How can I add a Smart object (button) to a quiz background and have it work?
Good day,
I have the need to add button to a quiz (in Captivate 6) to allow people to leave the quiz and go back to the start page.
I realize you cant add a normal button to quiz, so I added a smart object converted to a button on the master page. I have it all set up to go to the page, mouse over shows hand and all of that.
the Captivate runs, I get to the quiz, mouse over it changes to a hand. I click and it does nothing. Any ideas why?? Any suggestions on how to do what I want?

I always look to your blog for help. This time unfortunately it didnt help me.
as I expressed above all I am trying to do is create a button that will do a jump to page with in a quiz.
I have some long quizes in the captivate projects that I create. Once a person starts a quiz they might realize it is a bit more than they are ready for. I am just trying to give them a way to click a buttong to get out of the quiz and back to a certain page.
On the master page for the quiz, I created a smart object (rectangle) that is converted to a button it is also transparent and goes over top of a graphic for the button.
I tell it to go to the correct page, and I set it up so that when you mouse over the smart object it shows a hand
When I go to preview this, I mouse over the graphic and get the hand icon, but when I click it goes no where. It seems to me that the quiz is waitting for an answer before it will accept the click. The catch is when I give the answer it forgets click and moves on the the next question.
Any thoughts?

I have one playlist on iphone4. how can i add new playlist without deleting old one. i do not have old playlist in itunes any more.When i try to sync iphone with itunes it says that this action will remove my old playlist and all songs.

Are you connecting to a different iTunes library than you normally connect to? That will erase the songs and playlists since the iPhone can't be connected to multiple libraries even if it is in manual sync mode.
If you no longer have access to the original library that your iPhone calls 'home', then the only way to save the playlist (and the songs on your iPhone) would be to use a 3rd party application to extract your iPhone contents to this new iTunes library you're trying to connect to. -

the form clicks the save button on each page.( it is a 12 page fillable form )
The only thing I was able to do was add a button that opens a Save As
dialog box only.

How can I add my smart tv to my mac network?
I recently bought a Mod.# 470 SV LED tv from Vizio. It is set up in my wireless network but I cannot use it to display or mirror my MacBook (13" early 2008), except for Netflix and a few other things that came canned on the tv (smart tv). I understand I can hook it up to an HDMI cable and get it to work but I am hopeing that I can do it wireless. I also heard that if I used an Apple TV and eventually get the next OS (mountain Lion), I will be able to do it wirelessly. I would also hope that I will be able to get my audio to work. Any pointers, hints, advice or rebukes will be greatly appreciated. Please keep it simple for I am barely literate at this stuff. Thanks much.

How can I duplicate a smart object and then edit it, without affecting the original?
I have a vector element from illustrator that I am placing in a tshirt mockup in photoshop. I have the layout essentially how I would like, but I am trying different color variations. I would think to just duplicate the first placement and then edit the color of the resulting copy, but this affects both the copy and the original. I looked into it a bit further, and found that I should try the "replace contents" option under smart objects, and that this would change the copy. So I go back to illustrator, made a copy of the original vector, and then made the color change I had in mind, and then saved it as a separate document that I could then use in replacing the contents of the copied. This however, is still affecting both smart objects!
I have tried this as both linked smart objects and embedded smart objects without success.
Ultimately, I simply want to maintain the position of the original layer with the duplicated and edited layers. If you know of a better way, please share!I'm on CC on a Mac.
What 21 is talking about is making some sense.
I am able to create new smart object via copy, then create a variation on the original file linked in the parent smart object. Then I save that from illustrator with a different file name. Then I go back to photoshop and replace contents of the new smart object, linking it to the newer illustrator file.
This gets around the problem, but it takes a few more steps than the same thing did it in earlier versions of photoshop. -

I put this button into a new JPanel, but it is displayed veeery BIG !
I tried to use .setPreferredSize(new Dimension(int, int)), but it didn't help a lot.

