my cursor on my imac goes off the screen. How can I control it?

Thanks for your reply, but I am talking about tasks not events. I can see my events, I cannot see any tasks below that. I used to be able to, but they have disappeared. I can plan a new task, but it never shows anywhere on my screen after i have planned it.

I am working on a class with the purpose to plot 2D data. Everything works well but I'm facing a classic problem, I mean the way I should update the graph. That class is an extension of JPanel so I made a method Draw() that is able to draw the graph according with an external file. Clearly if I reduce the application or if I open a window that is located on the graph this last will be deleted, completely or partially, maybe I need to refresh it. Should I override some method like paint(), paintComponent() or something like that to keep the graph always on the screen?. Another question, wich is the best way to clear the graph before I plot another one?

If you do Cmd+Shift+3 you'll get a full screen image saved to your desktop as a jpg file.
Also, you can use Cmd+Shift+4 and you'll get a cursor which you click+drag to draw a box. When you release the drag the boxed in area will be saved to the Desktop as a jpg file.

You may have blundered into "Full Screen" mode, an abomination ported from iOS, the iPhone Operating System, land of tiny screens and one-at-a-time Applications.
Try clicking the double-arrows in the extreme upper right of the MenuBar or Window.

I'm writing in Hebrew & English on apple Mail application on OS X /mountain Lion.
When I'm starting to write a mail in HEBREW it's automatically move the signature to the right side which I don't like it because my signature is in English (My Hebrew is a why better from my English ; )
How can I keep the signature on the left side as default?

I don't know how you received an upgrade for iTunes. You make it sound like it was sent to you. At most your computer will tell you of a new version and you tell it to download it and install it. However, a computer will not do this for a version which is incompatible. iTunes 10.7 came out a few weeks ago but your computer would not notify you and even if it did, 10.7 would refuse to install on your computer. So this part isn't making a lot of sense.
Two ways to get the 'newer version' message. One is to open your library on a computer running a newer version, and then try to open it with an older version. Usually happens when the library is on an external and used with multiple computers. The second way is if you have multiple versions of itunes installed on your computer.
The newest (and likely the last) iTunes for OSX 10.5.8 is iTunes 10.6.3 which has been out for quite a while.

My 5 year old iMac's hard drive is at the point of failing. I'm trying to save al files on it, but it wont allow backup via Time Machine to an external hard drive. How can I keep from losing all the files and programs if the hard drive fails?

I'm concerned that my iMac, purchased 5 years ago, is about the crash and I can't back up my files and programs to an external hard drive via Time Machine because the computer freezes after only a couple hundred MB and gets nowhere near the required amount.
How can I save these files and programs if the computer hard drive fails or has to be replaced without the backup being able to be done? I need to do something quickly, but I'm not sure what I can or should be doing.

Get an external hard drive, some good ones that I like are the OWC, http://www.macsales.com Mercury Elite Pro drives...they are very good and reasonably priced.
Get the drive, connect via USB or FireWire, then use Disk Utility to format the new drive as Mac OS X Extended (Journaled), and then use Disk Utility to Restore the current drive to the new drive. Restore actually clones the drive so you will have a bootable backup on the external drive.
After you have formatted and named the external drive, click Restore in the main Disk Utility window, drag the name of the old hard drive to the Source box, and drag the name of the new external drive to the Destination box. DU will make an exact clone of the internal drive on the external drive.
That clone will be a complete backup of the operating system and all of your data.
You can test it by restarting the iMac and hold the Option key. That will give you a grey screen showing all bootable drives. Just click the external drive, then click the upward pointing arrow under it and the iMac will boot from that drive.

How can I keep Firefox from changing the language for the spelling checker?

I'm using Firefox 20.0 on Fedora 17 (Xfce) fully updated. At random intervals Firefox will either set the language to some random version of English (Zambia, much of the time) until I notice and set it back or it will simply uncheck US English without selecting anything else. It also turns the spelling checker off once in a while. It's hard to say just what, if anything, triggers this because I only close Firefox for updates, and only reboot for kernel updates. Most of the time, my computer runs 24/7 and Firefox stays open sometimes, for over a month without any other issues. I found two old, closed threads on this, but neither of them had anything applicable.

There's an issue with this because Firefox looks at the page you're visiting and decides on the dictionary based on the language code. At least according to this [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=682564 bug].
I'm still looking to see if there's anything that can be done to stand on the programs neck until it cries uncle and uses EN-GB regardless. But I'm not holding my breath.

Have you checked all your homescreens and app folders for them, and do they show on the iPad's spotlight search screen (swipe your first homescreen to the right and type in Safari or Mail) ?
Safari can be hidden via Settings > General > Restrictions > Safari being 'off', so you could check that as well.
If you still can't find then try a reset and see if you can find them after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot
There is also Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout which will reset the layout of your apps and might make it easier to find them.

How can I view 2 pages on the screen?

With old Pages there was an option in Zoom to see One Up or Two Up. But this has now disappeared. How can I see Two Up?

A temporary work around if you're stuck in the new Pages is to go to File>Print and then open in Preview and select the 2 page view. At least you can see what it looks like but you won't be able to edit anything.
Make sure you submit a review on the App Store and list this feature as missing. Features that are most in demand will rise to the top of the to-do list unless there is some reason why Apple won't re-instate the feature.

If you restored the hard drive to its original factory-new contents using the Toshiba recovery media, then the problem is almost certainly due to malfunctioning hardware.
