You can add audio files that are in AAC, MP3, WAV, AIFF, Apple Lossless, or Audible.com (.aa) format. If you have unprotected WMA content, iTunes for Windows can convert these files to one of these formats. You can also add video content in QuickTime or MPEG-4 format to iTunes. To learn how to add these files to iTunes follow the steps below.
Open iTunes
From the File menu, choose one of the following choices:
MacAdd to Library
Windows
Add File to Library
Add Folder to Library
Navigate to and select the file or folder that you want to add
If iTunes is set to "Copy files to the iTunes Music folder when adding to library," iTunes will copy all content that is added to the iTunes library to the iTunes Music folder. To adjust this setting or change the location of this folder, go to the Advanced tab in iTunes Preferences.
Once that's done, you can sync the music to your iPad by following this article:

I wonder if we haven't misunderstood what you were asking for. Could it be that you have not a huge file, but just a huge list of names in many small files. If that's the case, you should rather use the following script instead of the previous one.
Since this script does not rename the files, make a backup of your files before running it.

How can I copy or move files with elements 10 organizer ?

since a couple of days I use Elements10 Organizer under Windows 7 Home. Since then Im testing how to come along with the product and it's features. Though I had many good impressions of many functions that work excellent I now have severe problems to organize my workflow. The problem is: I can*t copy or move files or directories with the organizer and worse, I can't find files or directories that where copied, moved or renamed by Windows 7 Explorer even when I import or load the specified directory into the elements10 catalogue again. Off course I understand the elements 10 philosophy to have an image only one time within the data base and to arrange every collecting idea by tags and catagiories. Nevertheless there is a need to have sometimes a copy and also to know where the copy is and to manage it. Right now I find no way to handle these tasks by elements 10 organizer. I am a newbe on photoshop elements.
I would appreciate if there is anybody who knows a solution to me. Thanks and bye, Woenni

I am also having this same exact problem. Only some, and not all of the files on my external hard drive will copy. I get the "No Symbol" when trying to copy or move files.
I am able to duplicate all files. I also can right click on a file and select copy. However on some files, I can't ever paste it (paste doesn't show up or is grayed out), drag it to another folder, or drag-and-copy it to another location or drive.
The files are not locked and I have read and write permissions.
The external that I'm trying to move and copy files from is a FAT32. Could that be a problem? How do I get my files off of this drive?

If the music is on the same computer, import the songs to your iTunes library by dragging them into iTunes or choosing File > Add to Library (Mac) or File > Add File to Library or Add Folder to Library (Windows). At the moment they're both on the external hard drive and also stored on the computer but I'm quickly running out of memory on my iBook G4 so I'd like to only keep them on the external hard drive and, if possible, delete them from my computer's hard drive. At the moment, when the hard drive isn't plugged in a lot of the files won't play and I get the exclamation mark next to the particular song in iTunes, but everything plays fine when the hard drive is plugged in.

Sounds like your files are playing from the external drive already. To check go to iTunes - Preferences - Advanced and check the Media Folder Location. Change it to the external drive if you need to.

Use the PowerPoint command Insert > Audio > Audio from file, and navigate to where the audio file is located.
If you don't know where the file is located, right-click the track in iTunes and choose Show in Windows Explorer.

One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Other free programs are Pod Player, SharePod and Floola and iDump andiPodRobot.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
iPodRip also has the feature enabling you to reconstruct playlists.
There is also CopyTrans. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.

I have changed some music file information (such as Album, Artist, etc) of mp3 files in iPad from iTune in MacBook. Of course, the iPad was connected to the MacBook. However after I disconnected the iPad from the Mac, those changes were not shown in the iPad (edited album name, artist name...). When I connect the iPad to the Mac again, I can see the changes in iTune in the Mac.
