  • How can I convert web page to PDF? When I upgraded to 4, it does not work.

    Since I upgraded to firefox 4 I can not convert web page to PDF, before there was a place in the upper left corner that said convert to PDF. If there is not a way to do this in 4 then how can I go back to the old firefox. If I can't I guess I will just uninstall FireFox.

    Yes, many sites need JavaScript to be enabled to work properly.<br /><br />
    This site will most likely not work and in the Knowledge Base you see the content for all Firefox versions and platforms.<br />
    So you shouldn't disable JavaScript globally, but you can do that selectively on a specific tab or based on websites.

  • How can I get web page to retain button count values

    Hi,
    I have a button which, each time it is pressed increments a
    number. The number is shown in a text box. This all works fine, on
    my web page. However if I close the web page and then reopen it,
    the count number goes back to zero. How can I keep the number it
    was (eg 10) and keep incrementing it ?
    I have the button on Frame 1 and the text box on Frame 2.
    Thanks,

    You will need to use Shared Object to store the info on user
    drive.
    It is Flash's native form of cookies and works locally (from
    exe projector)
    as well as in browser.

  • How can I save web pages in .txt format?

    I often want to save information I find online so I can look at it later. When I open the 'file; save as' box, it offers me four options, one of which is text files. but no matter which option I choose, it always saves as a web page. I just want the basic text, in .txt format. How can I get it to do this?

    You should see the option for ''' "Text Files" ''' when going to save a web page, in addition to Web Page, complete and Web Page, HTML only - but that is probably going to have a lot more than just the pure text of that web page.
    This should work better, but you might miss some of what appears to be "text" when viewing the web page. <br />
    {Ctrl + A} to highlight the entire web page, then {Ctrl + C} to copy everything that is highlighted to the Clipboard. Then Paste the contents of the Clipboard into a Text Editor program, then use {Ctrl + S} to bring up the Save As... dialog. Name that file and make sure you include '''.txt'''.

  • How can I change web page dock icon?

    I have dragged a couple of my favorite web pages to the dock, so I can access them quickly. Both icons look the same --- the gray @ on top of a spring. Is there a way to change these so I can tell them apart more easily? With only two, I can remember which is which, but as I add more, it will be more confusing. Thanks.

    Right, so it looks like you opened the Info window for the generic URL link icon.
    Unfortunately, you can't simply make it the CNN (or whatever web site) icon. You have to find another distinguishing icon. There are web sites where you can download Mac icons. You have to find an icon you like that, for you, will represent that web site link you want to put in your Dock.
    http://interfacelift.com/icons-mac/
    http://iconfactory.com/home
    and some more here
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/icons_screensavers/
    When you find that icon, do a Get Info on that icon file like you did earlier for the URL link file. Put the two Info windows side by side. On the Info window with the icon you like, click on the icon at the top of the window so that it has a thin blue line around it. Copy it, using File -> Copy or cmd-c on the keyboard. Now click on the icon you don't want in the other Into window so that it has a thin blue line around it. Paste it, using File -> Paste or cmd-v on the keyboard. The icon should change to the one you want. If you then drag it (the file with new icon) to the Dock, it will appear as the icon you liked and selected.

  • How can i transfer web page to desk top icon

    unable to set a web page on my desk top so i can pull up

    Hello,
    # You can click and drag the site identity button (padlock or globe icon to the left of the web link on your address bar) to your desktop.
    # Another way is to copy the web address, right click on your desktop and select New > Shortcut, and paste the web address in the box for the "location of the item".
    # A third way is to create another Firefox/Internet Explorer/Chrome/etc shortcut on your desktop, right click the shortcut and select properties. Under the Shortcut tab, paste the web address after the ".exe" part of the target line.

  • How can I print web pages with HP psc 2175 printer?

    Hi,
    I'm having difficulty printing web pages with my HP psc 2175 printer. The printer spits out many pages before the actual page I want printed and then at times it doesn't print all of the section desired.
    In fact, when I copied one page the other day, saved it as a pdf file to my computer, opened the file and the document still would not print.
    Anyone have any idea what could be happening?

    I have a strange issue - I am also using HP Envy 100 410A and its prints fine from iPad2. But when I try to print from my Gen 1 iPad, it goes thru the motions (shows the printer, allows to select which pages to print, double sided print etc.) but the printing actually doesn't hapen.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

  • How can I view web pages in Segoe UI *Light*, please?

