How can I get Mail to double-space text?

I've tried everything I can think of to get Mail to display text with double-spaced lines, ie, with blank lines between every line.  (I need to do this to meet submission requirements for my work).  BTW, I'm talking about  a string of up to 60,000 characters including spaces, so some form of copy and paste is the only way I can see to go.  I've tried: (1) pasting duble-spaced text created by Word in a .doc file into mail messages, (2) ditto by TextEdit in an .rtf file that displays and prints doble-spaced, but shows up in Mail single-spaced with things like centering misssing, too, (3) ditto by TextEdit in a .txt file that displays sngle-sapced.    Everything shows up in Mail single-spaced, and I've never been able to find a way within Mail itself to format single-spaced text with space between the lines.  Is this an intrinsic omission?

Why not just use a white fill for fields completed on a computer?

  • How can I get lines to double space?

I have a client who wants a form you can fill in digitally or by hand. We have a signed off design and I'm just in the process of making it editable.
The only issue is they wanted lines in the boxes for the people who fill it in by hand but now these lines right through the middle of the text if you fill it in digitally is there any way I can get the text to be double spaced to sort this?
    Thank You

  • How can I get Mail to capitalise the first letter of a sentence?

    Hello all,
this is my first time using apple Support Community.  i am a new apple user and have just got my first MacBookPro (its wonderful).  however, i am having some difficulties.
How can i get Mail to capitalize the first letter of a sentence and also capitalize 'i' as 'I' automatically?
Also, how can i get apps like Pages to do the same? and for that matter typing into internet sites like this one? look at the lack of automatic punctuation!!
Thank you all for any advice and tips you may have.
    Paul.

I don't think whether it's easier or not is really an issue.  The problem is that all of these wonderful technologies are taking away our understanding of how to communicate in writing.  It's not a matter of being lazy and not "wanting" to do it, but rather getting to a point where many people "can't" do it.
I certainly wasn't pointing any fingers.  I use a calculator (or computer if I happen to be on one at the time) to do the most basic math calculations.  I can be out to lunch with co-workers and we have to pull out a calculator to split a bill 4 ways.  I went through school at a time when calculators were not permitted.  So, at one time, I could have easily done all of that stuff in my head.  So far as math goes, my mind has turned to mush a long time ago.  I doubt I could work my way through a long division problem at this point... even if I sat there and really tried.
Computers were not generally consumer items when I was growing up.  So I didn't grow up in a world with spell checking.  I have certainly grown to use it though and I'm sure my ability to spell properly has diminished somewhat because of it.  I tend to be less careful when typing something out.  If I'm not sure of the spelling on something, I just let my computer either fix it or give me a suggestion for the corrected spelling.  Fortunately, I grew up having to rely on my own ability to spell, so with that foundation, I tend to do fairly well when it comes to spelling.
We're at a point now where systems can correct grammar and sentence structure.  I think all of these are great tools to help us out, but they shouldn't be used to take the place of actually knowing how to do things.  Having said that, I'm fairly sure that is exactly what will happen.  Just as today, I rely almost entirely on some form of electronics for everyday math, I'm sure people growing up today with expert systems able to correct everything will rely on those equally.

  • How can I get mail to address addressees by their first name, first?

I like it that Mail is integrated with Contacts. But when I type a name in the To: section, it is always shown as last name, first name. How can I get Mail to address my friends as Gary Smith, not Smith Gary??

  • How can I get Mail to 'forget' old email addresses?

Several work contacts have recently changed their email addresses, but when I type their names in the To: box in Mail, it brings up both the new and old addresses.
None of these email addresses are in my Address Book, Mail is obviously just picking them up from previous emails I have sent and received  to/from these people.
How can I get Mail to 'forget' these old email addresses and just bring up the current ones?
(I have already accidentally sent emails to the old addresses because they are coming up in the drop-down menu. I would much prefer it to be idiot-proof and not bring the out of date addresses up at all)

  • How can I get Mail for Exchange on my 6720 classic...

