How can I download Firefox when it keeps telling me to close Firefox before downloading?

I have tried both 'run' and 'save' with the same results.
I have checked to make sure there are no Mozilla or Firefox running in the background.
I had Firefox running fine 2 days ago - it has always been my primary search engine.
I am running Windows Vista on a Dell Inspiron.

yes I am. windows isn't giving me any prompts other than the original one authorizing firefox to run the installation program before the download starts then part way into the download firefox asks me to reboot so the download it starting then it tells me I can't finish the download because I have to reboot because of a previous uninstall that needs to complete so when I reboot it should finish the installation but it doesn't and then when I try the download again I get the same thing again like it's stuck in a loop

You can go to c:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\ (or whatever your installation is) and create a shortcut for firefox.exe to your start menu or desktop

I went to delete websearch function and deleted firefox by accident. I could not bring firefox back up so I deleted the program to try to just reload and now it won't allow me to download it again. It keep's saying that Firefox is still running and that I have to close it and it is not open.

Internet Explorer, or firefox both will offer to make themselves the default browser, and there may be some actions that are not possible or very dificult in firefox. I do not recall Windows itself preventing me from using firefox, other than because of firewall action.
Possibly now security settings or software is blocking firefox downloads on your machine. When you do download firefox you may then discover it is blocked from running the installer, until you revise security settings.

You can start by checking the Home page setting to see if that still links to the Google Home page (http://www.google.com/firefox)

You can also check the startup setting just above the home page setting.
If the home page setting isn't correct and changing it doesn't last if you close and reopen Firefox then you need to check if the file [http://kb.mozillazine.org/prefs.js_file prefs.js] in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] isn't corrupted.

I am trying to download a trial of Photoshop and it keeps getting to 42% and then keeps giving me this message:

When I began the download I did have Lightroom open and closed the program upon first receipt of this message. Clicked retry and continually receive this message.

While you really can't make a mono track true stereo, you can make it play to both left and right channels. Pan the track to center (0), or you can duplicate the track and pan one copy left (-1) and the other right (1) ... or select both tracks in the Timeline (original and copy) and hit Option l (lowercase L) to make them a stereo pair.

I am able to open PDFs from the Internet normally using the Adobe Reader X plugin, but for some reason, it doesn't kick in when I open local PDF files.
I am using Firefox 4.0.1 and Adobe Reader X.

Do you have any graphics editing software like photoshop or something similar.?
Surely you can just open both images, resize the image you want to add, then copy and paste it into the main image. Save this as a new file and set it as the background.
If you need a graphics editing program you can download one called The Gimp for free. Just make sure you have X11 installed.

I had someone go into the css I believe, and make it so there were no borders visible on the page (I could see the dotted outline while working on it, but when pushed, it wasn't visible (which is what I wanted). They called it "noborders." Since I had to reinstall, it went away. Help?
