How can I get a refund for an app that did not download/do not now want
I decided to buy an app that cost £39.99. It did not download & still has not 24 hours later. Meanwhile iTunes have emailed a receipt for the payment. I have clicked on Report a Problem on the receipt but it does not lead anywhere. Suggestions please.
Once you buy it you have bought it and Apple generally does not do refunds. You can ask but it will have to be an exception.

What can be done is try to redownload the app.

Did you buy the app from App Store? Did you check if your machine is capable of running this app?
You should first set up a dialogue with the developer to try to determine what may have caused the problem. Most developers co-operate with their clients, not least because it is in their interests to do so.
Sales from Apple are final and refunds are not the rule. However, if you raise the issue against the receipt, (there is a note on the bottom inviting you to raise any issues you may have) exceptions have been made if the circumstances justify it.

Look under the Store menu in iTunes for the "Check for available downloads" command and run that. You may find the track there to be downloaded.
If not, contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department from their Support page (click "Contact Support" and follow the instructions to get to the contact form) and explain the problem to them.

Refunds on downloaded software are virtually nonexistent.
I have had cases where I purchase software on a physical disk. If I don't like the software I can uninstall it from my computer and sell it legally. Recouping most of my loss. -
I accidentally downloaded a paid app, while laying down on my sofa and while fighting to stay awake. But I fell asleep and woke up just in time to see me press "Yes" on the "Are you sure" question (at least the way I remember it).

Recently downloaded an app for my iPod Touch. It said it was compatible, but when I try to open the app, my screen goes blank for 3-5 seconds and then goes back to the menu page. After reading further reviews of this app, several people are having the exact same problem. I reported the issue to both Apple and the app manufacturer, but did not receive a response from either. Apple then proceeded to charge my credit card as usual.
The amount of the money ($3) is not significant, however, I feel that Apple should have a reliable way for customers to report problems with the apps they download and are being charged for. I realize I could simply contact my credit card company and have the charge disputed, but there should be a way to deal with Apple directly on this.
Does anyone have any input or experience with this?
Thanks!Yes, I reported the problem using that exact sequence immediately after discovering the problem with the app. When I submitted my complaint and request, Apple redirected me the website of the app manufacturer where I submitted the same complaint/request for refund. I have not heard back from either, and was still charged, so I can only assume that is not the correct way to "Report a Problem" even though Apple would have you believe otherwise.

I just purchased a Dictionary app from Palm's App Catalog, the product is listed as: English Dictionary and Thesarus by Ultralingua, Inc. and it was not something that was advertised correctly and hence is not something that I want.
It costs a whopping $9.99 and if it was as advertised, it would have been worth the money but it is not.
I've had Dictionaries on my Palm Devices so when I saw the first directory for the WebOs for use on Pre, I immediately got it.
However, unlike my old Palm dictionaries, this dictionary requires you to have a network connection. Something that is not useful for me. I sometimes like to look up word while on the subway to work (I live in NYC) where this is no network connection.
There was nothing in the description that said it 'required' a network connection, and considering that all of the dictionaries I have gotten in the past did not require a network connection, I assumed (since it didn't state anything) that I could use it off-line.
Heck, since you are required to use this dictionary online, I might as well use google to lookup a word and that is free!
So I believe I was tricked into getting this app, and I want a refund!
And there doesn't seem to be a way to get a refund for an app that did not disclose it's requirements before I made my purchase.

Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)Palm does have the ability to remove apps remotely, that was added in the last update.
I knew that would be Palm's response, but I earn you now, Palm better make sure they put a better description on these apps. And in this case its Palm's fault for not disclosing that this app required network support in order to work.
They should at least make that part of a feature description.
This is the second app that I purchased that was not advertised correctly. So I far I have spent good money on crap only because the descriptions did not contain the right info.
I see the only solution is to make all apps have at least a one hour free trail, or whatever free trial you want.
I and I'm sure I'm not alone can't keep purchasing stuff that either doesn't work as advertised or is misleading in the description.
I mean really Palm, you approved a dictionary app that just does a google in the background and displays the definition.
I can do that same thing by typing it on my Pre and hitting Google?
I still feel cheated and ripped off.
I signed up for Palm and WebOS because I wanted to give you a second chance but that love only goes so far. I think Andriod will be in my life soon. I can't stand by and let myself be taken advantage of.

How can I get a refund from an app that I bought? I bought an app called Package for MS Office on the 8th of January and I also reported a problem and they have not got back to me with a response. It has been 3 weeks now and I am still waiting for a reply back. Very disappointed.
I have now got an openoffice which I got from the internet. But the main thing is I paid £20.99 for this app and It is irriatting that the people who work for apple havent got back to me when I first reported a problem. I reported to them again and hoping that they will eventually get back to me.

My kids downloaded an extension of an app, made for kids, that cost $100. They thought it was free, until I got the bill. How can I get a refund for this and remove the app? This is wrong on so many levels, beginning with having a free app for kids luring them to a ridiculously priced one. Any help is appreciated.
You posted in the Mac computer OS X Tiger 10.4 forum. You don't provide enough info. Was this an iPad app, iPhone app, an iPod app purchased from the iTunes store? Or an app purchased from another source?
The remedy - don't give your kids the password and answer to security questions.
If purchased from the iTunes store, there's a link on the invoice.
