I would like a color tint in the bubble, but no optical distortion.

GB for iPad doesn't have volume automation, you'd need to import the project into GB on a Mac to create the fade with a volume curve.

How can I make a "scaling scale" effect in photoshop? (soda can)

Hey. As part of my production art class, I was making a soda can mockup from a tutorial. I thought of an effect that could make it look better, where I make the soda can label and water bubble layer larger than the can, then use a "scaling scale" that leaves the pixels near the center of the layer at 100%, with the pixels at the edges having the biggest difference in size (thinner). This would make a sort of 3D effect that could make it look like the label and bubbles were on a real can or cylinder.
Is this possible?

If you're using a version of PS that has 3d, that would be easiest way to may both the bubbles and label apper to conform to the can. You can create a soda can in aPS 3D and then apply the label to the can using the diffuse layer texture map.
The other way would be to use warp (ctrl/cmd-T then right click to select warp). You would then need to move the sides of the warped area in towards the can.

How can i make the smooth paint effect?

Just see the below image. Can anyone suggest how do i get this effect using photoshop? or is there any other software through which i can attain this? I tried using HDR effects of photoshop as well as photomatix and lightroom. No where i could find this.

Here is a tutorial that demonstrates how to do exactly that: Photoshop New Oil-Paint Filter and Skin Tone Selection Tool.
The key is to use the Oil Paint Filter in Photoshop CS6 or Photoshop Creative Cloud (CC). To do this, go to Filter --> Oil Paint.
This dialog box will appear and you will be able to make adjustments according to your image.

How can I make rectangular speech bubbles that adapt to the text inside them without the "arrow" that points towards where the bubble is coming from getting changed?

I have to make lots of speech bubbles (150+) that all have texts inside them which differ in length. I want the speech bubbles to look the same in terms of style, but I need different sizes of course for each text. This means that the rectangular part of the speech bubble should adapt in length and width to the text inside it, while the "arrow" pointing towards where the bubble is coming from (e.g. the person who speaks) should stay the same on every bubble. So is there a way or a workaround to make such "adapting" speech bubbles?

Here's another way I found:
1. Draw a speech bubble. Mine is a rectangle with rounded corners and a triangular pointer added with Pathfinder > Add
2. Drag out a frame the same size as the speech bubble. Select the speech bubble and Copy; then select the empty frame and choose Edit > Paste Into...
3. Alt-Drag the frame with the pasted speech bubble to make a copy, then crop one copy to leave only the top of the bubble showing, and crop the other copy to leave only the bottom.
4. Drag out a text frame and insert a table consisting of 1 column, 3 rows. Set the text frame to Autosize > Height Only.
5. Set the stroke/fill of the top and bottom rows to none, and style the middle row to match the speech bubble, (in my case a white fill and 2pt stroke; left and right).
6. Anchor (paste) a copy of the speech bubble top in the top table row, and a copy of the speech bubble bottom in the bottom row.
Getting the 3 parts to match up with is where you just have to work on it until you get it right. Use the positioning tools in Anchored Object options and the column width setting in Cell options to line everything up.
Enter your text in the middle row. (Hey, look at that...a valid application of Comic Sans!) With the Cell Height set to an "At Least" setting, the cell will expand to fit whatever text you enter, pushing the the bottom row down, with the text frame auto-sizing to keep everything in play...

There is no plug-in or button, only careful planning based on knowledge of the process of combining layers of images into a final image. Every element in a composite is a separate layer. If you are new you need to do some basic research. There are lots of books out there that will show you the theory. Once you get some knowledge you can start breaking down a shot like this:

If your original footage contained the background, the rock, the actor, and the branches then your first task would be to separate each of those to a separate layer. Then you would create or shoot the smoke and lighting effects and start building the layers. You then would modify the masks and effects on each layer to create the light wrap and look of the atmosphere using blend modes. Then you would add color grading effects or overlays to simulate the lighting in the shot. If you were really doing a shot like this you would probably add some lighting cues on the set to help sell the idea that a bunch of energy was lighting up the actors face. Like Mulenium said, there may have easily been fifty folks working on this shot for several days. It's completely unreasonable to expect that you can just add a plug-in and adjust some sliders to create the effect. Every composite requires you to separate elements into layers and then sandwich the elements you need to create and sell the effect you want to sell.

