Unless you set up MobileMe / Find My iPad on it before it was lost/stolen, then there isn't any way to locate it. If you did set up MobileMe on it then you could try locating it either via me.com on a computer or Find My iPhone / Find My iPad on a another device - but that will only work if it's connected to a network and the device hasn't already been wiped and/or MobileMe disabled on it.
If you think that it was stolen then you should report it to the police. As a safety precaution you should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.

It will only show if the device is turned on. And if someone else has it, they can turn that feature off. Your best options are to return to the location where you think you lost it, and see if anyone returned it. Also contact your local law enforcement.

You might try restoring a backup of your bookmarks.
1. From the menu at the top of the Firefox window bar, click the Bookmarks menu and choose Organize Bookmarks to open the Library window.

1) the iPhone is connected to the internet (be it by way of Wifi OR data); and
2) you have previously activated the feature.
Then again, even if the above conditions are true, you will most probably only get the rough location of the phone and not the "exact" location of it.For instance, if the iPhone is in a high rise building with 60 floors, you will only know it is in the building but never which floor it is.

As I said, and Varjak said, if it is setup in iCloud, login to iCloud from your comptuier or other device, click on Find My and find the entry for the iPod, and if it is turned on and connected to the internet it will show up.
