How can i condense contacts? is their an app for this?

Hi,
I have a new iPhone 4 and i used google sync to pull in all my contacts from gmail and my old blackberry. this left me with seemingly infinite contacts, and many listings for the same names.
Is there an app that would help me consolidate them (or other efficient means of doing this)?

Since you have a MacBook, you can sync contacts with the Address Book on your Mac and clean up or delete any contacts there - followed by creating a backup for the updated contacts in the Address Book on your Mac (File > Export > Address Book Archive) followed by a sync.
The Address Book includes a look for Duplicates option and a merge option for merging duplicate contacts. Much easier to clean up and delete/add contacts with the Address Book on your Mac than with your iPhone.
If you don't currently use the Address Book on your Mac - no contacts are available in the Address Book, before the first sync enter one contact in the Address Book on your Mac. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync for this data, which you want to select. Syncing contacts with the Address Book is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.

Use AIM for Mac and use the Export and Import features.

There is no Flash Player for the iPad. There never was and never will be because Apple doesn't permit it. But Adobe has also changed its mind and no longer distributes Flash for ANY tablet. You're out of luck.

The FamilyBase service is a great service that allows parents to monitor and control their kid's phone usage, including calls, text, picture and video messages, data, contacts and app usage. After I installed ML and setted everthing up, everthing is fine. On my iPhone and iPad as well as on the Mac the contacts are there. Alle contacts with same Name / Email are linked. But some, where name is not 100% matching are not. On iPhone and iPad i can link them manually but this linking is not synced between the devices. Well anyway, this is not a problem. Then i tried to link the respective contacts in Contact App on the Mac. There seems to be no option to do that. How can I link contacts on the Mac?

You have to be a masochist to consciously publish an email address on a site anymore. In a matter of weeks or months, you will get hit with so much spam mail, you won't want to open your inbox.
Use a form-to-email-processing script in PHP, ASP or whatever programming language your server supports. Find one that hides your email address and has good spam prevention built-in. It may take you an entire day to set-up your first contact form but it's worth it. Otherwise, use a service. See links below:

One way would be to e-mail them from yourself to yourself. That would totally avoid the different ID issue.

At the present time, the only way to clear that is to restore the phone as new. Perhaps a future iOS update will give us the option to clear that cache.

I don't think that function is possible with IOS. The only thing I see is you can put the company that the contact is with for clients.

Did you select them to sync in the sync preferences of iTunes?
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Info Tab on the right.
Scroll down to Sync Contacts
Select the contacts from Outlook
Click on the Sync Contacts heading
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes

You can't. Not directly anyway. You might be able to import them to your computer and then sync them to the iPad but there is no way to transfer them over the air or by connecting the two devices with a cable.
