How can I add working btinternet email accounts?

Hi there
I have looked at threads that seem to be associated with the above however they all seem pretty historic and I wondered if Apple had come up with a solution or if there was a workaround that one of you guru's out there might know.
First off, I am not particularly computer articulate so if you ask me additional questions that require tech info, please be gentle with me!
I have a MacbookAir 13" which I am only just (after two years) beginning to properly utilise. Having set up an iCloud email, and added my Gmail account without any problems, I added my primary account which is a btinternet address and all seemed well.
Very quickly though the bt address stopped working properly and kept asking for my password. I have taken it offline, put it online, deleted it and added it again all with the same results.
Is there any way to have all my addresses in one place other than opening up iCloud, gmail and bt via Safari? I am on Mavericks (if that makes any difference).

Change the name of the computer in the Sharing pane of System Preferences to one that has no spaces, apostrophes, parentheses, or special characters.
If you have a BT Home Hub wireless router or something similar, you may also need to change the computer name in the router's settings as described by vincentfromcork on page 2 of this thread.

Hello riopeltravel, let's solve this mystery! What make & model phone do you have? Also, have you tried deleting the email account off of the phone and re-adding with the username and password? How long have the email accounts stopped working? Keep us posted!

Get someone in the IT department of your university to verify the settings for their email server. It's possible that you overlooked something when setting up the account.

That requires you to enter the configuration correctly. You can find out the configuration for your email from your ISPs website in most cases. Or if you're using Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail you need only Google something like:
"Gmail configuration for Apple Mail" or "Hotmail configuration for Apple Mail" (without the quotes).
That should get you started..

I'm afraid you've posted in the wrong place. This is a technical forum around a particular product called 'SharePoint'. This does talk to Exchange and Outlook in places but we don't specialised in either of those. You should have a look for one of the
generic Outlook support forums or contact your IT department if it's a work related account.

Do you remember the answers to your security questions ? If you do then log into your account on http://appleid.apple.com, select the Password And Security section of your account's page, answer the two questions that show and you can then add a rescue email address : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5620
If you don't remember your answers then you will have to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.

You won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions, you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.
