That's exactly what I meant, but for some reason Home Sharing stopped working on my iPad2 once I activated iTunes Match.
Since then, I waited for iTunes Match to finish setting up and scanning my iTunes library on my MacBook Pro and I restarted my iPad2. Both Home Sharing and iTunes Match are now up and running smoothly!

home sharing is turned on in itunes (file > home sharing).
home sharing is on for the ipad (settings > music)
They are both connected to the same wifi network (usually our computer doesnt use wifi and is wired, but we turned wifi on just for this)
When I open music in the ipad (even after continually quitting and reopening the app) there is no 'more' button in the bottom right that there is supposed to be.

More does more than home sharing, so it's odd that it isn't there, even if home sharing wasn't working for some reason. Are you sure you are in the music app and not the iTunes App. -

How can I access my home security DVR from the internet?
My Time Capsule (as a router and not a bridge) blocks me from accessing my home security DVR from the internet. I can access it from other computers connected to my LAN but not from the internet. I guess it's a firewall setting issue. I can't add the home security application to the list of firewall allowed incoming connections since it's a Windows app that I cannot install on my Mac. On the other hand, the app is installed on my old PC but I can't access the Mac firwall settings from the PC and add the security app (If that's the problem).
My DVR is connected to a Netgear switch which is connected to the Time Capsule which is connected to a Cisco modem provided by Comcast. I thought one of the modem ports had to be opened by Comcast. That was not the issue. After spending 2 hours on the phone with Comcast going in circles talking to 10 different overseas agents, they concluded the Netgear switch was blocking me from accessing the DVR. I think they are wrong and that it's a Mac firewall problem. HELP!!! Does anyone know what could be the problem and how to solve it?Did you forward the required ports in the TIme Capsule? If not it won't work.. it has nothing to do with firewall unless the DVR is plugged into the Mac. If it is plugged into a switch you need to lock the IP of the DVR and find out what ports are required.. usually just port 80, ie html.. but it could be some others.
Since Apple do not use upnp to open ports.. the TC will have to manually be provided with the ports.. Apple use PMP-NAT that is not used by the rest of the known world.. Just to ensure you stay in the camp. -

Get info then check permissions then add your curent user name (it was probably different on old Mac) and give your username full read/write permissions.

I have a new iphoto folder on my laptop so I don't want to lose my current photos. I just want to add more.Do the following:
rename the old library to something other that iPhoto Library.
copy the library to the Pictures folder on your new laptop.
launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and select the old library to open it and convert it to the newer version.
Note: if the older version of iPhoto was iPhoto 7 (08) or earlier you'll need to download and run the iPhoto Library Upgrader 1.1 on it before opening with iPhoto on your new laptop.
If you want to merge the two libraries into one library and keep the edited versions, keywords, titles, etc. you'll need to use the paid version of iPhoto Library Manager to do the merging. -

If you have a copy of the photos that are in zenfolio on your computer, then you can upload them from there to revel. If you do not have other copies, then you will need to download the files from zenfolio to your hard drive and then upload them to revel. There is not an interface between zenfolio and revel to do this directly.

What a crappy design. This is where Android is so much better. It seems to me like you have no control over your iPhone. It does whatever Apple has designed it to do without asking you first. On Android you can actually go in see all folders, document files, photo files etc and you have so much more control of everything. Apple s..cks!

I use my iPad to get the address book backed up by iCloud from my iPhone. However, I cannot see the recent new contacts from my iPad. Is there anyway to check the iCloud server to see if my address book backup from my iPhone is still there?

How can I access my iPhone 5 videos that I record?
I took a couple of videos, including one long video (about 30 minutes) to test the quality and it was wonderful! The problem is that I can't do anything with them. They are (obviously) too large to send to people via things like email. I tried connecting it to my computer via usb to put the files onto my computer (my preferred method of dealing with files) but the video files were not there at all.
From my computer, there was really only one available path of folders and it took me to my camera roll where I could transfer/copy/save all my photos to my pc (which is great because I have taken many nice pictures). The videos, which were also stored on my phones camera roll were not visible in the folder at all (though the folder properties indicated it was 5GB large as if to say it did have the videos).
So my question is basically: how can I access my videos (and ideally get them onto my computer)?
Other details: I do not own a Mac and my iPhone is my only Apple Product.I Figured it out!!!!
My solution was to download the new iTunes and here is why I think it worked:
I tried to download the old iPhone explorer thing to search for the file and it required iTunes, which I didn't have. I was running Vista because I had to reset my pc to factory defaults (poor old PC haha. if only I had money for a new one). I don't like iTunes at all so I never bothered with it. Anyway, I started downloading the new version of iTunes (10.something) and about 1/8th of the way through the install, my pc started installing driver software on its own. It turned out it was installing drivers for my iPhone 5 (this occurred 1/8th of the way through right after iTunes installed some Apple components stuff for PCs) and this time, when I looked in the phone's folder for its data, my 30 minute video was there !!! So I think what was needed was a driver on my PC for my phone which for some reason didn't install until I got some Apple components (which was the first part of the iTunes install).
Thank goodness I don't need to touch iTunes and thank goodness it works! It is truly a wonderful phone and hopefully this will offer another solution to finding those pesky large video files (or large video file) that won't open up in the explorer.
