How can I deauthorize a computer I returned AND iTunes won't let me deauthorize all of my computers for another 10 months?

The title says it all.  I returned a macbook that was authorized and got a macbook air instead.  iTunes will not let me deauthorize all of my computers for another 10 months.  So what am I supposed to do?

Only Support can help you, though I have no idea whether they will.
Go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; click 'See all products and services' at the bottom of the page. In the next page select 'iTunes', and then 'iTunes Store', then 'Account', then 'iTunes authorisation or de-authorisation'.

  • New computer and itunes won't let me access all of my iphone [computer has been authorized]

Hello, community! I hope that someone is able to assist me.
So, base of the issue: I recently got a new computer [I went from a Mac to a PC - loved my mac, but it was falling apart after a good eight years and a new one is way too expensive] and I downloaded itunes. I do still have my iphone, and I connected it to my new computer hoping to update some apps and transfer pictures and back it up and what not.
First thing I did was authorize the computer. On both accounts - I have on in Japan and one from the US (Iphone is from Japan, where I currently live). When I synced my phone, half of the apps are available to adjust (i.e remove or update). Really random ones, too. For example, there's no correlation between which account downloaded the app and I don't see any paid apps and some free apps. I've also switched between accounts to see if this affects the options - it doesn't change anything.
Also, I want to add/delete music, but I'm completely unable to change anything on my phone - adding or removing. I can view and play the music, but nothing else. Note: When I click the music tab with the phone summary (not the music option in the bar to the left) it asks if I want to sync my entire music library with the iphone.
Also note - itunes is updated.
Thanks in advance for you kind assistance!

Yes... that's the way it works.
You can only sync an iDevice with one computer.
Move or copy all the iTunes content from the old computer (or backup of the old computer) to the new computer.
Then sync the iDevice with the new computer.  It will still wipe the device, but at this point it will not matter because all the content will be on the new computer to sync to the device.

  • How can I get back on my ipod if it won't let me?

I went to get my Ipod and it said to connect it to iTones, it's never done this before, but I have a lock code on it, so everytime I try and plug it in it says I must first enter the password. but it won't let me do so because I can not see anything on the screen but the icon telling me to plug it into iTones! does anyone know what to do???? or am I just S.O.L?

To restore your iPod with iTunes in this situation you need to put it in DFU mode, to do this follow these steps:
    1. Connect iPod to computer
    2. Open iTunes
    3. Power off iPod
    4. Hold down Power and Home buttons at the same time
    5. When the Apple logo appears on the screen release the Power button but continue to hold the Home button until you see the 'Connect to iTunes' screen
after you do this iTunes will prompt you and say that it detects an iPhone/iPod in recovery mode and that is must restore the iPod before it can be used. Click OK and follow whatever steps that appear on the screen.

  • How can I move my sons songs from my iTunes account to his new one we're opening just for him?

my son is building quite a collection on out family's itunes account. We now want him to have his own and move his songs to his new
itunes account. how can this be done?
    Thanks,
    RKB

It can't be done. The most you can do is ask store reps to grant those songs to newly created account, but I see that highly unlikely to be approved. Reason: for store purposes your son does not exist - just two different accounts. If they will start doing that and giving to one customer something that was purchased by another, the DRM companies will sue Apple/Itunes for every penny that was sold by them.

here is link for e-mail contact if you still want to try. Good luck!
P.S. to your second note. You have multiple ways for him to use that music, Just not to move to itunes account.

  • My recently new computer and iTunes won't let me add music to my iPhone. What do I do?

I recently got a new computer. I downloaded iTunes and went to add new music to my iPhone4, but it wouldn't let me add it. When i tried to press "Manually manage music and videos" it told me that since i already synced my iphone to the old computer, i had to erase everything from my iPhone to be able to. I don't want to erase my phone. I'm pretty sure there is another way since people get a new computer everyday, but I don't know how. Help?

Yes... that's the way it works.

  • How can i protect my computer from viruses and malware in China?

I will be in China for work, using my new Macbook, and using a Chinese server to access the internet. What are the best settings to protect my macbook from malware and other scary things?

The OSX already has defenses built in.  Your biggest problem is downloading malware unwittingly.  If you do not know what something is, do not download it.

  • I purchased 2 songs from Alabama and Friends but they aren't showing in my library and iTunes won't let me download again.  How can I get them?

I can't even purchase them again...which I'd be willing to do if I could because I've had to do that in the past.  But I can't even do that now.  I'd like either a credit on my account or a way to get these songs!

    Hey jbendure,
Thanks for the question. Let’s check your purchase history to see if we can redownload these songs from there:

  • Old computer crashed and iTunes won't let me sync my old iPod

My old computer crashed and when I plug my old iPod into my new computer, iTunes asks me if I'd like to erase all the music from the iPod and copy whatever music I have within my new iTunes. I lost a lot of my c.d.'s when I moved, so I don't want to do that. How do I get all my music from my old iPod onto my new computer?

    Hello Justin,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
See this article for instructions on how manually copy the contents of your iPod back over to your new computer. Even though the article mentions Vista and XP, Windows 7 should be similar to Vista.

  • I can only read on my flash drive and it won't let me format it. Please help!

    I'm frustrated.

Some flash drives have a failure mode in which they are irreversibly write-locked by the internal controller when it detects a write error. If the drive doesn't have a write-lock switch (most do not) and you can't erase it in Disk Utility, that's almost certainly what has happened. To be sure, test it with another computer, if possible.

  • I am locked out of my phone because I forgot my password and iTunes won't let me connect and I can't get a serial number from the ohone because it's locked.

I had forgotten my passcode on my phone and finally it said that my iPhone was disabled and that it needed to be connected to iTunes. Well for it to connect to iTunes it needed for me to respond on my iPhone but my iPhone is disabled! I'm so frustrated. And I can't get to the serial number because it's locked so I can't get ahold of Apple.