    I am looking for a way to make the Segoe UI Light font available to the Options dialogue in Firefox. I am already using this attractive font in Thunderbird.

    To Firefox, Segoe UI and Segoe UI Light are the same font family. The former is used for normal weight, while the latter is used for lighter weight.
    * https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/CSS/font-weight
    1. Install the Stylish add-on.
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/stylish/
    2. If you want to ignore fonts specified by web pages and use Segoe UI Light for all elements if possible, paste the following in a new style and save it.
    <pre><nowiki>@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);
    @-moz-document url-prefix("http") {
    font-family: "Segoe UI" !important;
    font-weight: 300 !important;
    }</nowiki></pre>
    3. If you only want to use Segoe UI Light when the web page doesn't specify a particular font (e.g. Wikipedia), use the same style as above, but delete both instances of '''!important'''

  • How can I disable web/data access during certain hours?

    I have added a feature to my wireless account restricting my daughter's text/data/surfing access during evening hours.  I thought I was pretty clever and assumed she would only have access to her music on her iPhone.  Turns out she can still access all she wants using our home WIFI so my sceme is rendered useless.  Other than confiscating her phone each evening, does anyone know how I can restrict wifi on her phone during certain hours?
    Also, does anyone have a nano?  Thinking she could use that for music and to set her alarm, but I don't think the nano has an alarm function.
    Thanks for your input!

    No way to restrict it during certain hours. You can restrict it always, or never. Parental supervision is one solution. It's a losing battle to try to outwit children. It's better to require trust, with consequences if trust is breached.

  • How can I disable the automatic hiding of known file attachments, and why are always about 10 internet pages where I have to download something if i use firefo

    How can I disable the automatic hiding of known file attachments, and why are always about 10 internet pages where I have to download something when I use mozila firefox?
    Windows Computer

    1) If you are talking about the file names on the computer, there is a
    setting to turn off known file types. Open your file browser. Then
    just under the location bar, press '''Tools,''' then '''Folder Options.'''
    A new window will open. Select '''View.''' Look for
    '''Hide Extensions For Known File Types.'''
    2) Never NEVER '''NEVER''' download anything unless you know what
    it is. If a web site claims it needs to download something, what is it?
    It could be something like the flash player, '''or a virus ! !'''

  • How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application witth just a JRE [Web Application, WAR, JSP, weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds and JRE]

              How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application (either a .war file or a war directory structure) without a java compiler?
              I suspect either the JSP specification is flawed (i.e. it doesn't take account of servers using just a JRE), or BEA's implementation is broken.
              Production servers do not have a JDK installed. They only have a JRE. Therfore a java compiler is not present on the machine that the Web Application is deployed onto.
              On the development machine, when the server is requested to load the JSP it creates a tmpwar directory within the Web Application directory structure. This is then included in the resultant .war file thus:
              D:\war>jar -tf gmi.war
              META-INF/
              META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
              gmiService.jsp
              WEB-INF/
              WEB-INF/classes/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/gmiService.class
              WEB-INF/getList.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByConnection.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByDistrict.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByDistrictConnection.xsl
              WEB-INF/lib/
              WEB-INF/source/
              WEB-INF/source/build.bat
              WEB-INF/source/gmiService.java
              WEB-INF/web.xml
              WEB-INF/weblogic.xml
              tmpwar/
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.class
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.java
              When deployed on the production server with the web.xml file set to use the following values (note XML stripped):
              weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds
              -1
              weblogic.jsp.precompile
              false
              weblogic.jsp.compileCommand
              javac
              weblogic.jsp.verbose
              true
              weblogic.jsp.packagePrefix
              jsp_servlet
              weblogic.jsp.keepgenerated
              false
              And in the weblogic.properties file:
              weblogic.httpd.webApp.gmi=war/gmi
              I've also tried with the .war file, but that insists on creating another tmpwar directory outside of the .war file.
              Then, although I have set pageCheckSeconds to -1 (don't check and don't recompile) ter production server still attempts to recompile the JSP's:
              Mon Sep 25 11:40:11 BST 2000:<I> <WebAppServletContext-gmi> *.jsp: init

    The default Java compiler from sun lives in the tools.jar that comes with
              the JDK. Just add that to your set of JARs which are deployed in production
              and you should be fine. No need to install the full JDK - just make the
              tools.jar available to WebLogic.
