN, GPIB and PCI devices.
The program apears to work properly but sometimes, and I can't see the patern, it crashes with the error "the application has encountered a problem and needs to close..."
Sometimes the error apears when I'm trying to exit the program, some other times it crashes before that.
I can't find the error because the program may work well for several hours and then crash or it crashes after 5 minutes of working with it.
Any clues on what is going wrong?

Go to Solution.I'm still going through the example, but since the error ocours sporadicaly this could take some time to pinpoint the error.
I was reviewing the code and I was wondering about some simple things, like:
- I have to many local variables, could this be causing somekind of an error?
- since I'm using DLLs on my code, are there a way to make sure that all DLLs are loaded and unloaded correctly?
My program has a TAB with a simple TestStand user interface and when I change TABs I close the teststand ui; when I use that user interface I load and unload the same DLLs that I use on the other TABs, i. e., when using the UI I load all the DLLs that comunicate with the devices and when I change TABs I unload all the DLLs because on each separate TAB I can control those devices indicidually.
It's a bit hard to explain but I think I managed
Is there some truth on my questions? If so, what could I do?

RCConsole MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to close
Alright, heres the issue. I am a computer lab admin trying to remote
view workstations in my lab. I am running ConsoleOne from the server,
once i start ConsoleOne I will be able to remote view/control maybe one
or two computers before i get the error "RCConsole MFC Application has
encountered a problem and needs to be closed immediately"
I can fix this by going into the task manager and closing the
RCConsole.exe process. However i might get one or two computers before
it comes back. I searched the internet for a solution to this and heard
that if i copy the ConsoleOne directory from the server to my local
machine it will work. So I did that and yes it did work, however we are
running a diskless boot system and if I were to copy the directory to
the local machine it would be gone as soon as I reboot.
Ive done some random testing and discovered the following
the console one directory is located on the server in
/sys/public/mgmt/consoleone/1.2/bin
i tried copying the console one directory to the root c: and it worked
fine
then i tried copying it to my network drive on the server

InterVideo WinDVR Application has encountered a problem and needs to close.
My TV Anywhere has suddenly stopoed working and the message "InterVideo WinDVR Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." appears each time I try to open the program. MSI Radio works fine. I have uninstalled and re-installed the programe (originally MSIPVS now MSIPVS3). I did try to download the new Beta drivers just to try, but the zip file shows 0 bytes!
Has anyone come across this, or can anyone suggest what I can try to resolve the issue?

I should point out that I am much more confident with software issues. I am not a hardware person and have never attempted to open up the box!

After decades, I finally gave up on Microsoft and bought a MacBook Pro. However, for work, I still have to use Microsoft. When I try to edit a Word Document in any way a screen pops up saying Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close; gives me an option to recover my work and restart Word; when I click that option Word restarts but I alway lose my work. This just started; before it was working fine. Help?

LibreOffice (donation-supported)
NeoOffice ($10 but older version is free)
OpenOffice (completely free)
In addition to the above I also recommend Apple's Pages ($19.99). All of these options allow you to open, edit, and save Word-formatted documents and spreadsheets. I use OpenOffice and Pages and have been completely Microsoft - free for over a year now. Life is better without Microsoft. -

I had the same problem after installing Rescue and Recovery V4. I did some research and Fast Restore Application is UPDATEMONITOR.exe. I did a search for this program in XP and it came back as being directly attached to Rescue and Recovery. I then just uninstalled R & R which in turn got rid of UPDATEMONITOR.exe. It's unfortunate that it had to come to uninstalling the software, but doidn so solved the problem for me.

I have a client currently using SAP B1 2007 SP00 PL47.
They have multiple SAP B1 companies set up.
SAP Crystal Report(CR) integration Add On is installed.
Crystal Report 2008 is also installed.
My client logon to SAP company A, run a report from the CR Add On.
While waiting, he then logon to Company B and do other work.
Then he received a message "SAP_CR has encountered a problem and needs to close". we are sorry for the inconvenience.
Note that
1. the error only happens when my client logon to 2 companies at the same time.
Has anyone encountered that problem before?I know this is a couple of months old but it was the only result that came up in Google and relates to exactly the problem we are having with the exception a user is not trying to open more than one company at a time. We have the same version of SAP as the original poster to this thread, SAP Business One 2007, and are trying to load up Crystal Reports 2.0.0.7 integrated add-on. All other Add-Ons install and load fine when the user has logged in but not the Crystal Reports add-on. The add-on is set to start automatically but it does not and when I go into the Administration - Add-Ons - Add-on Manager the Crystal Reports for SAP Business One has a Status of "Connecting" and the Group is showing as "Automatic". When I highlight the addon and attempt to click "Start" to force it to start the same popup appears saying "SAP_CR has encountered a problem and needs to close.". At the same time as this keeps happening I check the computer's normal event error logs and I get the following event:

It sounds like you've worked through the general troubleshooting document for XP launch crashes, quits, freezes, etc, BB. Is this one a systemwide crash, or is it limited to a single user account on the PC? -

I have tried to remove Adobe Reader via Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs but that won't work. I get this: This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package. I don't know how to do what is being asked. I have tried to download Adobe Reader again but get this when I do: Note: this application already installed.
I have Adobe Reader X (10.0.1) with an update installed on 2/19/2011. I have Windows XP SP3.
Anyone who can help me get Adobe Reader working correctly again or uninstalling it so I can reinstall.

I just updated to iTunes 7.7.0.43 for Windows Home XP. The earlier version was working just fine. But last week I downloaded the update and although the program works fine, every time that I exit from this application I get an error message "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close." I went to the support site and did several things including creating a new ueer account to test whether user or system-specific (I cannot tell); re-installing the application; re-creating my library and play-lists; etc. But I still get the same error message. Otherwise the application works fine, plays music, imports music OK, etc. This condition only occurs a few seconds after I exit from the application. Can anybody out there help me ? I am at my wit's end with this annoyance ! Thanks.Whether or not this will be fixed by a software update depends on what the root cause of the issue is. I would recommend trying MSCONFIG, although I can understand your reluctance to do so. Is your computer currently in Normal startup mode? If so, and if Apple's MSCONFIG steps do not resolve your issue, you can easily revert to Normal startup using the utility. If your computer is currently in Selective startup mode, just make note of the changes you make so you can change them back after you determine whether MSCONFIG resolved the issue. If it does, I'd suggest using the utility to disable a few items at a time until you narrow down which is the cause of the issue. Then you can determine whether this is a startup item or service that you need to have running on your PC.

You may also want to check and see if iTunes and/or QuickTime are running in compatibility mode. If the are, turn this option off and retry iTunes.

Click Ok
