How can I minimize the chance of MBP case bending? Case? Closing technique?

How does one minimize the chances of their MBP case warping or bending? I don't have one yet, so I'm asking for your opinions on preventative type recs.
Does it have something to do with the way everybody is closing their lid? Should we be using both hands to push down the lid on each edge, rather than grasping the center?
What about a protective case? Any recommendations for a slim, but rugged case?

It doesn't matter how you close it, though it might matter how you place it: upright in a bag might contribute more to warpage than flat on a table. I'd say the best way to keep it would be back-first into a bag (so the LED light is at the top of your bag) but I can't say if it'll help at all.
Unless your mac warps so that you can't close it anymore I think it's something that happens at random, even if you take very good care of it. Mine is a bit warped, I learned to live with it. When to you really look at your closed macbook? At any other time the effect isn't visible.

Indexing improvements might greatly improve query performance and reduce likelihood of deadlock, but they are no guarantee to remove deadlocks.
An additional strategy you might try is to serialise the queries. I am guessing that the SELECT and DELETE start at similar times getting IS and IX table locks respectively. Then the DELETE is escalating to a table X lock, for which it must wait for the
IS lock to go. The SELECT query continues until it needs a record/page that is X locked by the DELETE statement. That would be a deadlock. For the DELETE, you might get a full table lock at the beginning of the query. ie try changing the DELETE to the following
BEGIN TRANSACTION
SELECT TOP 0 * FROM WMDLXK.CDM_LOCATION_QUANTITY WITH (TABLOCKX)
DELETE FROM WMDLXK.CDM_LOCATION_QUANTITY WHERE EDI_BATCH_ID = @P0
COMMIT TRANSACTION
The SELECT in the query above will wait until it can get a full table X lock. No deadlock as it will wait for executing select queries to complete. Then the DELETE statement can execute within the full table X lock, so no deadlock there. At the COMMIT, the
full table X lock is released and waiting SELECT queries can continue.
Note: The SELECT queries will be slowed up (waiting for shared lock) while the DELETE executes. Are you OK with that? Actually, it is slightly worse, as a SELECT query might have to wait while the DELETE waits for its X lock, then wait while the DELETE executes.

How can i minimize the export frame

I am trying to export my file and unfortunately I can't go down where it says "export" because it's not letting me. I have a Window PC and whenever I open panels, the framers are all the time big and I try to scroll down to press any button but it keeps going up and I don't know what to do.
How can I make the frame size smaller when I'm trying to export my file, and in order to press the export button to get it started? Please let me know asap I appreciate it!

If you can't increase the resolution of the laptop, if it's already at maximum and won't go higher, then you'll need a new laptop.
Personally, I recommend a desktop, though. 17" seems the large end of laptop screens, and that's rather small. A nice 24" screen with 1920 x 1080 resolution is a good starting point, and you can't do that with a laptop.
Just my opinion.

Since the latest version of itunes, my playlists are "too large" to fit on the computer screen. I can no longer scroll down because the far right side of the screen is too far over. How can I minimize the screen or be able to scroll down my list? Thx!

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold(user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.

How can I disable the session restore feature after I have closed the broweser window myself?

I don't want to disable ANY other feature at all (e.g. restoring session after a crash), I only want when I close Firefox and restart it to start new on my home page, without any restored tabs whatsoever. I have tried everything on about:config and it won't seem to do the trick.
This is a big privacy concern and I'm really puzzled why Firefox was programmed this way without an easily accessible option to change it.

hello kayjay76, this sounds like a problem caused by some sort of adware on your pc. please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].

It is possible to turn on/off options within the Side Panel by Customization of Groups.
But it seems You cannot influence the way Web Intelligence present (minimized or Off) the Side Panel in the IE??
Is there a solution for this??
If not, it would be a nice property of a Web Intelligence document in a future release.

You can delete the empty one by dragging it to the trash ( test everything before emptying the trash)
Merging libraries requires iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ - it is the only current solution to merging libraries

One enters and exits full-screen with control+command+F keys. This is on the View menu in Safari. Optionally, the green traffic light in your browser title bar, if you roll over it, has the full-screen control it it. While in full-screen mode with Safari, moving your mouse pointer virtually up, and off-screen reveals the Safari title bar again, and you can click the green traffic light to exit full-screen mode.
You can hide/show the status bar by simply typing command+/. This too, is on the Safari View menu. and in 10.10.1 — it works reliably for me.

How can I switch the region code on MBP w/ DVD drive for the 5th and final time? It brings up the window with that world map to do it, including the warning that "this is the 5th and final time I can do this", when inserting a DVD and opening "DVD Player", but it never executes my click on the "Change Drive Region" button prompt.
VLC or Quicktime Player won't play it either, but won't bring up that window to change Region Code anyway....
Otherwise, I'm not having any other issues with this MBP at all. Peak performance on all counts :-)
I tried resetting SMC after chatting w/ Apple Support, but it didn't help.

Region encoding is the mechanism that enables motion picture studios to control the worldwide release of their movies. How can I transfer the application Keynote from my old computer to a new one and get rid of it on the old computer?

My MBP from 2008 is being retired by my university and they gave me a new MBP. They transferred everything from their image and all my iWork documents were transferred. However, since I added Keynote, Numbers, and Pages, they did not transfer. He said they cannot transfer them since they are not part of their image and active directory.
How can I get the iWork apps to my new computer and disengage them on the old computer without paying another $60?

If you installed them from a DVD, you need to install that DVD onto the new computer. If you got them from the Mac App Store, redownload them from there for free.
Having previously purchased an application on DVD or from the iTunes App Store does not allow a free download of it from the Mac App Store.