The manual says that Mail for Exchange is pre-installed. Yet, I cannot find it where the manual tells it's supposed to be. I updated to the latest fimware version a couple of months ago. So I cannot remember whether Mail for Exchange has been pre-installed before. At the OVi Store Mail for Exchange is not available for the 6720c.
How the heck can I get Mail for Exchange on my phone?

The iWork apps for a Mac and for iOS devices are different, they are different operating systems.
If your iPad was activated after 1st September 2013 (and you are using the same account that was used to activate the iPad) then you should be able to download the apps for free in its App Store app. If it was activate before that date (or you are not using the same account) then you will need to pay to download the apps.

  • How can I get mail not to save sent mail on iphone?

I use yahoo mail for my mail acct. In yahoo mail I have the sent mail folder turned off. I do not want to save my sent messages. This used to work on my Itouch but now with my new Iphone it is saving the sent messages. How can I get this to stop? I have been through all the settings and can't figure it out. You may email me at [email protected] Thanks for your help!

Not sure how this used to work on your iPod Touch since there is no setting for an email account preferences to not save sent messages. With an IMAP account, there is an option to store sent messages on the server, or locally on the iPhone. There is no do not save sent messages setting, and the same for the email account preferences with a POP account.

  • How can I get the content of a text element to insert in a different block

I have two blocks. The first one (block_control) is a non based block with a text element (EXERCICE). When I go to the second block (block_data) and I want to insert a new record, I need in my record the value of EXERCICE who is in the first block (block_control). How can I get this balue if I want to be able to do an execute_query too on the second block ? Because if I use pre-block or post-block or when-new-record-instance trigger to make the content of EXERCICE follow from block_control to block_data in a hidden field, I can't execute_query.
    Thank's

First , when you want to insert a record in the second block , override the default commit_form processing and create a commit-form trigger which is called by a button to commit your form. The when-button-pressed trigger of this button should be : do_key('commit_form'); . And you create the key-commit trigger on the second block. Inside the key-commit trigger write this :
    :second_block.item_name := name_in('block_control_name.exercice');
    commit_form;
In this way you get the exercice data into your record.
Secondly, in the post-query trigger of the second block, set the exercice column of the second block to the exercice column of the block_control.
    And that's it.

  • How can I get Mail later than Mail 3.6?

I use Snow Leopard.  When I check Mail i get an error message:  You can't use this version of the application Mail with this version of Mac OS X.  You have Mail 3.6.  I installed Snow Leopard and thought that would include later versions of Mail.  How do I get updte versions of Mail?

Open it directly from the Applications folder. If you already are, use Pacifist to extract it from the Mac OS X 10.6 install disk.

  • How can I get Mail to show the correct cc: address?

Generally, I always set Apple Mail to cc: a copy of any message I send out  to me in my regular user name. For some strange reason, since I upgraded to Mavericks last year, instead of migrating my name to the cc: line in any message I send, on one of my computers some other version of my name with my college graduating class at the end of it and many spaces between my first and last name appears in the cc: line instead. What has gone wrong in this particular computer, and where is it in the preferences or other low-level files that I can fix it? I try to remove the faulty address from my list, but it keeps coming back to haunt me when next I boot up my computer. I find the file in Contacts on that computer, but for some reason I cannot delete it. Any suggestions about how to fix this problem?

    HI,
As far as I am aware Messages marks or time stamps an iMessage at the time of receipt rather then the time you got around to reading it.
I will admit that in most cases reading and receiving as the app opens will be near enough the same time in some conversations.
Adding Time Stamps to Chat is what iChat has always done particularly with AIM based Chats.
The "Sync" in Messages is "display on all devices"  and after that each iMessages is dealth with separately on each device.
There is no syncing of deleting/dimssing an iMessages or having read it on another device.