as far as I understood there is no way to shrink the
new JPanel with this GridLayout.Yes, Grid just makes a set of fixed sized boxes. If you want the JPanel to be the same size as the JButton, what do you want the panel for? -
How can you get around Smart Mix limit of foreground or background?
I am having trouble dealing with this limit, when I would like to have three levels of audio. Highest Narration track , then Audio 1, then soundtrack.
I wonder if a solution whould be to have just the audio and narration and then make a new AVI file. Second step would be to go back with a new project and make the NEW audio 1 forground and add a sound track as background. Would this also help in making a DVD by a lot of the processing being done in the first step? I just did a 37 min DVD and my XP system took 2 hours to make the DVD. I have 2 HD and 3GB ram.I would suggest a slightly different workflow. First, one can add as many Audio Tracks, as are needed. I think there is a limit, but it's way up there.
Next, instead of using Smart Mix, Keyframe the Volume of each Clip, or each Track*, to provide any necessary attenuation.
*Whether one chooses Clip Volume Keyframes, or Track Volume Keyframes will depend on how they like to work, and on where they might be in the editing process. I like to do my Audio at the very end of the editing process, so that I have all Clips where I want them. I then use the Audio Mixer to add Track Keyframes, raising and lowering the volume, as I see fit. Note: Track Keyframes are just what they sound like - they are located ON the Audio Track, so if one changes Clips on that Track, the changes still apply, just as they were laid down, regardless of Clips. Hint: I find that the default setting for Track Keyframe Frequency is a bit too much, and have adjusted that Frequency down quit a bit. This is done in Edit>Preferences.
As I often use SmartSound's Sonicfire Pro to do full scoring, I will Export/Share an intermediate reference file, and use that to create my Soundtrack, for later Import. Besides Volume Attenuation, SonicFire has some fabulous controls, with almost infinite settings. All other Audio editing is done in my NLE, and then the finished Soundtrack score is added as the very last step, before final Export/Share.

Use the PowerPoint command Insert > Audio > Audio from file, and navigate to where the audio file is located.
If you don't know where the file is located, right-click the track in iTunes and choose Show in Windows Explorer.
Make sure the song you want to use is in MP3 format. If it is in something else, make an MP3 version, per this document:

I have two iTunes libraries (one under my gmail address and one under my work email address). My work laptop is usually how I access my account and in the past 3 months that laptop has had to be replaced twice, causing me to redo my entire library. Each time, the laptop was not deauthorized, of course and I had to go through all that rigamarole. I have all of my music backed up and am able to also retrieve anything purchased over the years from the cloud, but once i get it set up and authorize the laptop to both of the email address accounts, some of the items that are in the gmail library will not play. It says that it cannot locate. At one point, a friend spent a lot of time getting it to finally recognize everything (a lot of that music that said cannot locate was from burned CD's or mp3s downloaded, not purchased from iTunes). So there is that issue and I'm not sure how to fix that.
The other thing is that I would like to have ALL of my items under one iTunes account (my personal gmail) in the event that i no longer work for this company and have no access to that email address as it will be turned off. How can I remove one email and merge all purchases over to the gmail address account?

You can combine the music into a single iTunes collection on a computer. There's many ways to do this. There are some utilities to assist with keeping maximum metadata (ratings, playcount, etc.) but I am not familiar with Windows platform ones to do this, though I am sure a web search of merge iTunes library would uncover some. -

È esse mesmo o meu objectivo. Passo a explicar qual é o objectivo deste desenvolvimento. O que se pretende é que quando um utilizador escreva o código de um artigo numa linha da matrix de um documento de venda o add-on vai ler esse artigo e de seguida consultar uma tabela de utilizador que ja esta criada para validar se esse artigo tem outros artigos associados, e se tiver, entao o addon tem que os escrever nas linhas imediatamente a seguir. Eu queria mesmo, era escrever qual era o artigo e qual a respectiva quantidade. Eu consigo encontrar qual o artigo que o utlizador escreve e qual os artigos associados. O meu problema acontece quando tendo adicionar as novas linhas.
Com o codigo que se segue podes ver que estou a atribuir a uma EditText o codigo do artigo a escrever. O problema é se correr em modo debug consigo ver que a aplicação chega a essa linha
