  • Re-opening most recent files/web sites--how can i disable this?

    when I close a window and then reopen it, or when i log out and then log back in, the most recent thing I was looking at from before immediately pops open.  That is not necessarily the way I would like it to work--didn't do that with Snow L.  How can I disable this?

    In System Preferences > General > uncheck Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps.
    Note that this preference affects all apps.

    Hi [email protected]
    If you have set Google to be your homepage, that should be the first one to appear. Are you seeing the Firefox home page when you open new tabs? New tabs should be blank by default. The only reason I've seen Firefox open new tabs with Firefox data on it is after an upgrade of the product.

    Hello tock172,
    The only way I have found to stop that popup is to disable the HP QuickLaunch VolumeDisplay from the Microsoft Configuration Utility, But it will also disable the Clicking sound (I Think) ...
    Click Start > Type "MSCONFIG" in Start Search > Click MSCONFIG in the Programs List
    Then Click on the Startup Tab and then uncheck the item for HPVOLUMEDISPLAY (forget the exact name) then click on APPLY then CLOSE and Restart

  • When I click on Firefox, the page comes up as "work offline" and I have to uncheck this option under "File" before I can get on line. How can I disable this automatic start option "work offline"?

    Firefox starts up "Work offline" and I am notified "Having trouble loading page." I am then advised to "uncheck" the "work offline" option and "retry" getting connected to the internet. I would like Firefox 4 to automatically come up as a Browser on line, just as 3.6 did. How can I achieve this goal? Is there a way to disable the automatic "offline" start-up?

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode
    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
    In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in <u>[[Safe mode]]</u>:
    * Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)

    Do it thru its action:
    //Deactivate a button disabling its action
    //You can see it but clicking it does nothing
    wdGetACTION_NAMEAction().setEnabled(false);
    //Get it's funcionality back
    wdGetACTION_NAMEAction().setEnabled(true);
    Or you could hide it using an attribute of type WDVisibility binded to its visible property.
    //Hide it
    wdContext.currentContextElement.setATTRIBUTE(WDVisibility.NONE);
    //and Show it
    wdContext.currentContextElement.setATTRIBUTE(WDVisibility.VISIBLE);
    Regards.

  • How can I disable back button

    How can I disable the back button and/or prevent the back button displaying my recent searches on right click ?

    Set the pref <b>browser.sessionhistory.max_entries</b> to 0 on the <b>about:config</b> page.
    To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
    If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />

  • Openning a disk file places a lock on it. How can I disable this?

    <blockquote>Locking duplicate thread.<br>

    Opening a local, disk resident HTML file in Firefox places a lock on it. When I try to delete it before closing it in Firefox, I get an "Access denied..." message.
    How can I disable such a lock placement?

    A couple of other possibilities:
    The CD is dirty / damaged / suffering from "CD Rot" - sometimes CDs may seem to play fine on a CD player (or using the CD-player function of a PC) but will not transfer correctly to a computer - this is the result of the way that CD players auto-correct the datastream from the CD where PCs, when reading the audio CD as data, do not.
    Enabling the error correction function in iTunes import may alleviate if not fully resolve this
    Use an alternate tool to extract the audio from the CD - Exact Audio Copy is probably the best out there, as it can be configured to attempt multiple reads of every audio sample on a CD to get a consistent result.  Then import the resulting files into iTunes.
    You don't say whether this is specific to one CD as in the original poster's case, but the "crackling" symptom has affected a significant number of users of the 64-bit version of iTunes 12.1.0.71 - these are mostly addressed in the most recent update (12.1.1.4), but if nothing else works it may be worth trying this alternative installer: iTunes 12.1.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)

  • Drafts auto delete: how can I disable this?

    I periodically get a message that Ff has auto deleted x drafts. How does Ff choose drafts to delete? How can I disable auto delete?

    (Please update to Firefox 22 [[Update Firefox to the latest version]])
    Drafts of? If you mean emails, Firefox doesn't delete your drafts. This may however be a feature of your webmail. This isn't the fault of Firefox, just something your webhost does on their own.

  • Since updating Firefox as suggested, when I 'save as' a jpeg, it automatically finds the folder and it's always the wrong folder. How can I disable this feature and go back to the original mode where it remains in the folder I choose until I change it?

    For example, I saved a jpeg named 'picasso the guitarist'. I have folders titled A to Z. When I click 'save as' it might open the 'K' folder and I have to manually search the 'P' folder for 'Picasso' and save file. The most irritating thing is, when I 'save as' another jpeg of say 'pieter mother & child' it goes to another folder and does not remain in the 'P' folder, rather it goes to the 'X' folder or some other. This didn't happen before the last upgrade. Can I disable this new 'help' feature that is taking more time than the old version?

    Current Firefox versions remember the download directory based upon the URL, so if the URL changes then the default folder may be chosen if there hasn't been selected a download folder before for that server.
