How can I get EVERY music file on my iPod onto my new Mac, not just the songs purchased off of the iTunes store?

So I've got an iPod classic with songs on it from the iTunes store, from CDs of my own, from free online playlists, etc. and when I plug it into my new Mac laptop the only songs that show up on iTunes are the ones I actually purchased in the iTunes store with my old computer (not a Mac). How can I copy ALL the music on my iPod onto my new Mac?

How can I get my music from a digital book onto my MAC?

I purchased an album from iTunes using my iPad and now that I want to add it to my daughter's Nook from Mac its not giving me the music to download only the Digital book. How can I get my music and add to my library?

It sounds to me like the option to "copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" was turned off in the iTunes -> Advanced preferences when you added the tracks from the flash drive, so iTunes left them on the flash drive rather than copying them to your computer's hard drive. Get Info on any of the tracks and see where iTunes thinks they should be located. If they're pointing to the flash drive, check that preference.
If that is indeed the problem, you'll need to fix the location. You can do this track by track if there aren't too many, but if there are a number of them, it'll be easiest to remove them from the iTunes library, fix the above-mentioned preference, and add the tracks again. Or you can just keep the flash drive connected to your computer, but that's probably not ideal.

How can I get my music files back when they are no longer on the computer?

So the problem I am having is that I cannot play songs on the playlist because "the file cannot be located" error. I checked the iTunes media folder and they weren't there. I searched my whole computer and they still could not be found.
The story behind the problem is that I pretty sure all the songs I am having troubles with were ones I purchased on my iPod Touch itself. Several months ago when I plugged my iPod into the computer so it could sync ( my iPod is old and can't connect to the WiFi anymore forcing me to buy songs on my computer again.) The songs purchased on my iPod showed up on my playlist on my computer but they had the "!" next to them and they were no longer on my iPod and when I tried to get them back on I got the "cannot be located" error. I then checked the iTunes music folder again and the only songs there were songs I purchased on my computer.
I am extremely frustrated. When I go to the iTunes store under "Purchases" they all show up however there is no way for me to download them again onto my computer because the "download" button cannot be clicked on because I am assuming it thinks the songs are already on the computer, but I know they aren't. I tried organizing my songs option and that didn't do anything.
Is there any way to download them again? Or at least tell the iTunes store that they aren't located on my computer anymore so I can download them again?
If I lost hundreds of dollars of music because the iTunes software is a piece a ****...

Just a note of encouragement - I doubt very much you've lost your music - they remember what you've purchased forever and as long as the content is still on the iTunes store you should never loose anything (however sometimes content is removed from the store for various reasons and in that cause if you don't have a local copy on your iTunes library it is not recoverable - but that issue is relatively infrequent) - it's just a question of why iTunes won't let you download it again. good luck...

How can I get back deleted files to my iPod?

First of all, I tried to upgrade my iPod's iOS 4.2.1 to 5. I followed the steps in the following page: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4972. Unfortunately, I unsucceeded as the iOS stayed the same but I lost all of my downloaded music and video files. So, my question is how to restore deleted files? I could get my files back by adding manually them from my computer to iTunes and then to iPod, but the thing is that I've changed my computer and all the music files in my iPod were from my old computer. I've tried to find a solution on my own, but it has been hopeless so far. Please, any kind of help is appreciated!

I also have an ipad 2 with ios 5, a win xp pro, and a win 7, all up to date according to apple, and all settings are on. i have over 4000 songs, but they won't load into my win 7 or ipod. i have home sharing on as well, but nothing yet.

I have a 5th generation Ipod classic that is cracked on the surface but works still on a docking station at home in which I can select the music through my tv. My problem is that certain music and ablums show they are on my itunes but do not play on my computer. The music that i downloaded through itunes on my old iphone has not appeared on my new iphone. I dont have a PC and so cant sync my purchases on itunes through that - what should i do to recover my purchased music???