There are a variety of ways to go about creating effects. YOur best bet at finding how to do them is two-fold...
1) search the internet using terms relative to what you want to learn... something like "Flash fireanimation tutorial" or "AS3 Snow tutorial"
2) invest alot of time and effort at learning how to use Flash
The second is the most important
If you look closely at the first example you point to, you will see that it is all somewhat simple repetitive animation... the smoke repeats and even the tiny specks repeat. So the approach for this one basically takes drawn elements, such as the smoke and the sparks, and just continuously plays them over and over.

How can I make the combo box turn to the value of black.

When the show button is pressed (and not before), a filled black square should be
displayed in the display area. The combo box (or drop down list) that enables the user to choose the colour of
the displayed shape and the altering should take effect immediately.When the show button is pressed,
the image should immediately revert to the black square, the combo box should show the value that
correspond to the black.
Now ,the problem is: after I pressed show button, the image is reverted to the black square,but I don't know

OK, I understand what you mean now! I assumed you were asking about the normal Fade In or Fade Out using the transition from the Transitions panel. But I guess you mean the Fade function specific to a Cutaway. When you double-click on a Cutaway the Inspector opens. Here you can set the Cutaway Fade duration. But as you say, it only provides for both fade in and fade out as one operation - you can't set the fades individually (it's both or nothing).
BUT, try the method outlined by Karsten Schluter above. It will give you the same effect and will enable you to fade either side of the Cutaway (or add other transitions).

How can I create a video with effects (sepia, B&W, Negative, oval or any other shape borders) using my ipad? I would Like to keep a higher res and also be able to shrink it down to email or send in a MMS. Or should I just upload it to my PC and mess with it there? Some of the apps I have are very easy to use compared to the learning curve needed for video editing software.

Thats the Problem . . . how many apps do I have to try until I find the one I want? I noticed a few will render the video thus losing its original size. When I went to edit it more in iMovie the video was smaller--not good. And what software do you suggest, Templeton, for the PC? I love the apps because they are easy. I dont have hours to mess around on a software to figure out if its something I want. Im looking for simplicity. Maybe Ill get more into it later. I just want to record simple video of my playing the guitar for self analysis and create a short video for family and friends.

How can I make a photo that is 10 x 6.6 to 10 x 8 without changing the image in Photoshop CS3?

I could be snarky and say change the image in a different version of Photoshop, but NO...
The only way to make a photo that is one size into another size is to change the image. You have a few choices about how to change it:
One way is to simply expand the height from 6.6 to 8 inches using Image>Canvas Size, using the default setting of having the image centered and leaving the background either black or white, your preference. This will add background color to the top and bottom of your image. This won't change the image itself, but it will change its surroundings.
Another way is to resize the image using Image>Image Size, entering the new dimensions after turning off the aspect ratio lock (resample on). This will stretch the image vertically, however, so it's probably not a good option.
Finally, you could resize the image using Image>Image Size, leaving the aspect ratio lock on and resample on, and increase the height from 6.6 to 8. This will have the secondary effect of enlarging the width from 10" to a greater width. Then you crop the resulting image back down to 10" width, which involves losing some edge areas of the image.

How can I remove the hover bubble that appears over tabs

Using CS5, whan I have multiple images open, it open in tabs which I like. However, when I put my cursor over a tab, a bubble appears that says the exact same thin it does on the tab. However, with the bubble there I can't click on the tab beneath it to select it or to delete it.
This is actually a huge problem when I make camtasia videos where I want to swith bettween tabs during a voice recrding because I can't select different tabs smoothly.
How can I make it so nothing appears when I put my cursor over a tab (I want to keep using tabs though. This feature is great)

I think it may be that John_Bone_Jones has the dpi scaling set rather high making the tool tips much bigger than normal.

The above XAML define a listbox with the properties I mentioned in my previous post. There is a listbox with an ItemTemplate (define how each item should be displayed) and a definition of how the layout
should be done (ItemsPanel). The is also a style which uses datatriggers to show/hide your scrollbar. If you have questions about what I presented please ask but I would ask that you try it first so that you can see how it looks .
