How can I create a PDF with cad layers visible and switchable?

I am producing CAD drawings in Vectorworks 2013 on a Mac OS X 10.6.8. I can export these as Autocad .dwg files and read them in E-Drawings viewer but do not have Autocad. I want to create a PDF of a drawing for a client to use which will display Vectorworks classes (Autocad layers) and they will be able to turn these classes (layers) on and off. I understand the client has received such files from other parties (probably using Autocad).

Try exporting any other word file to PDF and check if this could be a document specific issue.

I need to write a script that takes my input data and creates a PDF file that has flowing columns - that is to say, where I give it a long chunk of text and that text is automatically broken into two columns where the text flows down column 1 and when it hits the bottom of the page it starts filling up column 2. I've been playing with enscript and pstopdf and they can do that, the problem is that I also need some sections of the PDF that aren't in 2 columns.
I can probably explain this better with an example - assume my long chunk of text is the alphabet, I need my PDF to look like this:

I tried generating an HTML file and converting the HTML to PDF inside Safari, but while the HTML looks good, WebKit drops the ball and forgets about the columns when converting to PDF.
Is there a way to create the document in sections and then somehow combine them into one final document?

I see I forgot some important points, sorry ...
This needs to be part of an automated process, the data will be different each time which makes it difficult to calculate how much will fit in a given column on a specific page.
The machine doing the processing does not have Microsoft Office on it, but I could install Open Office for sure and possibly Pages, although I don't know their scripting languages so I'm not sure whether that would take more time than I have ...

How can I create a PDF with embedded fonts (not a subset of the font) from Excel?

I need to create PDF's from Excel spreadsheets. The PDF needs to have embedded fonts but every time I create one it only has a subset of the embedded font. I have tried setting preferences in the Acrobat add in (unchecked the "Subset Embedded Fonts" option and also tried with the Subset Embedded Fonts checked but the percentage set to only 1% in an attempt to force full font to be embedded.)
I also tried opening the resulting PDF with Acrobat Pro XI but could not figure out how to add the font in.
A method to accomplish the results from either tool would be great.

Unless you can add those fonts to your system via the Font book and then substitute them in iPhoto, you'll have to either user the available fonts or create your own pages, 8.5 x 11, in an image editor like Photoshop Elements and use them on pages that are one photo per page. Other's have done that with some success.
If you has PS or PSE create an 8.5 x 11" canvas at 300 dpi. Then you can add your photos, add text (if PS can use the text), and create your own layout.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. How can i create an album with chose category list and next/previous button

hello guys im working on a project for my uni i finished the whole website but one thing is missing
i need to create a photo album with next and previous button, with choosing a category and inside each category i have like 5 pictures and i can change with the next/previous buttons to see another picture of the same category.

thank you for your help.
Actually i have tried to search for a tutorial and i found that one that was very helpful and gave me the half solution. the part i found and it worked with me is the part of the next and previous buttons and moving from an image to another.
SO the part i still need is the list so when i click on a category i get the pictures of the chosen category, I had the idea of create a flash for each category alone and maybe i will be able to add them all together.
But i guess it's too much work and there must be a way where i can make it all in one flash file.
If you have any idea let me know please, thank you again for your help and i'm trying to search for the AS3 image gallery as you told me.

I work for a high school and we have about 12 pdfs that we need parents to read/scroll through, then 10 (different) pages that we want them to print, complete and return to the school. Finally, we want them to see a "Thank you, you have done all you have to do" type screen. We want to make it as user friendly as possible so I was thinking...
Reading pages, 1 at a time with next at bottom.
Click next and it takes them on. When they get to printing pages 1 print button prints all pages we need them to print. Click next, and it takes them to optional print pages.
Click next and it says, thank you.

I assume that all of these PDFs were created in Designer. If so you can add any buttons that you want to appear on every page (Next, Previous) onto the Master page then there is script you can add to the buttons to actual move the pages (xfa.host.pageDown() and xfa.host.pageUp()). The Prin button can be added to the specific page and you can pass the page numbers that you want to print as a parameter to the print command. Lastly when you get to the last page and the click Complete you can display a messageBox with your Thank you message.

How can I create a video with effects (sepia, B&W, Negative, oval or any other shape borders) using my ipad? I would Like to keep a higher res and also be able to shrink it down to email or send in a MMS. Or should I just upload it to my PC and mess with it there? Thats the Problem . . . how many apps do I have to try until I find the one I want? I noticed a few will render the video thus losing its original size. When I went to edit it more in iMovie the video was smaller--not good. And what software do you suggest, Templeton, for the PC? I love the apps because they are easy. I dont have hours to mess around on a software to figure out if its something I want. Im looking for simplicity. Maybe Ill get more into it later. I just want to record simple video of my playing the guitar for self analysis and create a short video for family and friends.

Layer styles let you quickly apply effects to an entire layer. In the Effects panel, you can view a variety of predefined layer styles and apply a style with just a click of the mouse.
Three different layer styles applied to text
The boundaries of the effect are automatically updated when you edit that layer. For example, if you apply a drop shadow style to a text layer, the shadow changes automatically when you edit the text.
Layer styles are cumulative, which means that you can create a complex effect by applying multiple styles to a layer. You can apply one style from each style library per layer. You can also change a layer’s style settings to adjust the final result.
When you apply a style to a layer, a style icon appears to the right of the layer’s name in the Layers panel. Layer styles are linked to the layer contents. When you move or edit the contents of the layer, the effects are modified correspondingly.
Once you choose Layer > Layer Style > Style Settings, you can edit the settings of a layer’s style or apply other style settings or attributes available in the dialog box.
Lighting Angle Specifies the lighting angle at which the effect is applied to the layer.
Drop Shadow
Specifies the distance of a drop shadow from the layer’s content. You can also set the size and opacity with the sliders.
